Pelican
Soaring high above the sparkling waters of the coastline, I feel the gentle whispers of the salty sea breeze caressing my feathers as I glide effortlessly through the vast blue sky. Down below, schools of fish dance and shimmer in the sunlight, creating a pattern that calls to me like a siren's song. With a wingspan that could easily embrace a small boat, I am the majestic pelican, master of both sea and sky. My keen eyes, perched atop my long, curving neck, spot a particularly bountiful school, and with a grace that belies my size, I plunge into the cool embrace of the ocean, my beak opening wide to scoop up a mouthful of the briny water and its glinting treasures. The water streams out the sides of my pouch as I ascend, and I savor the feel of the slippery scales against my throat. With a toss of my head, I swallow my catch whole, feeling the satisfaction of a hunger sated. The world is a grand buffet for me, and I am its most elegant diner. Above the cacophony of seagulls and the rhythmic crash of waves, I am a silent, graceful hunter, in harmony with nature's design. The horizon stretches out before me, beckoning to my next adventure, and my heart swells with the joy of flight and the promise of the open ocean, my endless playground.

BirdsongBirdsong is as old as time. Birds sing to announce their ownership of territory, to find a mate, or just for the joy of living. Of course they all sing completely different tunes, but all birds understand the nuances of other bird’s songs, even though they may sound entirely different.
There is a natural order of things. Little tweeting birds hear one another in the hedges; hawks scream in the skies; blackbirds warble across the fields. And they ignore other species.
But when the wrens first saw a microphone and realised they could make themselves heard by everybird everywhere, that changed all the rules. Suddenly it wasn’t good enough to have just the right song for your environment; you had to scream just to be heard over the wrens!
Peace could only be achieved by giving everybird a microphone, but only in designated places. Then with everybird having an equal chance to be heard, competitive interspecies birdsong began. And the fields and skies went back to the natural order of things.
