Today we find Scaredy Cat, Bob and JJ watching a “12 Days of Christmas” play. Bob turns to Scaredy Cat and says, "I think this might be a good theme for next week's art challenge". Scaredy Cat thought about it for a moment and replied "Well, it is only two weeks until Christmas, I think that's a fine idea". "This is ought to be a lot of fun seeing the different scenes from the 12 days, especially with all those birds" exclaimed Bob. Scaredy Cat chuckled, then said "Of course, they can pick their favorite day or create as many scenes they want since we have such a good selection of scenes, decos and pets. How about they substitute an alternative such as 5 Bunnies Hopping instead of 5 Golden Rings"? "That would be a really fun twist, I can't wait" Bob said smiling really big. And back to watching the play the friends went.
The original 12 Days of Christmas appeared in a children's book "Mirth Without Mischief" in 1780. The lyrics have changed over the years with some versions include "bears a baiting and ships a sailing, while the four calling birds originally "colly" birds meaning black birds. The song was set to melody in 1909. Some think the gifts are cumulative and others think that the gifts multiply daily so by day twelve, there are twelve partridges in a pear tree. In today's money, all the gifts combined come to $201,972.66! However, if you can interpret it, feel free to change to your version if you’d like to your own personal PnF style.
