Debuting in Halloween 2016, this is the colourful pumpkin patch from which Pets harvest their pumpkins to decorate and sculpt into Jack o’ Lanterns. It is also sure to “set the scene” for future Thanks Giving art!

There’s prowling shadows and red glowing eyes, strangled moans, and spine-tingling cries. These Halloween Homes aren’t for the meek, but if it’s scary chills you seek …

Eyes! Everywhere! Aaaaugh! I’m hypnotic, remarkably exotic, if not somewhat chaotic! My creator saw eyes in me, but whatever else you can see, I will gladly be! A solar system perhaps, or something inside an underwater cave, that washes out on a wave?

Gazing at the wonder around you, you have never felt more at peace. The trees bare an abundance of Autumn colors: gold, amber, and apricot, which they shed so gently on the country ground. You can here the gentle breeze and the chirping of the birds. This is the home to so many wonderful creatures and you know you are lucky to be a part of their habitat. You enjoy the mostly quiet forest, and you realize that this is now your place of serenity. With the cool crisp air filling your lungs, and the crunch of the leaves beneath your feet, you hug the warmth of yourself and venture out for a walk.

Walking amongst the trees, their leaves changing into such vibrant colors of orange, yellow and red, you hear a stream. You follow the babbling sounds of the stream, and as you approach it, you notice a gently worn path with a bridge that crosses over the stream. The path leads way to a friendly fence that is guarding a pleasant looking cottage in the middle of the woods. The grass is still green, and the sun is shining. You wander who lives in such a perfect, peaceful place, so you decide to knock. After all, it's a cottage in the middle of the splendid Fall woods, so it must be safe!

The Pets’ Teacher is not impressed! She has returned to her classroom to find her artistic little Teacher’s Pets have been very busy, rubbing the task she had set them off the chalkboard and drawing a castle scene using her finest white limestone chalk! Thinking to match the punishment to the crime, the Pets’ Teacher tasks the Teacher’s Pets with writing a story about their castle scene. In addition, many natural medicines are made from its indigenous plants. Tropical rainforests truly are the "jewels of the Earth."

The warm, wet weather is a constant, producing high amounts of rainfall with no dry season. There are four layers typically found in tropical rainforests, each with different plants and animals. The emergent layer contains a small number of very large trees which withstand hot temperatures and high winds. Eagles, bats, butterflies and some species of monkeys live in this layer. The canopy layer, a nearly continuous cover of treetops, contains the densest areas of bio diversity. The same types of animals live here as in the emergent layer, but in greater quantities and varieties. Also, one fourth of all known insect species and one half of all plant species live in the canopy. The understory layer is where birds, lizards, snakes and large cats live. The plant leaves are often quite large and there are many seedlings that will eventually become part of the canopy. This part of the rainforest only receives about 5% exposure to the sunlight. The forest floor is nearly devoid of vegetation due to the low light available. Any decaying plant or animal matter disappears quickly due to the warm, humid conditions and the existence of fungi which helps in the process.

During his rare times of rest, Achiever Beaver munches on tree bark and admires his handiwork. The graceful arc of a completed dam is truly a thing of beauty, and chewed logs come in so many amazing sizes and shapes. The expansion to his lodge has a distinctly postmodernist style. Achiever Beaver sometimes wishes he had the ability to wax poetic because surely such works of art are worthy of panegyrics. Really! Who has time for musing when his dam spillway has come loose and is draining too much water? Achiever Beaver grabs his toolbox and rushes back to work.

Achiever Beaver surveys a clear stream cascading through the mountains and makes plans to build a new dam. A stream this large will require a curvilinear superstructure on a strong foundation of deciduous logs. The spillways will require some calculation, and the top of the dam will be a boardwalk of planed spruce. Fortunately, all the building materials Achiever Beaver needs for the new dam were growing along the banks of the stream.

Be careful that pandas don’t come and eat this whole village!

This mystical looking portal will transport you to anywhere you desire. Do you want to travel back to another time and meet your ancestors? Fringed with green sedges and towering brown cattails, framed with birch and aspen trees, the scenic spring pond is sketched again in the clear crystal waters. At first glance, the pond seems empty; but if you sit quietly, you will see that it is bursting with life. A pair of nesting ducks is hidden in the cattails, guarding their precious eggs with care. Turtles emerge from the water and sun themselves on the weathered grey stones on the pond’s edge. Frogs sit atop aquatic plants, waiting for unsuspecting flies to land. Under water, pollywogs swim with turtle hatchlings and little fish. Butterflies and bees skim the water’s surface, and forest creatures visit the pond’s grassy banks to drink.

The chill in the air and the hush of slumbering birds tell you that the cloak of evening has covered the mountains, but the light outside is unsettling and surreal. When the moon is full and at its perigee, it shines with an unearthly brightness at alpine altitudes. Let the scents of pine and rhododendron flowers embrace you as read a paper book by moonlight. Hike down the illumed trail to the cascading mountain stream and observe rarely seen nocturnal animals as they feed and play. Sleep can wait because most people would consider themselves blessed to experience a magical night like this even once in their lives.

It's spring, and time once more for 'Sakura Matsuri' (Cherry Blossom Festival). Enjoying the beautiful cherry trees in their brief time of splendour is a time-honoured event, so gather up your friends, spread out a blanket beneath the trees, and experience the transient beauty and serenity of 'Hanami' (flower viewing) before they're gone for another year.

A few quiet moments in the peaceful countryside will leave you feeling absolutely relaxed. Watch the light pink Sakura blossoms gently fall to the ground beneath the cherry tree as you enjoy a breathtaking view of the distant mountains.

Can the inhabitants of Castle Stormy hold out against their sworn enemies from Castle Bright? Or is this just a great place for rambling around by the cliff tops enjoying the sights and remembering not to fall off?

The hills may be alive with the sound of music, but I’m alive with fields of clover, and if you’re lucky, you just might find a four-leaf specimen to make all your wishes come true!

As the sun rises over Loch Ness and illuminates the surrounding hills, the magnificent Urquhart Castle feels the chill of the wind in its stones much more than it did before. It hears the whispers and echoes of its 800-year history: many battles, victories, and losses; kingdoms rising and falling; endless cycles of births, weddings, and deaths; the private hopes and fears of multitudes of people. Through so much change, the deep, murmuring waters of Loch Ness have been the only constant.
