"I guess all the cycling helps with the Danes' sense of wellbeing. Copenhagen looks to be very bike-friendly," remarked Matt.
"Plus Denmark is relatively flat and isn't uphill both ways, as is the case sometimes when we go cycling at home!" responded Heleena.

Located in Rosklide, the Luthern Cathedral is the official royal burial of the church for Danish monarchs. "Cycling is awfully popular here in Denmark, isn't it?" remarked Matt, looking out of the coach window.
"Apparently nine out of ten Danes own a bicycle, and they have 7500 miles' worth (12,000 km) of cycle lanes throughout the country," responded HappyCheerling.

"It sounds a bit strange, but the Black Sun is when, each spring and autumn, hundreds of thousands of starlings gather at the Wadden Sea National Park and create incredible patterns in the sky at dusk!"

Built in 1906 on the West Coast of Jutland, standing in the stairwell of this historical Light House makes one think they are inside a Nautilus shell. The starkness of blue and white draws the eye upward to the top, but do your paws have the stamina to take it all the way to to the apex?

"One reason for the Danes' happiness is the importance of hygge, the Danish way of enjoying quality time with friends and family. It can be many things, such as candle-lit dinners, wine, relaxed nights in. It's hard to explain," said Matt.
"Well, we certainly came across it this time last year in the Huskies, Hijinks and Hygge experience! We had some very cosy chats with all the pets over hot chocolate by the fire every evening in our accommodation!" replied Jillie.

The nearby Maritime Museum of Denmark illustrates 600 years of Danish seafaring history.

There are 123 villages on the 18 Faroe Islands. Most of the villages are situated near the ocean, which is to be expected from a fishing nation. The houses are close together and most will be colourful though some will be the traditional black. Many houses will also have a turf roof.

The vibrant green of spring and summer in the Faroe Islands. All the islands are covered by this lush green grass in spring and summer, with the arrival of fall the grass turns into a carpet of brown. A small stream heads under a culvert and goes on its way to the ocean.

East Island, the second largest of the Faroe Islands and another very important bird area. You may recognize this from the James Bond movie No Time To Die, which was filmed starting in 2018. Many locations were used around the Faroe Islands for the movie.

Volcanic eruptions over millions of years have built up the Faroe Islands. There are three layers of basalt, a dark grey igneous rock. The formations of basalt are exposed everywhere on the islands and anyone interested in geology is sure to want to pay a visit.

Another fantastic landscape was also used in the Bond film, No Time To Die. When you see stunning scenes like this it is no wonder this location was chosen. The Faroe Islands are made up of 18 major islands and 779 smaller islands, islets and skerries. A skerry is a rock island too small for humans to live on but often used by seabirds as nesting sites.

Saksun, Island of Streymoy
Streymoy is the largest island in the Faroe Islands and Saksun is a tiny remote village nestled between high mountains overlooking a circular lagoon. The lagoon was once a harbour but a storm filled the harbour with sand and formed the lagoon which fills with seawater from the Northern Atlantic Ocean, twice a day. A truly stunning place.

Pastel Winter Rainbow
What a delight this rainbow is. How delicate the pastel colours are. These are also sometimes called Sundogs but I don’t find that a very fitting name for these beauties of nature. By whatever name you call these you and your pets will love to explore all the uses you can put these to in your art. They would make a wonderful slide, whee all the way down from a puffy snow cloud. Who wants to go first?

When wind and rain work their magic over a very long period of time they erode the land leaving behind these dramatic pillars and arches of basalt.
