"One reason for the Danes' happiness is the importance of hygge, the Danish way of enjoying quality time with friends and family. It can be many things, such as candle-lit dinners, wine, relaxed nights in. It's hard to explain," said Paloma.
"Well, we certainly came across it this time last year in the Huskies, Hijinks and Hygge experience! We had some very cosy chats with all the pets over hot chocolate by the fire every evening in our accommodation!" replied Midnight.

"Cycling is awfully popular here in Denmark, isn't it?" remarked Paloma, looking out of the coach window.
"Apparently nine out of ten Danes own a bicycle, and they have 7500 miles' worth (12,000 km) of cycle lanes throughout the country," responded zora.

"In the 1840s, some Austrian bakers settled in Denmark and introduced the now well-known and much-loved pastry. "According to our tour guide, Catalina, the two oldest amusement parks in the world are in Denmark! How's that for a fun fact? Denmark is home to the world's oldest amusement park, Bakken, as well as the second oldest one, Tivoli Gardens. Bakken is just a short 20 minute train ride from Copenhagen central station and Tivoli Gardens is located just on the opposite side of the street from the station in the centre of Copenhagen."

The Island of Møn is in the Baltic Sea and is a must-see for any nature lover! Check out this scenic 4-mile route of chalk cliffs about two hours' drive from Copenhagen -- there are amazing views from the top of the cliffs.

"Today's trivia question, Shadow! What is special about the Danish flag?" asked Paloma.
Shadow considered this. "Flag of Denmark. White cross on a red field. You know, when I can't sleep, I list in my head all the national flags in the world that use red and white only—there's about twenty of them, you know. Then I go on to blue and white—I'm digressing. I don't know; what's the answer?"
"The Danish flag, the Dannebrog remains the oldest state flag in the world still in use by an independent nation. It has been recognised as in use from 1219," replied Paloma.
Gjógv, Faroe Islands
Gorge, named after a 200-metre sea-filled gorge that travels north to the sea. The village was first mentioned in 1584 but it is thought to have been in existence a lot longer. The Gjógv incline railway is the only operating railway in the Faroe Islands and it was installed to transport goods from boats.

"I guess all the cycling helps with the Danes' sense of wellbeing. Copenhagen looks to be very bike-friendly," remarked Paloma.
"Plus Denmark is relatively flat and isn't uphill both ways, as is the case sometimes when we go cycling at home!" responded Punky.

From mid-December till near the end of March you can expect snow in the Faroe Islands. The average temperature in winter is 3-4 °C ( 37-39° F). The Faroe Islands get on average 210 days of rain or snow a year.

Wood Island, is the northernmost island in the Faroe Islands. It has become a very important bird area for breeding birds, some of which are the Atlantic Puffin, Black-Legged Kittiwakes and Common Guillemots.

There are no native trees on the Faroe Islands. There is evidence that there may have been some stands of Birch and Hazel before human settlement. There are a few stands of trees that have been planted between 1800 and 1900. This location was also used in the James Bond movie, No Time To Die, and one can see why it was chosen.
