No pet can recall who once lived - or still lives - within the manor. Pets regularly dare each other to visit the manor, almost becoming a right of passage to enter alone. Those pets who are brave enough return with stories of being followed, seeing shadows, and pawfalls they couldn't find.

These two may seem like a pair you don't want to encounter in the dark - but the truth is they aren't as threatening as they seem. This pair just happen to have soft blue eyes which appear red whenever a flash is used. The playful duo enjoy pranking other pets with their "red eyes".

As you hike through the woods, a path opens up, calling you to explore. The further you travel, the darker the trees grow, the dimmer the sky above grows. The trees begin to loom over you, hiding the sky above as a mist rolls through. A growing sense of gloom and unease comes over you, urging you to retreat. Turning, you find the path lost in the dark.

Any forest can be disorienting if you're unfamiliar with the area, but this forest puts even the most experienced forest guide to the test. As the sun sets, the gatherings of trees seem to mirror each other, creating a never-ending maze.

There is one night a year when things may not be as they have been, the air shifts, the light dims, and what you only saw out of the corner of your eye suddenly takes on a more solid form, and you are unsure of where you are and how you got there.

With offshore islands that are practically a stone's throw from Russia, Hokkaido is the northernmost of Japan's main islands. It has areas of wilderness with wild bears, and is home to Japan's indigenous population of the Ainu, The quantity and quality of snow makes Hokkaido a very popular destination for skiers in the winter, and summer sees an influx of people from the other islands of Japan as the qir quality on Hokkaido is excellent.

Kyushu is the third largest island in Japan. It has all kinds of attractions, from active volcanoes to calm beaches. The volcanic activity has created the ideal territory for hot springs, called onsen in Japanese, which are very popular. Other attractions range from its striking mountains to tonkotsu ramen!

Shikoku is the smallest of Japan's main islands but there is a lot to do there. The temple at Ryozenji, in TokushimaIt is stage one in the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgramage. The island is famed for its hot springs, the Dogo Onsen, Kochi Castle, with its original keep, it has a summer dance festival attracting an international audience and last but not least, a visitor to Shikoku should be sure to sample the delicious udon noodles!

Honshu is the main island of Japan, being the largest and most populated of the islands. It is home to the Japanese capital, Tokyo, and also Mt Fuji. There is something for everypet in Honshu, from hot springs and spiritual temples to the vibrant nightlife of Tokyo!

Australia's Aboriginal flag is one of three official Australian flags. Its background is black for the aboriginal people and red for the red earth and ochre used in traditional ceremonies, with the sun in the foreground.

I get the heebie-jeebies just looking at all those creepy looking trees and those glowy eyes! I wonder what is hiding in there waiting for me to walk by and scare me. I'm not going in there alone! You have to come in with me! 1, 2, 3... ready, set, GO! Whatever you do, don't trip on anything and fall down. I'm sure something will try to eat us if that happens! Wait, what's that sound? *Ackh, ackh.* Is there something out there? Never mind, just keep walking. *Swoosh* Oh no, what was that?? We'd better hurry up and quickly get out of here! Wait... which way is the way out? Help!!... I'm scared!! *Ackh, Ackh." There's that sound again! *Swoosh* Get away from me!!! Nooooooo........

It's a dark, clear, crisp, cold night. All around is quiet, as children dream of what will be when they wake up in the morning and parents rest before the big exciting day. The world is silent and still. Except for one man, who, with the aid of his loyal reindeer, zips around the night sky delivering happiness to children around the world. The moon is full and bright...you look up in the sky just in time to see a spectacular scene: It's Santa Claus! And his eight reindeer flying through the night sky, pulling his trusty magical sleigh! It’s an extremely rare sight to see and without the aid of the full moon you doubt you would be able to catch this once in a lifetime glimpse. You even think you spot a tiny red dot glowing on and off...perhaps it's Rudolph's nose? You can't believe your eyes and any doubt about whether Santa is real or not has now been confirmed for you. You know you have witnessed something hardly any others do, and you feel like all your Christmas wishes have been fulfilled just from this view you are seeing. But just as fast as he appeared in the sky, he is gone, dashing through the upper atmosphere, he disappears. After all, he only has one night to visit every child in the world. So you head back to bed, knowing that you are one of the luckiest beings in the world to have caught that miraculous sight. You fall asleep peacefully, with a smile on your face.

Just beyond the forest, you’ll stumble into the swamp. Oh, it’s a frightful place where the sun never quite breaks through the sickly green haze. It’s the perfect place for escaping lovers, vengeful step-mothers, conquering heroes, and wily witches to conduct their affairs under cover of fog-laden secrecy. I’m not saying never go near the swamp. I’m just saying … you’ve been warned.

Go ahead, peer into the depths... the darkness goes on and on... is it a tunnel? A vacant room? What is that eerie glow, the ceiling? Or maybe a phosphorescent fog left over from the last experiment…

Emerging from the fringes of deep dark space, gradually wending its way towards PnF Land, is an orbital vortex that is slowly gathering speed and strength, in the manner of a hurricane crossing the coast. Heaven’s draperies shimmer across the night sky, dancing in undulating arcs of colour and light. What causes these celestial spectacles? When the sun explodes in massive flares, solar winds travel towards the earth and electrically charge gases in the earth’s atmosphere. Green auroras, the most commonly seen, occur when oxygen particles close to the earth are ignited. Isn’t it amazing that solar winds, like a panoramic travelling circus, make regular visits to the earth to dazzle sky watchers with such stunning beauty?

The CN Tower greets you as your eyes scan the city of Toronto at night. So many lights and moving vehicles, undulating living waves of creatures on the streets, all rushing to get to the ones they love and hold them closely as a new year begins.

What could be more wondrous than the vast canopy of the heavens stretched out over a frozen tundra with no light pollution? Trillions of glittering jewels illuminate the sky, pinpoints of sparkling light that have travels for millions of years to reach your eyes. In the perfect stillness, you are enveloped in awe.
