Pea went out and brushed the old covered bridge clear of snow and cleaned the windows. The tour guide had explained that putting roofs on bridges, far from being a quaint, point­less old custom, actually protect­ed the bridge from bad weather, made the whole structure stronger and had a calm­ing influence on live­stock having to cross the bridge over rushing water.

There was so much to do here! Pea and the other pets had a riding lesson, had great fun in the famous Corn Maze, had an exciting time on a gondola sky­ride and a trek with zip­wire adventures, they visited the art gallery and the museum, went mountain biking, went on the Ben & Jerry's factory tour, and had a helicopter ride! In the evening they attended a perform­ance by the local drama group and then went on a lantern-lit tour of the town!
