"I was reading somewhere that LEGO trees and leaves are now made of converted sugarcane plants, not plastic," responded Choose a name.

"There's a statue in Hjørring in Northern Jutland made of recyled materials showing a white unicorn on a plinth of crushed materials," remarked Darner.
"Wow! What's the Danish word for unicorn?" queried Sea Breeze.
"It's Enhjørning," replied Darner.

"Chef was saying last night that the Danish pastry actually originates from Vienna!" remarked Oksana. "In the 1840s, some Austrian bakers settled in Denmark and introduced the now well-known and much-loved pastry. For this reason Danish pastry is actually called wienerbrød or 'Viennese bread' in Denmark."

Did you struggle having to study Hamlet at school? Well, just 45 minutes by train from Copenhagen is a town that will make Elsinore Castle a reality. Helsingør (alternative name Elsinore) is a port in eastern Denmark. Its 15th-century Castle Kronborg provided the setting for Shakespeare’s famous tragedy. The nearby Maritime Museum of Denmark illustrates 600 years of Danish seafaring history.

Travelers will be wowed by the amazing sand artists at the Søndervig festival held at one of Denmark's oldest beach town. Traditional sand sculptures can be found, but the creativity of removing sand, rather than building it, is a beautiful creative flair!

"'When Shakespeare wrote about a Danish prince in Hamlet, the character was based on an ancient Danish myth about Viking Prince Amled of Jutland'," read out Darner from the brochure.
Allegra selected another Nidar Smash from the bright yellow bag and crunched pleasurably for a few seconds. "That's a very long play, Darner. Hey, try one of these chocolate crispy corn things! They're sort of sweet and salty at the same time!"

There are 123 villages on the 18 Faroe Islands. Most of the villages are situated near the ocean, which is to be expected from a fishing nation. The houses are close together and most will be colourful though some will be the traditional black. Many houses will also have a turf roof.

"Have you seen on our itinerary, tigg, we'll be visiting Møns Klint? Apparently it's a huge series of beautiful white chalk cliffs leading down to a beach where it says you’re almost guaranteed to find a few fossils! Then at the GeoCenter Møns Klint you can see dinosaur reconstructions, watch 3D films and visit an excavation cave to try your hand at being a real life palaeontologist."

The vibrant green of spring and summer in the Faroe Islands. All the islands are covered by this lush green grass in spring and summer, with the arrival of fall the grass turns into a carpet of brown. A small stream heads under a culvert and goes on its way to the ocean.

East Island, the second largest of the Faroe Islands and another very important bird area. You may recognize this from the James Bond movie No Time To Die, which was filmed starting in 2018. Many locations were used around the Faroe Islands for the movie.

Volcanic eruptions over millions of years have built up the Faroe Islands. There are three layers of basalt, a dark grey igneous rock. The formations of basalt are exposed everywhere on the islands and anyone interested in geology is sure to want to pay a visit.

Another fantastic landscape was also used in the Bond film, No Time To Die. When you see stunning scenes like this it is no wonder this location was chosen. The Faroe Islands are made up of 18 major islands and 779 smaller islands, islets and skerries. A skerry is a rock island too small for humans to live on but often used by seabirds as nesting sites.

"One reason for the Danes' happiness is the importance of hygge, the Danish way of enjoying quality time with friends and family. It can be many things, such as candle-lit dinners, wine, relaxed nights in. It's hard to explain," said Darner.
"Well, we certainly came across it this time last year in the Huskies, Hijinks and Hygge experience! We had some very cosy chats with all the pets over hot chocolate by the fire every evening in our accommodation!" replied Grizz.

A highly visible red boat rests on one of the many shores in the Faroe Islands. It could belong to a fisherperson or just a quick way to get around instead of travelling overland. Fishing is the main industry accounting for 96 percent of goods exported.

"It says here that Aarhus is reputed to be Denmark’s happiest city and one can see why on a city break to Aarhus. First of all, it is small, attractive and easy to get around. It’s close to beaches and forests. Plus it’s packed full of cultural events and attractions such as the ARoS Art Museum and the cultural center DOKK1," said Darner.

Streymoy is the largest island in the Faroe Islands and Saksun is a tiny remote village nestled between high mountains overlooking a circular lagoon. The lagoon was once a harbour but a storm filled the harbour with sand and formed the lagoon which fills with seawater from the Northern Atlantic Ocean, twice a day. A truly stunning place.

Pastel Winter Rainbow
What a delight this rainbow is. How delicate the pastel colours are. These are also sometimes called Sundogs but I don’t find that a very fitting name for these beauties of nature. By whatever name you call these you and your pets will love to explore all the uses you can put these to in your art. They would make a wonderful slide, whee all the way down from a puffy snow cloud. Who wants to go first?
