If you and your pets take a walk into the forest outside of town, you will notice little clusters of happy mushrooms under each tree, and you will notice something else. Fairies, more fairies than you may be used to seeing.

There is no snow yet in the Fairy Forest, so before the snow falls, the fairies are busy visiting each other and deciding what magical spells they will use to decorate the trees in the forest this year.

It is such a beautiful forest my pets can't wait to see what it will look like when the fairies are finished decorating.

Wow, are you thinking about living on a ranch? This looks like a great place to live with your pets. Where will you build the house, and what style do you like best? Will you raise sheep, cuddly, fluffy sheep whose wool makes wonderfully warm sweaters, or cows for their delicious milk? Maybe you would like to fill the ranch with alpacas or horses. In this chapter we explore a mixture of real-life Worlds, mazes and labyrinths, Hobbit houses, orienteering unfamiliar landscapes, objects used in writing or illustrating stories or long letters by hand (e.g. quill pens, fountain pens, sealing wax, paper, ink), plus a few quirky images to explore spinning a yarn. What will you see when you open the door and go inside?

The perfect party location has been found. A large grass-covered field, close to town, so that all the pets can easily walk to the party. The grass is smooth and the area is surrounded by low bushes, to help dampen any sounds from the music. There is plenty of room for games, food tables, dancing, and a band. What are you waiting for, get those invitations out to all the pets and set up your end-of-summer party the way you have always wanted. Where did I put my dancing shoes?

During the rainy season, the swamp is much deeper and perfect for hiding those hippos while they hide from the hot hot sun!

Lots of opportunity to escape from the hot sun here in this swampy area. During the rainy season, the swamp is much cleaner and deeper. Come hop in the water to cool off, or plop down under a tree for some shade. Either way, you must get out of the sun!

If autumn is your favorite season then a trip through New Hampshire is an amazing experience. It truly is a leaf peeper's paradise!

After a day of hiking or biking throughout the rugged nearby trails, this dock offers the perfect spot for taking a dip into the chilly glacier-fed waters of Lost Lake.

This is a "The hills are alive with the sound of music" backdrop if ever there was one! It is situated in Villnöß, Funes, South Tyrol, Italy. It has a German name and most people here speak German as their first language rather than Italian.

Imagine living and working on the slopes of this mountain range, far from the nearest town, with the chamois and other wildlife as your companions! The peace and being at one with nature must make up for the lack of mod cons.

The pets have a very varied tour taking in the magnificence of Rome and Vatican City, romantic Florence, and also Siena, and the vineyards of Tuscany. They will come across another very stylish icon of the Italian automobile industry! There will be opportunities to explore winding backstreets with a choice of Italian eateries! Other sights are Cinque Terre, with its colourful jumble of houses, and for sea-lovers, visits to coastal lighthouses, including one in Genoa. One exciting point will be viewing a flypast of the Frecce Tricolori, the Italian airforce aerobatic fleet!

We go island-hopping off the "boot" of Italy on Sardinia and Sicily! There is so much for the pets to enjoy here, from the dozens of flawless sandy beaches, vibrant, colourful houses and special flora and fauna. The architecture reflects the melting pot of travellers from ancient empires of Europe, Africa and the Middle East that used the islands as a stopping-off place—the Byzantines, Phoenicians and of course, the Spanish, all of whom have left their mark. The water is perfectly clear, making it ultra-inviting for pets who want to try their paw at snorkling! And there's a banger of a surprise on Sicily, home to Europe's largest volcano, Mount Etna! It's classed as active, but pets need have no fear—that just means it's erupted once since the last Ice Age! Rest assured, your picnics will not be disturbed!

We start by unashamedly concentrating on the beautiful water city of Venice from dawn to night life, and experience delights from gondola trips on the canals, viewing quaint little bridges and magnificent architecture, to a visit to the grand Opera House. The pets will round off their Venetian tour with a visit to the famous Murano glass factory! We then move on to a colourful little town outside Venice before completing this leg of the trip by visiting scenes of a very different nature in the mountainous South Tyrol and Dolomites.

The pets will here explore the vineyards of Piedmont; the birthplace of the Fiat 500 in Turin; the many delights of fashion capital Milan; Lake Como and Lake Garda. They will experience the scary hairpin bends of the Tyrolean Stelvio Pass and meet a curly-horned guardian of the Dolomites. Also to be seen is one of the most beautiful old villages in Italy and a very posh palace!

In this part of the trip, the pets will explore sights ranging from narrow village backstreets to the famous Arco san Felice in Puglia and the Isle of Capri. They will see iconic Italian vehicles such as the tiny Fiat 500 and the Vespa scooter. Along the way they come across Italian flora and fauna, and have ample opportunity to sample the best of Italian cuisine, not only pizza, pasta and delicious gelati but dishes made with freshly picked lemons and grapes! But let's hope they're not kept awake by too much espresso!

Birds soaring high above grazing farmland and crops get an entirely different view of things than if they were on the ground. One could take a lesson or two from the birds to get a different outlook on a number of topics.

When one thinks of the word verdant, images of the city don't often come to mind. This cityscape is different. The buildings are green in appearance because the windows mirror the color of the many plants and trees planted in abundance throughout.

Bangor is the oldest city in Wales and is well worth a week's visit, let alone a day trip! The North Wales Path (Llwybr y Gogledd) is a long-distance walk of some 60 miles (97 km) that runs close to the coast of northern Wales between Prestatyn in the east and Bangor in the west.

This coastal landscape in Northern Ireland looks towards the Atlantic Ocean with the gate lodge ruins on small peninsula at Dunseverick, close to Giants Causeway in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.

Nestled in the pocket off a lesser traveled road, the beautiful falls in Glencoe, County Donegal. Known to the locals as a place to search for the leprechauns' gold, as there is frequently misting rainbows in the overspray.

The Irish Republic, or Eire, as it's called in Irish Gaelic, is not, of course, part of the UK; it is an independent country, but geographically belongs to what are known as the British Isles. Ireland is well known for many things, from Oscar Wilde and George Bernard Shaw, Guinness and Irish whiskey, colcannon and soda bread, music, song and Riverdance, folklore, leprechauns and the legendary Irish hospitality.

The pets enjoy a tranquil Hertfordshire landscape before moving south towards London. They see the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew and then move on to central London to visit iconic sights. Mind the Gap—they take a trip on the Tube to Baker Street, home of the legendary Sherlock Holmes! They see a typical London pub and see some friendly bobbies guarding the Palace. The pets will then head east to visit a football ground and the scene of a yearly pop festival before finishing the tour in the tranquil surroundings of a mediaeval cathedral city.

The pets start their journey in Derbyshire, in the east Midlands, and travel up to see the base of the famous Red Arrows aerobatic display team before moving on to the Peak District. From there they explore Cheshire and Lancashire and the Lake District National Park. They can enjoy visits to popular seaside resorts on the west and east coasts, and will see York, one of England’s finest and most beautiful historic cities, called Jorvik by Viking invaders who settled there. They then travel up the North Yorkshire coast spotting British fauna and flora before stopping at Newcastle on Tyne for a final night before crossing the border into bonnie Scotland!

Welcome to England! The pets cross the Welsh border to visit a nearby cathedral city and then the county of Shakespeare's birth before heading south to see a very different birthplace—that of an iconic British motor car in 1948, still in use today. Going further south the pets will enjoy two counties very popular as summer holiday resorts, have the opportunity to go on a hot air balloon ride, and to visit Dartmoor—let's hope the Hound of the Baskervilles isn't lurking! They will see wild ponies and have a glimpse of England's friendly national bird, known to every gardener. Moving further along the south coast, the pets will visit an exotic royal retreat in the Chinese and Indian style and a typical seaside pier.

Welcome to Northern Ireland! The official flag of this country is the Union Flag, but St Patrick's Saltire (a red diagonal cross on a white field) represents Northern Ireland on the Union Flag. After arriving at the busy port of Belfast, home of the Titanic, the pets will have an extremely varied trip, viewing not only Neolithic sites and a wonder of the world dating back 50 million years, but they will also enjoy lots of bracing fresh air, viewing castles and coastlines! In the evenings, perhaps they will enjoy some legendary Northern Irish music with traditional meals in the local taverns.

Fàilte gu Alba! Welcome to Scotland! The pets will enjoy a varied tour, taking in the capital, Edinburgh, lochs and lighthouses, castles and keeps, waterfalls and winged wildlife, some rugged Highland scenes and they will see marvels of engineering. They will sample Scottish cuisine, perhaps cullen skink or cranachan. But will they be able to resist the lure of deep fried Mars Bars?

Croeso i Gymru! Welcome to Wales! The pets' journey of the British Isles begins in the home of castles, choirs and Celtic myth; of legends, the longbow and language of the Welsh; of rain, rugby and racing; of dragons, daffodils and deer. With three National Parks and five Areas of Outstanding Beauty to explore, your pet will find that scenic Wales, with its mild climate, is the perfect place for a spring holiday! So—as our pets disembark on the north coast, clutching passpets and perhaps a Welsh phrasebook to try out the local lingo, let's see what sights they will enjoy on their tour! They will visit attractions ranging from a tiny house to large castles, and enjoy rambling through wide open spaces and waterfalls with picnic lunches of local cheeses and bara brith and evening meals of leek and potato soup and Welsh rarebit. On the last evening, in a mediaeval town near the border with England, the pets will enjoy traditional meal popular throughout Britain before retiring to their hotel for the night.

This once farming-town had a city pop up almost overnight! Too bad no one warned them of the local dust storms.

Tired on a trail or feeling like sitting down and taking it all in? A bench in the woods is your answer. Usually, they are located with a scenic view: an overlook or a pond. Sometimes, you'll find a bench in the woods at spots after the trail had just been a challenge. Maybe some critters will cross your path or sing from the branches above. Maybe you'll see something familiar in a whole new way. Resting on a bench in the woods is a really good idea.

Stroll through the soft white sand and down the boardwalk to relax under a pavilion in paradise. Lunch will be served soon. Until then, step into the clear turquoise waters and feel the gentle waves caressing your skin.

The warming of the sun has brought forth new life within this once barren tree. Fresh green leaves flutter with the cool spring breeze. Soon birds will nest in the branches and bring forth yet another brood of young to add to the cycle of life.
