@ Tunnel of Maple Trees
Rick O'Shade and Cutey Purr are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Autumn in Amber
Autumn has well been described by Keats as the "Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness" and pets will here enjoy a ramble through woods with tumbling golden and orange leaves. They can gather hazelnuts, horse chestnuts and fruits, and perhaps forage for mushrooms and dill. Then there are vast fields of wild flowers to explore, and an opportunity to admire the sunset while resting by a rustic barn. Watch your paws or claws crossing the river on the stepping stones—but perhaps splashing in the swirling water is part of the fun!

As you near this autumn realm and hear the thunder of the falls close by, you get to walk through a vividly colorful tunnel of maple leaves with the light of the evening sun at the tunnel's end to attract you further.

@ Silhouette of Flowers at Sunset
Roxy nearly stumbled over Rick O'Shade, who was lying full length on the grass. “I was wishing I’d brought my watercolours,” said Rick O'Shade. “This just cries out to be painted!”

As you step out of the tunnel of fall-colored leaves, you are greeted with even more beauty to behold as you see flowers silhouetted by the setting sun. Now you know that the day's journey is almost done!

Rick O'Shade was very happy to meet lily here! They both swapped tales of their experiences of their travels so far!

Rick O'Shade thought the scenery at this new stop was lovely and asked lily if it would be possible to set up camp for the night!

You pause for a moment to make sure that the pictures you've been taking of your breath-taking journey today have been capturing what your eyes have been seeing. Even though there is so much beauty for just two eyes to take in, you are pleased with your photos thus far, especially of the light at the end of the tunnel of maple trees!

@ Handful of Horse Chestnuts
Inspired by the sunny day, Listy said, “Wouldn't it be fun to work on the harvest?”
Rick O'Shade took a more pragmatic view. “You’d have to be up before dawn every day and work for 12 hours practically non-stop!”
Listy hastily revised her romantic harvest vision.

Not only were you enveloped with maple trees, but you also saw some chestnut trees mixed within, and so you grabbed a handful of chestnuts as a souvenir!

@ Bouquet of Fall Flowers
"I think I'll take a cutting of the plant in that tub over there," said Rick O'Shade. The label says it's 'vigorous' and 'fearless'."
Drozan sniffed. "That's gardeners' talk for 'an invasive species that will take over your entire garden if permitted'!"

As you left the woods, with another tree line to your left, you noticed some large blooms of wildflowers along the edge of the trees, and so you picked a few to spruce up your room when you settle in later in the evening.

@ Fragile Flowers
“I’ve written a postcard to Mrs Eucalyptus about this amazing Autumn Experience!” said Rick O'Shade. “She’ll wish she were here! Where’s the nearest postbox?”
jejustar shielded her eyes and rotated 360°, elaborately scanning the horizon. “I don’t know how it comes about, but they appear not to have thought to provide a postbox here, Rick O'Shade. How remiss of them!” Seeing Rick O'Shade’s ears beginning to droop, jejustar added, “Don’t worry, you can post your card after this leg of the Experience!”

As you continue through the field, you choose to leave the daintier purple flowers alone, simply enjoying their fragrance and their beauty in the evening sun.

@ White Rose and Pink Daisy
“Isn’t this amazing, Gentle?” declared Rick O'Shade. “I’m seeing so many flowers and shrubs that I’ve never seen before!”

With all of the flowers you are admiring, you almost forgot the ones you picked up in the autumn realm of green that morning. You check to be sure they are still fresh - and they are! - and remember that you have a note to fill out for tonight's host.

@ Wild White Mushrooms
Ariella and Rick O'Shade, after shaking paws, admired the crop of harvest produce in front of them. “I didn’t know it looked like that just after harvest,” said Rick O'Shade. “I’ve only seen it in the shops!”

Continuing on the path, you notice along the tree line something white. Not sure if you were seeing flowers, you approach and find that they are wild mushrooms, the edible kind, and so you grab a few to add to a possible stew later in the evening!

@ Path Covered by Fallen leaves
Rick O'Shade and Sephira, having shaken paws, got so engrossed in conversation about the beautiful scenery that they had to hurry along so as not to be left behind! They regretfully bade au revoir and auf Wiedersehen to each other!

As you look to your left, with the waterfall thundering to your right, you see how swiftly the river runs past you as you ensure you have enough stepping stones to get across. One wrong step and you may be staying somewhere further south than you planned!

@ Orange You Glad It's Snack Time?
Oliver and Rick O'Shade shook paws with each other and compared notes as to how their respective trips had gone so far, and which was the most delicious harvest item they had each come across.

As you settle in on your second rock in your river crossing, you remember that your host from last night in the autumn realm of green gave you fresh oranges plucked right off of a tree in their own backyard! Time to get refreshed!

@ Fallen Leaves Floating By
“What have you got in your tote bag, Honey?” asked Rick O'Shade. “It looks very full!”
“I’ve come prepared for anything the weather can throw at us, Rick O'Shade,” responded Honey. “There’s deck shoes, snowshoes, tennis shoes, flip-flops, flippers, walking boots, Wellington boots—you name them, I’ve got them!”

As you make your way to the next rock, you noticed flower blooms and leaves floating by. The leaves may have fallen from trees and were blown into the water, perhaps before the waterfall. You stretch out your paw and snag a twig of orange-colored leaves to stick out of your backpack!

@ Plucked Flowers Floating By Too!
Thinair bent down to sniff the flower in front of her but recoiled hastily. “What’s up, Thinair?” asked Rick O'Shade.
“There’s a huge bumblebee on it!” said Thinair.

After you cross to your next rock, with the shore almost within reach, you decide to add to your collection of souvenirs by grabbing some of the plucked blooms floating by and wrapping them in paper for safe keeping. These were put in the water by young pets in the autumn realm of green, hoping they would float and float for a long distance.

@ Plenty of Nuts
“I hope we can buy more of this at our local farmer's market,” observed Rick O'Shade, as he and Hadee Nidmorth tucked into a delicious food sample!

As you jump and thump from rock to rock, you check your supply of hazelnuts after noticing you hadn't closed your container as well as you thought! Whew! Most are still there!

@ Red and Yellow Flower
"I wish I knew more about horticulture, Midnight Bleu" said Rick O'Shade. "Sometimes I can't tell if something's a plant or a weed!"
"Oh, there's a sure-fire way of telling the difference, Rick O'Shade! Pull on it—if it comes out of the ground easily, it's a really valuable plant.”

As you land on the last rock, you notice a huge bloom coming your way on the water. It bumps into the rock, making it an easy grab with your paw!

@ Almost there!
Rick O'Shade and Kronk pooled their silver moles, hoping to buy a small souvenir or two to remind them of this beautiful place!

As you step onto the shore, you continue to enjoy the sunset and notice the host home close by! What a welcome sight after a long, but joyful day of hiking into a new realm!

@ Meadow of Yellow Flowers
While Rick O'Shade paused to enjoy the view, Whymsical Mysti started scrabbling in her rucksack for her portable, folding camping chair. “What are you doing with that, Whymsical Mysti?” asked Rick O'Shade. “We’ll need to get going in a minute or we’ll be left behind!”

With the waterfall and river now roaring on your right, the gentleness of the sunset upon a meadow of yellow flowers, which appear to be even more yellow from the sun's rays, calm your soul as you near your goal!

@ Fading Sun Rays
Rick O'Shade and Flora agreed that the variety of scenery on their Autumn Experience trip was the best ever! They exchanged opinions on which their favourite scene had been so far, and which was the most delicious harvest food they had eaten in their travels!

On your left is another tree line through which you see some of the last rays of the sun poking through the fall leaves. This makes you feel even more relaxed!

@ Green Leafed Plant
“I’m going to ask if I can take a cutting of this,” Sparkles said to Rick O'Shade. “This would look just fine in a half barrel in my front garden!”

As you pass this patch of growth, you pluck a few sprigs in hopes of decorating up the doorway or the table of the home where you'll lay your head down soon.

@ Ginger and Lemons
Rick O'Shade and BoBo shook paws before sitting down to enjoy an autumnal harvest snack. “There’s nothing like farm-fresh food, is there, Rick O'Shade?” said BoBo.

Paddy greeted Rick O'Shade cheerily, recommending he expended some silver moles on the fresh harvest food before them.

Rick O'Shade is enjoying the Autumn Experience when Lucky comes along. "Look! A special prize!" says Lucky. Rick O'Shade looks down and sees something valuable. Lucky generously lets Rick O'Shade keep it!
