Scaredy Cat's hooman has been running around doing all sorts of projects and errands and is running out of energy. She has declared that she needs to have a little bit of R&R. What is "R&R"? He's never heard of that? What does it mean? He checks it out on the web (not the spider kind) and learns that "R&R" stands for "Rest & Relaxation". Wow!! Who knew?? Is this the same thing as taking a break? Apparently it is. After asking, he learns that one of the ways she likes to relax is to cook. That's not relaxing as far as he's concerned. But for some, doing something like that actually is a way for them to do just that. Well...his idea of R&R is definitely not cooking. That's more like work. His idea of rest and relaxation is to either hang out in the attic with JJ or going to the local art gallery where visitors are encourage to paint their own creations, with local works of art hung to provide inspiration to budding artists. Bob - well....no one is quite sure if he really knows how to rest or relax. He's always raring to go!! Even if he does take the time to rest (napping or sleeping), he doesn't really relax because he's usually super active in his dreams. When he partakes in his favorite activity - eating sweets from the local sweet shops and bakeries, he's not relaxing because he's super excited about the goodies! Scaredy Cat wonders for a moment if Bob will ever change. Oh well....maybe now is a good time to get out his painting supplies and see what he can create on canvas. This week we're going to take a moment or two to have a little R&R like Scaredy Cat's hooman. Does your schedule sometimes take over and you don't know if you're coming or going? Take a break. Do something that doesn't use a ton of energy. What would you or your pet do to take a bit of a breather? Maybe your idea of relaxing is to get the yoga mat out, do some gentle stretching while clearing your mind to all that has been going on in your life lately. Are you like Scaredy Cat's hooman and think cooking/baking is a great way to relax? Maybe you like to take long, leisurely walks along a local walking trail. Visiting some public gardens could be another way to take your mind off of things. Another way is to maybe fill the bathtub with lots of warm soapy water and take a nice long bubble bath. Close your eyes as you gently allow the soft fragrance of the bubbles to bring you to a new place that is filled with calmness. Whatever you or your pet think is the ideal way to have some R&R, we're sure to appreciate those almost as much as you.
