Uh oh! Sam Is Not A Happy Turtle
[desc=0] Captain Sam's Log: PnF - 9/4/2019
Yesterday, Sam tricked all of his Power Pets to go for a sail on his ship, but little did they know, Sam had a not so very nice plan for them. After sailing out into the icy sea, Sam put out the plank. The Power Pets curiously looked at what Sam was doing, but went on talking about their day at the competition.

"Listen up you horrible little urchins!" Sam shouted, whilst holding his gun in his hand. "I am now going to teach you all a valuable lesson! Sunday and Monday you all slacked off in the competition!" Sam was looking grouchy as he continued shouting. "You shamed yourselves as you lost to so many competitors! You let them win all of those precious pink star coins and now I will teach you a lesson that you will never forget!! Walk that plank! And remember you are to win, NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES!" All the pets saw Sam's gun and, one by one, did as they were told.

Torpedo is rather pleased though, because she thinks this is proof that Sam is much too old and musty now to defeat her and her turtle friends in the Distance Swimming event!

[desc=0] Captain Sam called an impromptu meeting of the Power Pets Sports Club at the Cat Parkour training ground. Everyone was nervous as they were still trembling at his wrath after they were CAUGHT cheating during the Fast and Furriest Games!

"I will be making an ANNOUNCEMENT on 20th," he said. "I would be doing it now, but a contract is a contract is a contract, unless you can afford a lawyer who can cheat." He frowned sadly; his main aspiration in life was to afford a lawyer who could cheat. "So be there on 20th", he growled, "and bring your suitcases."

[desc=0] To their horror, the Champions found Sam had invited an audience to the arena. Not only were they to hear his judgement, but they would also be getting an earful in front of hundreds of sports-obsessed pets.

"Step forward Claudia, Fleur and Stella!" thundered Sam. "you cheated the least ... and got caught the most! Your time here is over. You will be replaced at once."

As they wandered sadly away, and the crowd were murmuring "They got sacked for being CAUGHT?", Sam went on. "The rest of you are on notice. Wheover gets beat the most loses their contract. From now on, the three biggest losers will be leaving every month."

He turned to the crowd, expecting cheers. But instead, every pet just stared at him.

"I told you I would sack three a month, beginning with those who lost the most at solo play!" he bawled. "So what did you do? You refused to make an attempt in events! You cheated on me! You're all fired, right now! The new champions take over TODAY!"

Wheel Racing at the PnF Games 2022!
[desc=0] The Wheel Racing sport in the PnF Games 2022, is the only sport that can power the whole building. Speed and stamina are the keys to beating the competition in the Wheel Racing sport. The spectators hold their breath—as little legs run full out, and the wheels spin around at incredible rates. This sport goes by in a blur—it is truly exhilarating.

Cat Parkour at the PnF Games 2022!
[desc=0] During the PnF Games 2022 the sport of Cat Parkour will take place on a field that has been set up with some very tricky obstacles. For weeks now, pets have set up their own small courses and practiced leaping, stretching and jumping from point to point. Timing and speed are important in this sport, don't miscalculate the distance from one platform to the next and keep it steady and smooth. Distance Swimming at the PnF Games 2022!

The Dog-Athlon at the PnF Games 2022!
[desc=0] PnF Games 2022 has gone to the dogs. The Dog-Athlon that is. A lot of excited barks and yips have been heard of late around Petland. A dog-only sport that is fast and fun, as dogs compete against each other to see who is the top dog. Best of luck to all the dogs competing.

Horn Fencing at the PnF Games 2022!
[desc=0] Prete, Allez! The Horn Fencing bouts are taking place on the piste, outside the racing track. Always a crowd favourite. Spectators come to watch as the competitors lunge, parry and feint. Horn Fencing requires stamina, grace, and nimble footwork. Strolling around Petland; before the games, many pets were seen practicing with their trainers, honing their skills to best their competition and take home the coveted prizes. The Long Hop at the PnF Games 2022!
[desc=0] And, stretch, relax, stretch, relax. Are your legs all limber and ready? The Long Hop is taking place and all the pets that are participating have to make sure do to a thorough warm-up. It is not easy to hop great distances and all the pets want to hop the longest they possibly can. This is where visualization can come in handy, see yourself hopping further than any other pet, what does that feel like? You can do this. The PnF Games 2022 are really something special and all the pets have worked so hard to get to this point. Best of luck to all the fantastic hoppers that are entering.

Weightlifting at the PnF Games 2022!
[desc=0] Are your muscles ready? Get ready to lift. The Weightlifting sport takes place outside, on a large grassy expanse this year. Pets that are strong and love to show off how much weight they can lift have been practicing with rocks, logs and anything with enough weight to provide a challenge. Breathing is important in this sport, as is endurance. A smooth and steady lifting action is required when lifting weights so as to not injure oneself. The PnF Games 2022 is pleased to include weightlifting as one of the sports pets can compete in. Who will lift the most weight and place well enough to win a prize? Good luck to all those entering.

 The PnF Games 2020 had ended with a winners’ parade, with the audience enthusiastically cheering the most successful performers. Some celebrating pets were happily waving Victory Branches of all colours, or carrying away gold, silver and bronze Raspberry Award trophies; and rosettes of every hue could be seen fluttering in the breeze. Perhaps here and there could be spotted a few green Turtle Trophies? Those who hadn’t been fortunate vowed to practise harder and become better at their chosen sport, be it melodious birdsong, distance swimming or all points between, for next year. They could already visualise their cabinets at home bearing champions’ trophies!

As always, after the contestants and spectators had left for home, the clear-up of empty bottles of water and dropped snacks began. Jack Puppy started to peel off his blue Argyle sweater so as not to get it dirty, as he eyed the overflowing litter bin. However, Jake the Monkey was lurking ready to assist by pouncing on the discarded bananas! Sports drinks and coconut oil were all very well in their way, but you couldn't beat a nice banana ...

Congratulations to Nukhet's Fantastic Team of Pets, being the First To Win a Trophy. Not just a Trophy but The Magnificent Sam's Trophy

 While most pets would covet a trophy made of titanium or platinum, Everdean was excited to win a beautiful trophy made from green gold (NOT green mould). Beating all comers across 19 events, including Chewbie, Snookums, Fluffy, Ally, Idea, Moriarty, Swinger, Sir W, Scaredy and Rolf, Everdean marched proudly to finish line, justifiably proud of herself!

But our story doesn’t end there, because Sam had diligently polished this special trophy, every single day, never really believing he’d ever really ever have to give it away, so as he scratched his scaly head, he wondered if he super-glued it to hands, Everdean would accept a weather bonus umbrella instead? But no, that would never do, because in the interests of fair play, Everdean deserved her due!

So Sam handed over the trophy, glowing slimy green and bright, and with every ounce of effort, to hold back his tears of grief did Sam fight! But no matter anyway, because Everdean, a creature of the light, simply assumed that all of Sam’s tears were positive tears of delight!

 Not only has Sam retired to play nursemaid to a baby Sky Troll, the Mouse in Trousers has retired to live a quiet life teaching other young sky trolls how to behave. In their places we now have Samantha, Sam's daughter, who only recently discovered who her father was, and Alexander Mus, the MIT's nephew. They are inheriting one of the deepest friendships there has ever been between two NPCs ... let's hope they can take Power Pets forward, building on their forbears' success!
