What can be sadder than a lost dog howling in the fog? All through the forest, the ghostly sound of sad distant howling can be heard.

WHOOO"S A HOOT is questing! Episode 2/25

Some cows want to be dogs. Some dogs want to be cows. So Foofoo (or ‘Daisy’ as she prefers to be called when in costume) has dressed up to go to the Scary Fayre. But she can’t help being alert to the sound of a fellow dog in distress, even if she thinks she should moo in reply. It sounds like the howling dog cannot be all that far away, so she begins to search; but the fog makes it so hard to tell what direction the sound is coming from!

WHOOO"S A HOOT is questing! Episode 3/25

Foofoo doesn’t have any luck finding the howling dog, but whilst she is looking, she meets an owl.
“Hello, Whoo am I,” says the owl.
“How should I know?” asks Foofoo.
“No, Whoo I am!” the owl insists. “Whoo are yoou?”
“Er, I’m Foo … sy,” replies Foofoo, dressed as Daisy.
“Floozy?”
“No, you’re dozy!”
“No, I am Whoo.”
“I give up. Will you help me look for this howling dog?”
“Indubitably. It’s very boring in the forest when fog descends,” says Whoo.

WHOOO"S A HOOT is questing! Episode 4/25

Whoo and Floozy (who has given up explaining what her real name is) keep looking for the dog, but they fail to find it. In their wanderings they come to a little house in the woods. A very strange looking bear comes out to meet them, dressed for Halloween.
“Who are you?” asks Floozy, before Whoo can confuse anyone else. “I see you have a nice little crooked house.”
“I run an honest establishment!” snarls the bear. “I am Clare Bear. If my dog George was here, I would set him on you, but he’s off howling in the mist. I’d give 20 GM to get that dog back, I need it to guard my house. I’m too arthritic to go looking myself.”
“I’d look for George Dog just to shut him up,” said Whoo.
“And I’d look for him just to make him happy again,” said Floozy.
“Then be off with you and get on with the job!” said Clare Bear.
“Clare Bear doesn’t care,” said Floozy, as she walked off with Whoo behind her.
“Can you say that again?” said Whoo.
Floozy thought for a moment. “I’d probably rather not,” she replied.

WHOOO"S A HOOT is questing! Episode 5/25

Whoo and Floozy wandered around listening to the howls, then suddenly the howling stopped. They gave up looking for George Dog and tried to find their way back to Whoo’s tree, from where Floozy could find her way to the fayre. It was no good, they were lost. So they were glad when they bumped into WHOOO"S A HOOT.
‘Oh hi, we were looking for a lost dog which was howling,” said Floozy.
“Not interested, I’m gathering cookies,” said WHOOO"S A HOOT.
“Do you see the gaps?” said Whoo.
They both looked at him.
“What if George Dog is eating only one type of cookie and leaving all the others?” says Whoo.
“We could be on his trail,” said Floozy. “Will you help us, er?”
“The name’s WHOOO"S A HOOT,” said WHOOO"S A HOOT. “I am following the cookies myself but it’s finders keepers, I was here first! I’ll help as long as someone pulls my cart while I put the cookies in.”
“Don’t look at me,” said Whoo. “The necessary dorsal muscles.”
“What does he mean?” asked WHOOO"S A HOOT.
“It’s an excuse used by owls,” whispered Floozy.

WHOOO"S A HOOT is questing! Episode 6/25

Floozy starts pulling WHOOO"S A HOOT’s truck. The job is a lot easier than it could be, because WHOOO"S A HOOT eats so many of them. It was a relief to come out of the foggy forest into pleasant countryside.
“Hoy! If I do the pulling, Whoo has to quit perching on the truck!” says Floozy, as WHOOO"S A HOOT carries on eagerly picking up cookies.
“I think I can see George Dog running on ahead,” said Whoo. “I shall fly higher to take a look.”
“Hmm,” said WHOOO"S A HOOT. “I recognise these cookies. They are from seasonal packs of six, but all the spider cookies are missing. George Dog is eating all the chocolate ones.”

“That’s torn it,” said Floozy. “The trail of cookies is going into the Scary Fayre. We’ll have problems finding George in there.”
“We must hurry, before the cookies are trampled on,” said WHOOO"S A HOOT.
“What a scavenger,” said Whoo as Floozy passed by him with the truck. “Are you sure his real name isn’t David?”

WHOOO"S A HOOT is questing! Episode 8/25

The three pets made their way through the Scary Fayre, but there was no sign of George.
“Are you a mummy?” asked Whoo, as he sat on top of the ticket booth.
“Yes, my daughter’s telling fortunes two tents along,” said the mummy.
“Is your daughter a mummy?”
“I hope not, chicks like her are too young to start a family,” says the mummy. “That’ll be 3 GM, one for each ticket.”
Whoo isn’t impressed, but reluctantly pays up.

WHOOO"S A HOOT is questing! Episode 9/25

The pets make their way round the ticket booth as the mummy changes costume; turns out it is a fox.
“How can a fox have a daughter who’s a chicken?” asks WHOOO"S A HOOT.
“This is a Fayre,” says Floozy. “A dog called Foofoo can be a cow called Daisy here.”
“This is P’n’F,” says Whoo. “That’s how.”
Th Ghost Train is at the back of the House of Horrors; all the same contents, but one side is walk through and the other is drive through, 1 GM extra. Behind the refreshment stall there is a ‘Hit the Clown’ feature.
“What are the prizes?” Floozy asks the panther.
“Cookies!” he replies.
“I guess not, then,” says Floozy, pushing the wagon.

“I can almost smell that dog,” says Floozy, as they go past some small stalls where the carnies live.
“I can’t smell anything for badgers,” says WHOOO"S A HOOT. “And there are dogs over there, eating gooburgers."
“Bogieburgers,” says Whoo.
“Ugh, I’m not eating any of them!” says Floozy.
“I’m happy with the cookies!” says WHOOO"S A HOOT.
“Then hurry up and eat them all, so I can stop pulling the cart!” grumbles Floozy.

“Ah, a carousel!” says Floozy.
“With an owl on it,” says WHOOO"S A HOOT.
“Who’s that?” ask the horses.
“That’s Whoo,” says Floozy. “Oh no, let’s keep moving before this conversation gets muddled again!”

WHOOO"S A HOOT is questing! Episode 12/25

The three pets come to the Magic Show.
“Have you seen a dog called George?” asks Whoo.
“I could make him disappear!” says the Magician Mouse.
“That’s happened already,” says WHOOO"S A HOOT. “Can you make chocolate cookies reappear?”
“1 PP says I can!” says the mouse.
“Just keep walking, you couldn’t buy this lot for 1 PP,” says the weary Floozy.
“But I like chocolate!” says WHOOO"S A HOOT.
“I like 20 GM,” says Whoo. “I will flutter around a bit.”

WHOOO"S A HOOT is questing! Episode 13/25

“Are you selling those?” ask some ghosts from the Escape Room as Floozy trundles past with the cart.
“Oi! No!” says WHOOO"S A HOOT. “Finders keepers.”
“Could a dog get lost in your Escape Room?” asks Whoo.
“Not for more than five minutes or we’d never make a profit,” grouse the ghosts.

“I can’t see George anywhere,” says Whoo as he rests on the sign for the Horror Tunnel.
“I can’t see past this wagon full of cookies,” says Floozy.

WHOOO"S A HOOT is questing! Episode 15/25

“I’ve got to have a rest,” says Floozy. “WHOOO"S A HOOT can go on ahead.”
“Pick a head, any head!” say the pumpkins.
“How much?"
“2000 SM”.
“Have you any idea how long it takes to shake that many paws?” asks Floozy. So she wanders on, dispiritedly.

“Still no sign of George,” says Whoo.
“Whoever is losing these cookies must have made a delivery to Spookyville,” says WHOOO"S A HOOT. “I had to go down the path and back again to pick them all up.”

WHOOO"S A HOOT is questing! Episode 17/25

Now the pets have come out of the far end of the Scary Fayre and into the Scary Countryside.
“All I want to do now is go home,” says Floozy.

WHOOO"S A HOOT is questing! Episode 18/25

The pets wander into a forest.
“That’s it, I can’t pull this truck any more!” says Floozy. She is ravenous, so even though she doesn’t like sweet things she stops and starts eating the contents of the wagon.
WHOOO"S A HOOT looks slightly offended, but accepts Floozy deserves some for helping.
Whoo goes looking for spiders, because he doesn’t like cookies … it gets dark, and they settle down for the night.

WHOOO"S A HOOT is questing! Episode 19/25

In the morning they see some passing witches and ask them the way to the nearest town.
“Just follow the cookies,” say the witches.
“Oh, great,” says Floozy.
“Oh, GREAT!” says WHOOO"S A HOOT.

WHOOO"S A HOOT is questing! Episode 20/25

A little later they get to the town, and Floozy can smell dog again. But they don’t know what George looks like, only that he likes chocolate! So they have to follow the cookies.

WHOOO"S A HOOT is questing! Episode 21/25

They reach the shopping street and still the cookies stretch out along the sidewalk.
“We must be near the end,” says WHOOO"S A HOOT.
“Why?” asks Whoo.
“Who,” says WHOOO"S A HOOT, “would drive up a street like this with a load of cookies unless they were making a delivery?”

WHOOO"S A HOOT is questing! Episode 22/25

Floozy collapses on the sidewalk. “It’s no good, I can’t go on!” she howls.
“Is the cart too heavy?” asks WHOOO"S A HOOT.
“No, I’ve had nothing to eat but cookies since yesterday morning and I’ve got the tummy ache!” says Floozy.
But Whoo has mysteriously disappeared.

WHOOO"S A HOOT is questing! Episode 23/25

WHOOO"S A HOOT is confident the trail is near its end, so he pushes the cart himself for a bit. There is Whoo, perched on a pot plant!
“@$^@$^!!!!!!!!” says an angry mouse.
“This @#%@#$#$Q#%@^^ dog has eaten all my cookies, which fell off the delivery truck!”
“No it hasn’t,” says WHOOO"S A HOOT. “We picked up everything but the spider cookies.”
The mouse looks a lot happier. “You kept them pretty clean, too! I think I can sell these cut price after I put in an insurance claim for the missing ones!”
WHOOO"S A HOOT is very crestfallen, but the baker mouse does rightfully own the cookies. So the only thing to do is hand them over.
Then George Dog clambers onto the cart, stuffed.
A bit later along comes Floozy, and climbs on the cart, tired and holding her stomach.
So WHOOO"S A HOOT has to pull BOTH of them back to see Clare Bear! Whoo flies on ahead and gives directions.

WHOOO"S A HOOT is questing! Episode 24/25

Clare Bear is delighted to see George again. “I think the dog ran away because he didn’t recognise me in this outfit,” she said. “I can take it off tomorrow when the Fayre has gone and we’re all back to normal. Who gets the 20 GM?”
“Whoo does,” says Whoo.
“Well if you don’t know I’ll ask the Cow,” says Clare.
“You think I’m a cow? Oh, er, great!” says Floozy, who is really Foofoo the Dog dressed as Daisy. “WHOOO"S A HOOT gets the 20 GM, because Whoo doesn’t know who and who’s to say how we can get a sensible answer if he does the talking? Me and George Dog have … kinda made friends while WHOOO"S A HOOT was pulling us along in a cart. Do you have room for … puppies?”

WHOOO"S A HOOT is questing! Episode 25/25

WHOOO"S A HOOT decides not to listen to any more of this and sets off for home with the 20 GM. Just think how many cookies you can buy with 20 GM!
