Today I researched Tapirs to find a fitting name for our newest pet. This being a Malayan Tapir, I chose Sulita. In the Malayan language "sulita" means rare. Since all 5 existing species of tapirs across the world are endangered, and 16 species of tapirs have already become extinct, "Sulita" seemed a most appropriate name! Tapirs are herbivorous mammals. Sulita is obviously quite special to us! |
