I'm sleek, I'm fast, I'm top of the class. Don't let the glamour of my scales fool you - I'm one smart fish. I train regularly to keep my figure sleek enough to cut through any water current, a trick no other fish knows how to do. But I'm not all physical prowess, I'm also top of my school, the smartest fish around. Even Flounder would be jealous of my vast knowledge. Though truly, I'm a total package. Athletic, smart, and fashionable. My dashingly vibrant scales and fins are the envy of all the other fish - though they'll all deny it, of course.

Dolphins have always been very playful, proudly showing off their abilities to leap high into the air and pirouette their way into the depths, reminiscent of a chorus line in a famous ballet! But dolphins are also very social, and soon realised that their friends the manatees, sea turtles and fish did not share their grace or dexterity.

So the dolphins conceived of an activity that all of their friends could join in with them and enjoy. Distance swimming races…which the stodgy older turtles secretly refer to as “organised drowning”…
