If you and your pets take a walk into the forest outside of town, you will notice little clusters of happy mushrooms under each tree, and you will notice something else. Fairies, more fairies than you may be used to seeing.

There is no snow yet in the Fairy Forest, so before the snow falls, the fairies are busy visiting each other and deciding what magical spells they will use to decorate the trees in the forest this year.

It is such a beautiful forest my pets can't wait to see what it will look like when the fairies are finished decorating.

Mount Fuji is actually three volcanoes, Komitake at the bottom, Kofuji in the middle, and Fuji at the top, which is the newest volcano, all of which have contributed to the unmistakable conical shape. The volcano is surrounded by five lakes, with thermal hot springs that visitors can enjoy.

With offshore islands that are practically a stone's throw from Russia, Hokkaido is the northernmost of Japan's main islands. It has areas of wilderness with wild bears, and is home to Japan's indigenous population of the Ainu, The quantity and quality of snow makes Hokkaido a very popular destination for skiers in the winter, and summer sees an influx of people from the other islands of Japan as the qir quality on Hokkaido is excellent.

Kyushu is the third largest island in Japan. It has all kinds of attractions, from active volcanoes to calm beaches. The volcanic activity has created the ideal territory for hot springs, called onsen in Japanese, which are very popular. Other attractions range from its striking mountains to tonkotsu ramen!

Shikoku is the smallest of Japan's main islands but there is a lot to do there. The temple at Ryozenji, in TokushimaIt is stage one in the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgramage. The island is famed for its hot springs, the Dogo Onsen, Kochi Castle, with its original keep, it has a summer dance festival attracting an international audience and last but not least, a visitor to Shikoku should be sure to sample the delicious udon noodles!

Honshu is the main island of Japan, being the largest and most populated of the islands. It is home to the Japanese capital, Tokyo, and also Mt Fuji. There is something for everypet in Honshu, from hot springs and spiritual temples to the vibrant nightlife of Tokyo!

See the amazing Lake Louise in the Canadian Rockies. Then Saskatchewan, where you can enjoy unique landscapes with road trips, hiking, enjoying incredible sunsets and sunrises and abundant wildlife. Polar bear safaris can be undertaken in Manitoba, or how about a trip to the Royal Canadian Mint? Then there's Newfoundland and Labrador: "Anything but Ordinary"! How about a spot of whale-watching or iceberg-viewing? The Maritime provinces are the furthest east, consisting of New Brunswick (apple-picking, leaf-peeping, motorcycle routes); Nova Scotia (sailing trips, lighthouse-spotting) and Prince Edward Island (golfing, fishing, farming communities). Then to the north are the three Canadian territories. The Yukon offers experiences from the aurora borealis to beer festivals! The Northwest Territories is the dream place for anyone fond of the outdoors. Then Nunavut, where you can experience dog-sledding, snowmobiling and kayaking!

The flag of Canada, adopted in 1965, is unofficially called Maple Leaf l’Unifolié (French for “the one-leafed”). More than 5000 designs were submitted before George Stanley’s maple leaf flag was picked. The maple leaf was first used in 1868 as a national symbol. During the First and Second World Wars, the badges of the Canadian forces were often based on a maple leaf design.

The pets have a very varied tour taking in the magnificence of Rome and Vatican City, romantic Florence, and also Siena, and the vineyards of Tuscany. We go island-hopping off the "boot" of Italy on Sardinia and Sicily! There is so much for the pets to enjoy here, from the dozens of flawless sandy beaches, vibrant, colourful houses and special flora and fauna. The architecture reflects the melting pot of travellers from ancient empires of Europe, Africa and the Middle East that used the islands as a stopping-off place—the Byzantines, Phoenicians and of course, the Spanish, all of whom have left their mark. The water is perfectly clear, making it ultra-inviting for pets who want to try their paw at snorkling! And there's a banger of a surprise on Sicily, home to Europe's largest volcano, Mount Etna! It's classed as active, but pets need have no fear—that just means it's erupted once since the last Ice Age! Rest assured, your picnics will not be disturbed!

We start by unashamedly concentrating on the beautiful water city of Venice from dawn to night life, and experience delights from gondola trips on the canals, viewing quaint little bridges and magnificent architecture, to a visit to the grand Opera House. The pets will round off their Venetian tour with a visit to the famous Murano glass factory! We then move on to a colourful little town outside Venice before completing this leg of the trip by visiting scenes of a very different nature in the mountainous South Tyrol and Dolomites.

In this part of the trip, the pets will explore sights ranging from narrow village backstreets to the famous Arco san Felice in Puglia and the Isle of Capri. They will see iconic Italian vehicles such as the tiny Fiat 500 and the Vespa scooter. Along the way they come across Italian flora and fauna, and have ample opportunity to sample the best of Italian cuisine, not only pizza, pasta and delicious gelati but dishes made with freshly picked lemons and grapes! But let's hope they're not kept awake by too much espresso!
