The trees are changing colour and leaves are forming a carpet. There are numerous beautiful parks in Istanbul that you can leisurely stroll around.

With its colourful fellows, glad shade did it cast
Now it lies on the deck; for its glory is past.
But lives ever on, as iconic staple
For the land of the free, the Canadian maple.

Maple trees are common across the Northern Hemisphere, and the leaf has been adopted as the symbol of Canada. They are popular ornamental trees as during the autumn the leaves turn brilliant yellow, orange or even to bright red. The colour change is due to the breakdown of the green pigment chlorophyll, which masks the other colours for the rest of the year.

Safe inside your little cottage in the woods, you watch the leaves fall from the trees; a sign that winter is coming. It's a sunny autumn day, yet too chilly to wonder outdoors. Therefore, you are happy to stay inside and watch Nature change from the comfort of your home. Maybe you'll see a stag or deer come visit your home?

Frost covers the windows of your cottage, hinting that it is a chilly, crisp air outside. It must be windy, as you can see the leaves blowing against your window!

As you step onto the shore, you continue to enjoy the sunset and notice the host home close by! What a welcome sight after a long, but joyful day of hiking into a new realm!

The glorious colors of autumn overflow in profusion along the trail prompting a chorus of 'oohs' and 'ahs' among the travelers. We pause and stare in rapturous awe for a moment before proceeding.

The light leads us to the remnants of a paved gently undulating road shrouded with trees just beginning to lose their leaves. We wonder what pets have journeyed through here in times gone by.

As you look to your left, with the waterfall thundering to your right, you see how swiftly the river runs past you as you ensure you have enough stepping stones to get across. One wrong step and you may be staying somewhere further south than you planned!

It is nearing the end of autumn. The first snow had fallen weeks ago on grass that has been slowly dying. The lake began to freeze a month ago and the ice is almost thick enough for the yeti to stand on. Until then, he sits by the lake, enjoying the sounds of nature all around him. He hears big snowballs falling from the mountain in the distance. The sound of deer playing on the hardened ground is much closer and he smiles at the thought of the fun they are having. The deer are his friends, as are most creatures here by the mountain lake, as they are not afraid of his big stature because they know he is a gentle giant. Birds fly in and out of the trees, preparing nests to keep them warm in the upcoming winter. The yeti enjoys the songs they sing. There is a faint hint of water moving far below the ice and it adds a background melody to the birds’ songs. He is excited, as winter is coming which is his favorite time of year. So he sits and waits amongst natures finest creatures, waiting for the world to turn purely white.

Listening to the crunch of crisp leaves underfoot, and breathing the earthy smell of fall, the Eternal Fall Forest keeps everypet connected with nature.

Walking amongst the trees, their leaves changing into such vibrant colors of orange, yellow and red, you hear a stream. You follow the babbling sounds of the stream, and as you approach it, you notice a gently worn path with a bridge that crosses over the stream. The path leads way to a friendly fence that is guarding a pleasant looking cottage in the middle of the woods. The grass is still green, and the sun is shining. You wander who lives in such a perfect, peaceful place, so you decide to knock. After all, it's a cottage in the middle of the splendid Fall woods, so it must be safe!

Gazing at the wonder around you, you have never felt more at peace. The trees bare an abundance of Autumn colors: gold, amber, and apricot, which they shed so gently on the country ground. You can here the gentle breeze and the chirping of the birds. This is the home to so many wonderful creatures and you know you are lucky to be a part of their habitat. You enjoy the mostly quiet forest, and you realize that this is now your place of serenity. With the cool crisp air filling your lungs, and the crunch of the leaves beneath your feet, you hug the warmth of yourself and venture out for a walk.

On the road to nowhere, beside the Derwent Dam, lie quiet woods where no-one lives and few people go.
