It’s cold outside, but you are warm inside your home. Because your window was exposed to warmth on one side and cold on another, frost has covered your windows. It is beautiful, isn’t it? Come closer. Stick your nose on the window and see if you can see the ice patterns. Quickly! Before the sun melts them!

Thirsty plants prepare for happy hour where the drinks are free and completely refreshing. The timpani of heaven thunder as the storm clouds release their cargo of rain on the parched earth. In addition, many natural medicines are made from its indigenous plants. Tropical rainforests truly are the "jewels of the Earth."

The warm, wet weather is a constant, producing high amounts of rainfall with no dry season. There are four layers typically found in tropical rainforests, each with different plants and animals. The emergent layer contains a small number of very large trees which withstand hot temperatures and high winds. Eagles, bats, butterflies and some species of monkeys live in this layer. The canopy layer, a nearly continuous cover of treetops, contains the densest areas of bio diversity. The same types of animals live here as in the emergent layer, but in greater quantities and varieties. Also, one fourth of all known insect species and one half of all plant species live in the canopy. The understory layer is where birds, lizards, snakes and large cats live. The plant leaves are often quite large and there are many seedlings that will eventually become part of the canopy. This part of the rainforest only receives about 5% exposure to the sunlight. The forest floor is nearly devoid of vegetation due to the low light available. Any decaying plant or animal matter disappears quickly due to the warm, humid conditions and the existence of fungi which helps in the process.

This glowing green goo is perfect for all your slimy scenes. We found this stuff in abundance at the haunted house at the end of the lane. The ghosts in residence cooked this stuff up special using radioactive uranium, plutonium, and the slobber of rabid dogs. The brave souls who collected it tangled with the nastiest of spirits and risked their very lives in order to bring it to you for your enjoyment. So use it with gratitude and definitely be careful, as it is very dangerous!

What fun this pool party has been! The guests have been in the pool for so long that their skin is wrinkled like prunes. Burgers are on the barbeque; and a table filled with summer salads, freshly squeezed fruit juices, and many flavours of ice cream has been laid out. As the smell of the sumptuous smorgasbord drifts towards the pool, the hungry, tired pets jump out, grab a towel, and head towards the food.

It’s a pleasant thing, as they say, to "live in fields of clover", but if one wants to find the Shamrock of auld, they’ll have to search the whole world over!

(Lyuba continues) The blue ice troll looked at the sculpture of himself and at my frozen self for a long time. Then he turned me to face the cave entrance, which was overhung with icicles.

(Lyuba continues) At last the ice covering me began to melt, too! I could peep out of a gap in the ice crystals. They could not melt quickly enough for me!

Laying back you can see the gems floating in the haze around you, sparkling in different light, quickly shifting in the light to a new color. Caves produce gems of every color and size, and in PnF caverns, you can dig up anything from quartz crystals to diamonds!
