Irish Doll

Hi! No matter how I came into your life, I am so glad to be with you. I was made by a skillful lady who lives in Ireland—long has she made dolls and other toys—so she made me look like one of the dolls she loved to play with as a child. I love my red hair, it hangs down in two braids, but when I run around the green fields, I let it fly free. Hehe! Do you like to loosen your hair when you go out to play?

My eyes are blue—blue was the colour associated with Ireland in the past—perhaps the lady who made me remembers that. Can we talk about my adorable freckles? I love how they are sprinkled across my cheeks; they make me happy; they lend me a certain air of playfulness. Do you have freckles? My dress is green—as green as the shamrock that symbolizes good luck—made of the softest velvet, with white, fluffy trim, and my hat matches perfectly. I wear black boots on my feet, perfect for the outdoors, where I love to spend most of my time.

Over a decade ago a brave fox took a dare from his buddies and submitted his application to appear on a popular reality TV show. He knew he could win because nobody outfoxes a fox. Not only did he dominate all other contestants with his cleverness and wily behavior, he was also surprisingly good at head-to-head challenges, winning a record-setting number of immunities and rewards. Week after week, as other contestants were eliminated he grew even stronger, building allies and voting blocs. The clever fox always had a convincing reason why someone else had to be voted off, and all the viewers at home wondered why his allies never considered him to be the biggest threat to win the game, and vote him out instead. Sure enough, he made it to the final three, and then received a unanimous vote from the outed contestants, that he deserved the win.

When he returned home he wondered if he could try a similar contest with his friends, since the challenge he was especially good at was archery. He never missed the bullseye! After fashioning a bow and some arrows he went into the woods alone every day to fine tune his skills. Once he decided it was finally time for the archery contest, he made posters announcing the event and put them up everywhere.

On the big day, he was thrilled to see a huge crowd had arrived to watch the games. One by one, the contestants tried to hit more bullseyes and shoot farther than him. His aim was so good he could even shoot one arrow into the previous one! By sundown, he was still undefeated! Year after year, his fame has continued to spread throughout the land and his records are unbroken to this day.
