Rick O'Shade is questing! Episode 1/25

Rolando the traveling teal cat is known throughout PnF land as The Storyteller who goes to villages at Halloween to read to all the young ones. Today he meets the user's pet who excitedly looks to see what books he has in his cart.

Rick O'Shade is questing! Episode 2/25

Rolando continues his journey to the first village and greets his long-time friend Bessie who is dressed in a cow costume. She is excited to see Rolando and is in the mood for a good spooky story. She asks to join him and Rolando happily agrees as it's much more fun traveling with a friend.

Rick O'Shade is questing! Episode 3/25

The fog becomes thicker so they almost didn't see Nova the owl perched in the nearby tree. She flies down and sits on the pile of books. Oh, I do hope you have some scary stories. I love scary stories, but only if they are not too scary. Rolando invites Nova to come along and hear the story.

Rick O'Shade is questing! Episode 4/25

"Hey, we're going past my house," Bessie excitedly pointed beyond the trees. "It's been awhile since I went on a journey and I can't wait to hear the story you are going to tell us in the next village, Rolando."

Rick O'Shade is questing! Episode 5/25

"Oh, this looks very colorful, Nova chirped. Now, all we need are some pets to show up and then The Storyteller can thrill us with a scary Halloween story. Please don't pick something too scary, Rolando."

Rick O'Shade is questing! Episode 6/25

Rolando opens up his favorite scary storybook and the pets sit attentively and listen. Nova is relieved to hear the story is only a little scary. She uttered an eerie WHOO WHOO which frightened the little black cats in the tent.

Rick O'Shade is questing! Episode 7/25

After an exciting evening of scary stories, Nova and Bessie helped Rolando pack up his storyteller tent and head out for the next village. Looks like one of the locals has set up some tents in his yard for them to camp out for the night.

Rick O'Shade is questing! Episode 8/25

Before they head out for the next village the little group of friends go out for a walk to enjoy the beautiful autumn leaves. They come to a little cottage where the owner is generously offering free pumpkins. Thanking the kind pet in the cottage, they decide to take just one to make sure there are plenty left for the other pets who want one.

Almost at their next destination the pets are amazed at the colorful waterfall and wonder what made it like this. "Oh I know," said Rolando. "I will tell you a story about it, and I don't even need a book for this tale."

Rick O'Shade is questing! Episode 10/25

The spooky trees at the storyteller's tent inspire Rolando to pull out the scariest storybook he has. He wants the perfect experience for all the little pets in attendance. Nova is a bit frightened but she realizes there are little owls in the trees so she thinks she will be okay.

Rick O'Shade is questing! Episode 11/25

Rolando really is the best storyteller ever! Three whole hours of delightfully scary stories kept the pets entertained and now it's time to bob for apples. What a fun night!

Rick O'Shade is questing! Episode 12/25

"WHAT, we're camping here?? After all those scary stories, now we have to sleep near these scary trees!" Bessie isn't sure she can do it.

Rick O'Shade is questing! Episode 13/25

Soon Bessie's fears are put to rest when they start singing campfire songs and drinking some soothing hot chocolate. The spooky forest doesn't seem so spooky anymore. True friends help each other when one of them has a fear to conquer.

Rick O'Shade is questing! Episode 14/25

Nova and Bessie both admire the lovely architecture of the homes in the village they are about to enter and look forward to another fun night listening to Rolando's storytelling.

Rick O'Shade is questing! Episode 15/25

"Whoa, I did not expect this. It's never happened before!" exclaimed Rolando. "I wonder why no pet showed up to hear my Halloween stories. Did some pet forget to put the announcements up? Well, let's pack up. I will tell you all about my trip to Count Dracula's castle."

Rick O'Shade is questing! Episode 16/25

"Oh my, what a spooky-looking town! I wonder WHO-O-O-O lives here," Nova quizzed in a slightly nervous voice. She didn't see any of her owl friends perched nearby so she seemed a bit more frightened than when they were at the spooky trees.

Rolando was quite pleased that this little town had the best turnout yet. So many pets came to hear PnF's famous storyteller! You see, every pet living here loves Halloween, and loves to decorate their homes to look scary. They were just setting the mood. Nova breathed a huge sigh of relief that there was nothing to be afraid of here.

Rick O'Shade is questing! Episode 18/25

After the storyteller was finished, the pets in this town thought it would be fun to take the travelers to their haunted woods for even more scary stuff. They really do love Halloween here!

Rick O'Shade is questing! Episode 19/25

The guide led them deep into the forest to three caves with glowing yellow openings. Do they dare go inside? Why not, they say. After all, Halloween displays are supposed to look scary, right?

Rick O'Shade is questing! Episode 20/25

"Wow, I never would have guessed that deep inside the cave it would be so magical looking!" exclaimed Bessie. "I feel as if I could go on quite the adventure in here, like a portal to another land perhaps." Rolando just smiled, realizing that's what books do when we read them, transporting us to unexpected and fantastic places.

Rick O'Shade is questing! Episode 21/25

Rolando heard the sound of a fox howling and opened his eyes to make sure it wasn't Luna, his faithful companion. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes and looked around feeling a bit confused. Was that whole cave excursion just a dream? Is it exhaustion, or is there some hocus pocus going on here?

Rick O'Shade is questing! Episode 22/25

"There *is* some hocus pocus going on here! Bessie, you are taller than me now. What happened to you?" asked Rolando. "I have no idea," exclaimed Bessie. "I just had a glass of warm milk before going to bed. Maybe there was some potion in it?"

Rick O'Shade is questing! Episode 23/25

After seeing that the owl was also now bigger than him, Rolando decided it was time to leave this town and head for home. Now he was getting scared! He encouraged his traveling companions to go to their physicians to see if the good doctor could explain what happened to them and if the growth could be reversed.

Rick O'Shade is questing! Episode 24/25

"What?? Did your house grow too, Bessie? It wasn't that size just a few minutes ago!" I think the hocus pocus has followed us home Rolando," squawked Nova. "I wonder why." "Oh I know," replied Bessie! "It's to show the pet who greeted us at the start of our journey the house they just won!"

Rick O'Shade is questing! Episode 25/25

Rolando chuckled and thanked his companions for coming along and helping him at all the towns and villages on the journey. He warmly told them, "Here is a little something for your time," as the giving tree tossed them twenty gold coins. They all agreed that they didn't need any coins for helping and asked that it be given to the user's pet, which Rolando happily arranged.
