Baby Gorilla

Being the baby can be so hard sometimes. The grown-ups expect so many things from you. Eat your leaves, don't chew with your mouth open, wash your hands, put the dishes in the sink, it's your turn to wash (ok so I may be exagerrating a little). And time out? For something like dropping fruit from trees on jungle explorers? I can't believe I got caught! Of course, I would never tell Mom that it was Dad that pointed out the best spot by the river to drop them (wink, wink). So here I am, waiting for the sun to move past the big tree before I can swing from the vines again!

The chore list is done, time out is served, and now it's time to hang back in my nest and see what is on PnF Planet. I hear that there is a show on about the troop of lowland gorillas living down the river! I tried to sneak down and be on the set when they were filming, but I don’t think I made the scene. Just imagine if I did, though, I would be a super star! Stay tuned!

I'm not sleepy, you're sleepy. I can keep my eyes open, I'm sure I can. I'm getting bigger by the day, and soon I will be allowed to join the rest of the troop, foraging in the forest and protecting the perimeter! But in the meantime, I better please the 'rents and just close my eyes for a minute, just one. Oh, my, that hits the spot. Mmmmm, nope, not sleeping, just resting my eyes. Zzzzzzzzzzz!

Your pet becomes an expert at finding its own food!

Trees are the whole world for arboreal pets. Their homes. Their social venues. Their food stores. And their playgrounds. This also makes trees the logical venue for pet games and competitions!

Tree climbing is one of the oldest traditional pet games, because it is used by arboreal parents to teach their offspring basic survival and foraging skills. While most arboreal pets were happy just going about their business of homemaking, romancing, foraging and eating, the monkeys became bored, and decided to make a game out of the business of living, competing with one another and their arboreal friends to climb ever faster and higher!
