Sasha steps off the boat onto Aegis with fellow traveller Slushie. Time for a look around, but first a long stretch after the voyage!

This rocky bay provides the perfect place for anypet to rest, play with the numerous pebbles and watch the changing patterns of sunlight on the stone outcrops and distant peaks, or perhaps to dip a cautious paw into the unceasing sea waves running in and back out.

@ Marram Beach
While Sasha was busy snapping photos, Lulu wandered off to find a suitable bush, as there was a decided lack of amenities in the immediate area!

Anypet will enjoy exploring the sand dunes with their sharply pointed grey-green leaves and large spikes of creamy-yellow flowers of marram grass in the summer, the backdrop to a sandy beach and the sea.

Sasha had to travel on alone, as Zazzy declared she had found her nirvana, and had no intention of moving on!

This beautiful little bay is irresistible to pets who can’t wait to scamper or flap over the golden sand to get to the top of the stony peninsula and gaze far out to the horizon over the sea.

Admiring the view, Sasha felt genuinely glad she had taken Snowbell's advice on where the friends would meet up!

A feat of engineering that certainly stands out in the countryside. It’s a place to stop and dream of where the trains thundering past will be going!

@ Old Castle Place
Sasha tumbled out of the tourist bus, flattening Harry the Hoot Owl in the process, then wondering where the muffled groans were coming from?

Nopet can resist clambering or flying to the top of this ancient look-out point over the undulating countryside to shout, “I’m the King of the Castle!”

Sasha and Rosie pool their small change, hoping to buy some small souvenirs to remind them of this place!

This bay is just the place for an early morning excursion beside the sea; a peaceful place to share with the scavenging birds; ideal for contemplation.

Sasha was becoming increasingly irritated with the constant clicking and beeping of farid's camera disturbing the peace and quiet, so Sasha moved purposefully on without him!

A well-trodden path, with the company of sheep along the way, provides a view of the lake and distant hills. What lies behind that tempting bend in the way, I wonder?

While Sasha normally avoids tourist hotspots, she is glad she allowed Sephira to bring her here!

As birds fly home to roost and busy pets retire for the night, the West Pasture in Aegis becomes darker and quiet in the setting sun, waiting for the first stirrings from nocturnal pets who are active during the night.

While Sasha was whistling through her teeth as they ambled through another breathtaking scene, LoyaLloyd was secretly wishing he had packed ear plugs, or gaffer tape for Sasha's mug!

Sasha moved on to shake the next paw, oblivious to the fact that she'd also shaken Snowball, who had wandered off to pick wildflowers along the way...

On Sunday afternoons, many pets take an excursion in the formal gardens, which display the Dutch influence of bright tulips making a fine splash of colour against the immaculate lawn.

Arriving at such a wonderful location spurred Sasha on to keep on trekking. However Jin sat down, refusing to budge, complaining of blisters on his paws...

After months of planning, Sasha and Trooper finally agreed on where they would travel together, and they are both secretly please with their choice!

Sasha gazed around in awe, while Moon Dancer mumbled and grumbled about Sasha's shortcut being no shortcut at all, if the blisters on her paws were anything to go by!

Sasha was surprised to meet Dahlia here! But they were both delighted to find plenty of travel tokens!

@ Island: Aegis
Sasha finally makes it back to the landing stage, where Owen is also about to embark and go home. What an adventure it has been! Sasha pockets a map of Aegis as a momento. The guidebook says:

When their vessel carefully manoeuvres past the rocks to reach the landing stage, the pets can jump out and explore this delightful little island. There are beautiful, relaxing sandy beaches, rocky hills to climb, a viaduct and old castle ruin to explore, green pastures to take a picnic hamper, woods and forests to ramble in, rivers to jump over, apples to pick and there are flowers galore!
