Sasha and shyla are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Autumn in Purple
A country ramble awaits the pets and after exploring woodland paths, a small settlement will be found. At the spice store they will find cinnamon, chillies, star anise and chestnuts, plus purple flowers for perfumery. They will skirt a small lake before seeing a host of pink and purple-hued flowers and plants. Don't forget to grab an apple or two to munch as you head out onto the next stage of our tour!
Scarlet Pathway
As we begin our journey we are welcomed by a wonderful scarlet pathway. With the vivid canopy above, the crunchy leaves under our feet, and the sun-kissed trees on the side of the trail, we anticipate what beauty lies ahead.

@ Illusion of Nightfall
"Put your camera down for a minute, Sasha," said Trix, "and just drink in that view!"

Proceeding along the trail something unexpected happens right away. The canopy becomes so dense it gives the illusion of impending nightfall. The light beckons you ahead.

@ Undulating Road
Sasha was very happy to meet FLAPPY here! They both swapped tales of their experiences of their travels so far!

The light leads us to the remnants of a paved gently undulating road shrouded with trees just beginning to lose their leaves. We wonder what pets have journeyed through here in times gone by.

This journey is definitely full of surprises! One never knows what to expect as they round the bend of life and this rice field is the perfect example. Who knew rice could grow here in the cool autumn temperatures?

@ Sunlight Road
Sasha and Sheba pooled their silver moles, hoping to buy a small souvenir or two to remind them of this beautiful place!

The undulating road has smoothed out and we are bathed in the warm rays of sunshine as they illuminate the path ahead and the glory of the autumn leaves.

@ Wild Blueberries
“Great to meet you again, Beast!” said Sasha. “Come and have some of this farm-grown organic food—it’s absolutely yummy!”

Just as your tummy begins to rumble you spot these deeply colored wild blueberries in the brush beside the trail. The color is much deeper than the berries you have seen at the market and your mouth begins to water. Perfect timing and oh-so-refreshing!

@ Fresh Chestnuts
Sasha and Talos shook paws before sitting down to enjoy an autumnal harvest snack. “There’s nothing like farm-fresh food, is there, Sasha?” said Talos.

As soon as my eyes catch the sight of these baskets of freshly harvested chestnuts, washed and ready to purchase, a familiar song gets stuck in my head. Is it too early to sing Christmas carols?

"I wish I knew more about horticulture, Lulu" said Sasha. "Sometimes I can't tell if something's a plant or a weed!"
"Oh, there's a sure-fire way of telling the difference, Sasha! Pull on it—if it comes out of the ground easily, it's a really valuable plant.”

Pets who love the color purple will be captivated by the intense color of this gorgeous violet flower. The vendor claims it will last for weeks as a cut flower so no reason to leave without buying a bouquet.

“These are great as a cake flavouring,” said Sasha.
“You can add it to savoury dishes as well. It’s very versatile,” observed Murgatroyd the Malevolent.

Nothing smells like autumn like the aroma of hot spiced apple cider. Combine cinnamon sticks, star anise, oranges studded with whole cloves, brown sugar, allspice, nutmeg, and apple cider into a pot and steep them all together for a favorite fall drink.

“My uncle grows these in his back garden,” observed Sasha.
“Wow! He must surely have green fingers!” replied dragolia.

Inspired by the sunny day, Zoot said, “Wouldn't it be fun to work on the harvest?”
Sasha took a more pragmatic view. “You’d have to be up before dawn every day and work for 12 hours practically non-stop!”
Zoot hastily revised her romantic harvest vision.

"This is a glorious specimen, Finn", observed Sasha. "What a shame that in a month or so all this colour will be gone!"
"You know the best way to get colour in your garden all year, Sasha?" said Finn. "Buy a garden gnome!"

@ Log Cabin in the Woods
“Let’s pose with one of us at each side and I’ll set the self-timer to take a shot,” said Sasha to Choose a name. “It’ll be a wonderful souvenir of our time here!”

Ahhh, here it is, our lodging for tonight. We came upon this log cabin just in time as I need to stop and rest awhile. This cozy cabin in the woods looks so warm and inviting. We should get a good night's sleep in this peaceful spot! I do hope they have a porch swing to relax on!

While Sasha stood drinking in the amazing view, Rascal searched in her backpack for her camera, eager to capture the scene!

“I’m going to ask if I can take a cutting of this,” Dilly said to Sasha. “This would look just fine in a half barrel in my front garden!”

Alexander bent down to sniff the flower in front of him but recoiled hastily. “What’s up, Alexander?” asked Sasha.
“There’s a huge bumblebee on it!” said Alexander.

What an extremely rare sight! I bet you didn't know there was a variety of lilacs that blooms in the fall. Well, there is! It's called Josee Reblooming Lilac. Lilacs, not just for spring anymore!

Milko bent down to sniff the flower in front of her but recoiled hastily. “What’s up, Milko?” asked Sasha.
“There’s a huge bumblebee on it!” said Milko.

“Time to move on and shake the next paw!” observed Sasha. miniyao agreed, but said she was going to stay here awhile and collect pine cones.

"I don't think I've met Cicero," said Sasha. "Is he on this tour?"

“What’s this flower called?” Sasha said to Cherish Scrappy Demure. “Er—I only know the Latin name for it,” said Cherish Scrappy Demure and hastily changed the subject.

Boci was glad to rest and enjoy the food Sasha shared with her.

"How on earth do you identify what this is from the thousands of things it could be?" asked Rowan.
"Well," said Sasha, "you go through a checklist. Like what sort of leaves does it have, how are they arranged on the stem, do they have stalks, what's its habitat; that kind of thing. I'll lend you a book when we get home."
Pink Poinsettia Flowers
Pale pink and dark purple leaves make this a quite dramatic poinsettia plant! And no, it's not too early to think about poinsettias because if we want them to look like this they need to be placed into a dark room several months before Christmas so that the leaves change colors.

Sasha had to travel on alone, as Lunaray declared she had found paradise, and had no intention of moving on!

Sasha is enjoying the Autumn Experience when Foxy Rex comes along. "Look! A special prize!" says Foxy Rex. Sasha looks down and sees something valuable. Foxy Rex generously lets Sasha keep it!
