Joe X O Tic is questing! Episode 1/25

As the new kid in the neighbourhood, Buffy is very excited to experience trick or treat with his new friends Scaredy Cat and JJ (Scaredy Cat's emotional support dog). He invited them to his attic to choose some costumes they could use. Joe X O Tic dropped by to say hello, so Buffy invited Joe X O Tic to come along. The more, the merrier!

Joe X O Tic is questing! Episode 2/25

Scaredy Cat chose a ball mask (not only is he a Scaredy Cat, he's also shy!) and a Viking helmet for JJ (which definitely made him look brave).

"What are you supposed to be?" asked Scaredy Cat.

"I'm a frog!! Can't you tell?" replied Buffy. "And I'm so excited to collect all the candy. I just looove candy!"

Joe X O Tic is questing! Episode 3/25

It was dusk as the four of them got ready to start their trick or treating adventure. "Candy bag - check, costume - check, what are we waiting for? Let's go!" shouted Buffy. "I'm a frog! I'm a frog! I'm a frog!!" he kept on chanting.

Suddenly Scaredy Cat saw a glimpse of a flash on top of Buffy’s head and saw a shadow fly by. Since it was Halloween, he thought nothing of it, so the four of them continued walking.

Joe X O Tic is questing! Episode 4/25

As they moved along the road, stopping to trick or treat at each house in the neighbourhood, Joe X O Tic and Scaredy Cat noticed something peculiar about Buffy. There's a smoke-like entity above his head. He started to jump and chase something in the air.

"What is wrong with you, what are you doing?” asked Scaredy Cat.

"I'm a frog, I'm chasing the flies and they're yummy!" exclaimed Buffy.

"What flies?" asked Joe X O Tic.

"There!! Can't you guys see them?" They only saw Buffy throwing the candy he got to the sky and jumping to catch it like a frog.

"I think he is hallucinating. To him, all candies look like flies!"

Joe X O Tic is questing! Episode 5/25

Quite exhausted with Buffy’s silly antics, they let him be and continued trick or treating. As they stopped by each house, Scaredy Cat felt a sense of deja vu.

"Are my eyes playing tricks on me? Or did we just step into a time portal and go to the past? I swear I've seen all those characters before!”

Joe X O Tic is questing! Episode 6/25

They kept moving. Sure enough, past characters kept popping up at each of the houses they stopped at. Buffy seemed content with chasing the imaginary "flies". Once in a while he called out "I'm a frog!"

Joe X O Tic is questing! Episode 7/25

They came to the end of the row of houses, and found a café. Surprisingly the café was closed. They stopped to take a breather. Buffy didn't want to slow down yet. He asked "What's beyond this café? Can we go trick or treat there? I must get more candies!"

Joe X O Tic gave him an answer. "Well, I've lived here for years, but I never trick or treated beyond this café myself. I'm curious to see what's there. From what my brother told me, the houses in those areas are quite far apart … but they give good candies!"

"That's it ... I want to continue now," said Buffy. So the four of them carried on past the café.

Joe X O Tic is questing! Episode 8/25

The road ahead looked eerie and deserted. It was now officially night time.

“I wonder what lies ahead? Will Buffy be okay soon?" Scaredy Cat asked himself. "Why don't we agree on a time to go back? Is 10 o'clock okay for everyone?"

They all nodded. "Alright, 10 o'clock it is. No matter what, we'll go back at 10 p.m." Then they entered unfamiliar territory.

Joe X O Tic is questing! Episode 9/25

The first house they visited was big, but looked a bit creepy. The owner (who had dressed as a ghost) was very kind. He gave them lots of candy, too. The decorations around the house looked so real!

"I thought those were real ghosts flying all over the house!" Scaredy Cat said. Buffy was happy to get lots of candy. The others realised he had eaten most of it along the way!

Joe X O Tic is questing! Episode 10/25

Wow!! Check that out. Isn't that a castle? And check out the spooky tree behind the iron gate … so cool. People beyond the café sure celebrate Halloween enthusiastically with their great decorations.

Mr.Dracula came out to greet them and offered lots of spooky candy. When they asked about the bats flying around his castle, he said "Those are my cousins ... hahahahhaha, just kidding!" He continued to laugh maniacally.

Joe X O Tic is questing! Episode 11/25

They had not expected many houses beyond the castle. The hut ahead of them looked cute, but the witch waiting in front of it did not look friendly at all.

Scaredy Cat started to fall back a bit. The area surrounding them was no longer an open space. They were in a wooded area and fog was approaching. Now it was getting very creepy. But it turned out the mean looking witch was a sweetheart; she gave them plenty of goodies, too!

Joe X O Tic is questing! Episode 12/25

As they approached the next abode, they were greeted by the cutest looking pumpkin house and a sweet looking bear dressed as a witch! Right there and then, Buffy suddenly collapsed on the ground. Oh no!! What happened??

Joe X O Tic is questing! Episode 13/25

They carried Buffy inside the cute witch house. The witch gave them mint tea to soothe his tummy. Buffy eventually woke and sat on the chair to enjoy the mint tea.

The smoke-like entity still appeared on top of his head, so the cute witch asked how he got it. Scaredy Cat explained and asked if she could help.

"From what you told me, I'm quite sure this is the work of the flying witch. Go to her house and ask her to cancel the spell on Buffy."

Joe X O Tic is questing! Episode 14/25

As they're leaving the cute witch pumpkin house, Buffy reminds them who they have recently met. Maybe they could just go back there and ask for help?

The cute witch said "No, that's not a real witch, that was just a cat in witch attire. You are a bear in a frog costume and I am in a witch costume."

"But I'm a frog!!" Buffy said.

Oh dear; the tea woke him up and settled his tummy, but did not erase the spell.

Joe X O Tic is questing! Episode 15/25

"How many houses must we pass to get to the flying witch house?" Joe X O Tic asked. “Is it four or five?"

"Four or five, it doesn't matter as long as we get there. I'm just glad Buffy is no longer chasing flies!" Scaredy Cat replied.

“Was I really chasing flies before?” Buffy just couldn't imagine it. They've enjoyed the house of horrors and the wonderful cute kitty, so they keep on walking.

Joe X O Tic is questing! Episode 16/25

Scaredy Cat was having a great time with all the Halloween characters they met along the way. Next was a skull house with a friendly mummy outside, waiting with candies to distribute. Folks beyond the café really went all out with their decorations. It was awesome!

“This is number three.”

“What are you mumbling about?”

“I'm counting the houses after the pumpkin, so I know when we reach the flying witch house. We'll definitely know when we get there!”

The rabbit in the wolf costume gave them a lot of treats. They enjoyed seeing her boot house!

Joe X O Tic is questing! Episode 18/25

Wow … all of a sudden, the surrounding area became very creepy. That is one creepy tree house! Did you notice the ghosts behind those trees? They look so real.

The owners of the creepy treehouse turned out to be three cool looking owls with sunglasses on.

“We're not the witch you're looking for … I think you will meet her if you keep to this path. Good luck!”

Joe X O Tic is questing! Episode 19/25

The first clue they had reached the right place was the extra creepy area surrounding the hut. Then they all saw the flying witch hovering above her house. Seeing the weird smoke was still on top of Buffy’s head, the witch invited them inside her hut.

Joe X O Tic is questing! Episode 20/25

As they entered the witch's house, Scaredy Cat kept his distance and stayed near the open door. The witch had a cauldron in the middle of her living room. She was definitely cooking something.

Out of the blue Buffy asked, "Why did you put a spell on me?"

"Well, I was flying home when I heard someone yell I'm a frog, I'm a frog, over and over. So, I just put a spell on you and made you feel you were a frog!! That was all. The spell is not permanent. It will end at midnight; but I understand you want it lifted now. I hear you had bad tummy ache until you collapsed earlier. I never thought your hallucinations would made you really eat those bugs and candy at the same time.”

As the mixture in the cauldron came to a boil, she ladled some out for Buffy to drink.

Joe X O Tic is questing! Episode 21/25

After a few minutes of taking the portion, Buffy looked so much better. The weird smoke had now gone for good.

"So, what are you?" the witch asked.

"I'm a bear in frog costume," Buffy replied.

Scaredy Cat, JJ and Joe X O Tic felt relieved to hear it. As they checked their watches, they saw it was almost time to go home. As they sipped their wonderful pumpkin drinks from the flying witch, they grabbed their candy bags and got ready to leave.

As they were about to leave the house, the flying witch gave them a beautiful colored wrapped egg candy as a gift. “Bring this home and eat this last, because it has so many goodies in it.”

Buffy was happy to see the beautiful egg. He said thank you and placed the wrapped egg in his candy bag. “Let's go home everyone!”

Joe X O Tic is questing! Episode 23/25

As they reached the edge of the wooded area, they decided to rest there for a bit and recall their adventure; how a simple trick or treat became a race for them to cure Buffy after he was bewitched!

When they reached their own neighbourhood again, they were relieved to see familiar roads, houses and other trick or treaters out hunting.

At last they got back to Buffy’s house. Everyone was tired, but happy to get so many candes.

Buffy was happy to get the wrapped egg candy from the witch. He was really happy to experience trick or treating in his new neighbourhood, and appreciated Scaredy Cat, JJ and Joe X O Tic going with him.

As Joe X O Tic was saying goodbye, Buffy tossed him a velvet bag.

“What's this?” he asked.

“It's just a token of appreciation from me. Thank you for accompanying me all the way and back! I had the best trick or treat experience, even though I was bewitched! Thank you Scaredy Cat, JJ and Joe X O Tic!”
