It has been brutally hot in recent days and Scaredy Cat and Bob are worn out from the heat. Oh - there's a daily splattering of rain to cool things down a smidgen, but that relief is short-lived. It's so hot outside that you probably could fry an egg on the pavement. The heat is so unbearable, even with the air conditioner running at full blast and the ceiling fans on to circulate the "cool" air, it is about all the pair could handle. The effects of this horrible heat wave gives them a good excuse to just sit around and be lazy. Do nothing. Close their eyes and dream of things that could provide some cool relief. While Bob snores on the sofa, dreaming of sitting inside of a freezer filled with ice cream and ice lollies, Scaredy Cat struggles to keep his eyes open. This weather is just not for him.

The 10th of August is Lazy Day! If we're not too lazy, we can explore the many ways that we can be lazy! Sleep. Sleep a lot. Hang out at home in your pajamas. Binge watch the latest series on your favorite streaming service. Sleep some more. If you're feeling super lazy, keep an insulated cooler or mini fridge next to the sofa, stocked up with lots of cool drinks. Put a large bowl of your favorite snacks on the side table, close enough to plop your paw into to grab one or two. Another way to practice being lazy is to turn on some of your favorite music, closing your eyes as you relax to the beat. And of course, you shouldn't be cooking so it's an opportune time to order some take-out from your favorite restaurant. Chinese (ask for chopsticks so you can eat from the containers and not worry about washing any dishes). Get some pizza and wings, asking the restaurant to send some paper plates (again - no washing dishes). Even the big-name burger joints deliver! Just imagine all the different ways you can be lazy and just be lazy!!
