@ Scarlet Pathway
Merry and Lady Thea are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Autumn in Purple
A country ramble awaits the pets and after exploring woodland paths, a small settlement will be found. At the spice store they will find cinnamon, chillies, star anise and chestnuts, plus purple flowers for perfumery. They will skirt a small lake before seeing a host of pink and purple-hued flowers and plants. Don't forget to grab an apple or two to munch as you head out onto the next stage of our tour!
Scarlet Pathway
As we begin our journey we are welcomed by a wonderful scarlet pathway. With the vivid canopy above, the crunchy leaves under our feet, and the sun-kissed trees on the side of the trail, we anticipate what beauty lies ahead.

Episode 2/25

@ Illusion of Nightfall
“Time to move on and shake the next paw!” observed Merry. Hershel agreed, but said he was going to stay here awhile and collect pine cones.

Proceeding along the trail something unexpected happens right away. The canopy becomes so dense it gives the illusion of impending nightfall. The light beckons you ahead.

@ Undulating Road
The quiet and serenity of the next scene made Merry and PI PI feel like they were the only pets left in PnF Land ...

The light leads us to the remnants of a paved gently undulating road shrouded with trees just beginning to lose their leaves. We wonder what pets have journeyed through here in times gone by.

@ Autumn Rice Field
“What an amazing view!” exclaimed Merry after shaking paws with blue sunshine, who agreed with her. Merry was excited to meet up again with blue sunshine. They both took a moment to admire the amazing scene around them.

This journey is definitely full of surprises! One never knows what to expect as they round the bend of life and this rice field is the perfect example. Who knew rice could grow here in the cool autumn temperatures?

@ Sunlight Road
Merry was in a hurry to move along and shake some more paws, but BLUEY decided to stay where he was for a while, and sketch the scenery for this week's Art Challenge!

The undulating road has smoothed out and we are bathed in the warm rays of sunshine as they illuminate the path ahead and the glory of the autumn leaves.

@ Wild Blueberries
“This reminds me of Meadowlands,” observed Merry, musing as she and Sour Puss took a moment to admire the produce beside them. “Such a lovely, peaceful scene.”

Just as your tummy begins to rumble you spot these deeply colored wild blueberries in the brush beside the trail. The color is much deeper than the berries you have seen at the market and your mouth begins to water. Perfect timing and oh-so-refreshing!

@ Fresh Chestnuts
Rampage and Merry shook paws with each other and compared notes as to how their respective trips had gone so far, and which was the most delicious harvest item they had each come across.

As soon as my eyes catch the sight of these baskets of freshly harvested chestnuts, washed and ready to purchase, a familiar song gets stuck in my head. Is it too early to sing Christmas carols?

@ Vision in Violet
“I’m going to have to spend a lot of time when we get back looking up what all these flowers are!” said Merry to princess ♥ sparkles.

Pets who love the color purple will be captivated by the intense color of this gorgeous violet flower. The vendor claims it will last for weeks as a cut flower so no reason to leave without buying a bouquet.

Millicent and Merry shook paws with each other and compared notes as to how their respective trips had gone so far, and which was the most delicious harvest item they had each come across.

Nothing smells like autumn like the aroma of hot spiced apple cider. Combine cinnamon sticks, star anise, oranges studded with whole cloves, brown sugar, allspice, nutmeg, and apple cider into a pot and steep them all together for a favorite fall drink.

"This is a glorious specimen, Jesse", observed Merry. "What a shame that in a month or so all this colour will be gone!"
"You know the best way to get colour in your garden all year, Merry?" said Jesse. "Buy a garden gnome!"

Baile Átha Cliath and Merry counted out their silver moles and bought some of the harvest food. “That one wins first prize for me!” declared Baile Átha Cliath.

"I wish I knew more about horticulture, Zen" said Merry. "Sometimes I can't tell if something's a plant or a weed!"

@ Log Cabin in the Woods
Dorlinger was hailed by Merry, who had also just arrived on the scene. “What a great view, Dorlinger!” said Merry. “I could stay here for hours!”

Ahhh, here it is, our lodging for tonight. We came upon this log cabin just in time as I need to stop and rest awhile. This cozy cabin in the woods looks so warm and inviting. We should get a good night's sleep in this peaceful spot! I do hope they have a porch swing to relax on!

Merry and Firefly pooled their silver moles, hoping to buy a small souvenir or two to remind them of this beautiful place!

@ Purple Rose Bouquet
"How on earth do you identify what this is from the thousands of things it could be?" asked Twitch.
"Well," said Merry, "you go through a checklist. Like what sort of leaves does it have, how are they arranged on the stem, do they have stalks, what's its habitat; that kind of thing. I'll lend you a book when we get home."

No rose is a mysterious as the purple rose and its fragrance is just as fascinating. This single rose is simply stunning when placed in a bouquet with other lavender-hued flowers.

What an extremely rare sight! I bet you didn't know there was a variety of lilacs that blooms in the fall. Well, there is! It's called Josee Reblooming Lilac. Lilacs, not just for spring anymore!

"I think I'll take a cutting of the plant in that tub over there," said Merry. The label says it's 'vigorous' and 'fearless'."

Merry had to travel on alone, as Flora declared she had found paradise, and had no intention of moving on!

Pale pink and dark purple leaves make this a quite dramatic poinsettia plant! And no, it's not too early to think about poinsettias because if we want them to look like this they need to be placed into a dark room several months before Christmas so that the leaves change colors.

Mischief shook paws with Merry and was just enjoying the view when he was distracted by loud rustling as Merry unfolded a very lengthy Autumn Experience itinerary, in the course of which she succeeded in knocking Mischief’s hat off. “Put that away, do!” snapped Mischief. “I’m about to take a photo of this amazing scene—the picture will be of your map if you don’t fold it up pronto!”
Feathery Plumes in Pink
Soft and wispy, like a daydream, these delicate-looking flowers are anything but that. They are actually a sturdy wildflower, blooming all summer long through the end of autumn.

Merry is enjoying the Autumn Experience when Perky comes along. "Look! A special prize!" says Perky. Merry looks down and sees something valuable. Perky generously lets Merry keep it!
