It's the last month of summer. Scaredy Cat, JJ, and Bob were relaxing at home. JJ was glued to the window, looking at the flying ducks. "I have something to show you" Scaredy Cat said to Bob. "What is it? “I can’t wait to see it" Bob replied. Scaredy Cat took out his box of duckies and place it in front of them. "Wow! That's a lot of duckies,” said Bob. "Yes, I love them and have been collecting them ever since I was a small kitten" Scaredy Cat said with a smile. "Can I add something to your box of duckies?” Bob asked. "Sure" replied Scaredy Cat happily hoping for a new kind of ducky. Bob proceeds to place some cookies that he brought with him into the box and Scaredy Cat horrifyingly said "No! Don't put those there - cookies are not ducks. Hey - this gives me an idea of what to do next with our art challenge at the community center." "What? Cookies in a box?" Bob asked. "No, since cookies don't belong in the box of duckies, I’d like the art theme to be about something out of place. It'll be great to see what kind of things that are out of place through art,” said Scaredy Cat. "Something out of place" describes an object, person, or situation that does not seem to belong or fit in its current setting, appearing inappropriate, incongruous, or out of its proper arrangement. It suggests a lack of harmony or a mismatch with the surrounding environment or circumstances. For example, a formal painting in a minimalist room or someone feeling uncomfortable at a formal event might be described as out of place. So, for this week’s art challenge, show us how something that can be out of place. Good luck everyone.
