If danger threatens, the adult Plovers will pretend to have a broken wing to bring attention to themselves and lead the predator away from the chicks. When the chicks can fly 50 yards (46 m) when they are around a month old, they are independent.

Mapledurham Watermill, near Reading, straddles the Thames, set in the grounds of Mapledurham House and its country park. God was with him though and after decades he became second in power over all of Egypt. He eventually brought his father, Jacob, and all of his brothers and their families to live in Egypt. Hundreds of years later his people were slaves to a new Pharoah, and that's when Moses came on the scene.

After hundreds of years, God's plan for His people began to take place after long and hard years of suffering as slaves in Egypt. He raises up a leader named Moses, who was adopted by Pharoah and lived as an Egyptian for 40 years, but gave it all up to suffer with, and eventually lead, his people out of slavery. After spending 40 years in the wilderness as a shepherd, Moses returned to Egypt at the age of 80 with God's command to the most powerful ruler in the world, "Let my people go!"

The New Testament accounts of Jesus' death aren't pleasant. After having suffered cruelly at the hands of soldiers and from the hearts of His own people, the eyewitness accounts say that the land became dark during His last three hours on the cross. When He breathed His last, under that foreboding sky, the earth quaked and rocks split. Being late in the day, His followers buried Him in a nearby, borrowed tomb. While tragic, something triumphant was about to happen in just a few days!

Spotted owls make their homes in old-growth forests and hunt small mammals by perching quietly on a branch and listening for something rustling in the grasses beneath them. Owls cannot digest fur and bones and cough them up in a pellet about six hours after they eat. Scientists learn about an owl’s diet by examining the contents of the pellet.

We are impala, as you can tell by the distinctive lyre shape of our horns, and we live in large groups in grasslands near water in Africa, and we know how to look out for each other! Amazingly, we can jump up to nine feet in the air, and across spaces of 30 feet! Our running speed is up to 35 miles per hour.

The New Testament records different aspects of the crucifixion and resurrection in all four gospels. But is there any proof that something so unusual really happened? Can we trust the Bible?

Skeptics sometimes suggest that the story of Jesus' resurrection is a legend, embellished over time. But how can it be legend when there are manuscripts which have been dated AD 70, just a few decades from the actual events? This is proof of authenticity because there were plenty of people still alive that could have contested the events as recorded. No ancient first century documents exist that contest anything written in those manuscripts. Additionally, there are more than 5,000 ancient New Testament Greek manuscripts that have been cataloged and another 19,000 copies in other languages. No other literary work comes close to that number. The closest is Homer's "Iliad" which has over 600 manuscripts that were penned 500 years after the original. Many other ancient documents have fewer than 50 copies and are over a century removed from the original. The more texts that are available, the more reliable the writings, because they can be cross-checked for accuracy. If the New Testament is regarded as unreliable, then so must all the other ancient writings, as there are far fewer of them in existence.

Other theories proposed by skeptics are that Jesus didn't really die or that His disciples stole the body after it was placed in the tomb and made up the story about His resurrection to keep Christianity alive. But that doesn't explain the account that the guards, obviously not followers of Jesus, confirmed he had died and took him down from the cross and allowed the women to prepare his body for burial; or that many of the followers of Jesus eventually gave up their own lives when presented with the opportunity to deny Jesus or die. Why would they do that for a lie they had supposedly made up?

It's not simply a matter of faith. There is much evidence that the Bible is authentic and reliable.

The event that changed the world happened here over 2,000 years ago. Ancient prophets around 700 BC foretold of the birth of the Messiah, and it happened exactly as it was written. Here are a few of the prophecies that were fulfilled that holy night. First, the location of the birth was to be in Bethlehem according to Micah 5:2; second, that the Messiah would be a descendant of King David. The lineage of both Mary and Joseph (his earthly father) can be traced back to King David; third, the prophets foretold when the Messiah would come in the book of Daniel, and fourth, that Jesus was to be born of a virgin according to Isaiah 7:14. Anyone can make predictions. Having those prophecies fulfilled is vastly different. There are so many prophecies that it would be impossible for someone to decide to fulfill them all and to devise a plan to pretend to be the Messiah. What is the likelihood of predicting the specific date of the appearance of some great future leader, hundreds of years in advance? How does someone "arrange" to be born in a specific family? How does one "arrange" to be born in a specified city, in which their parents don't actually live? Believing in the story of Jesus' birth and subsequent life does not require blind faith. There are many logical arguments that corroborate the story as it unfolds in the Bible and other historical books.
