A trusted friend of Scaredy Cat, he knows he should be brave, and he tries very hard to protect others he loves. But if being brave was easy, it wouldn’t be bravery at all! It’s hard to stay still when you’re nuts about food. You turn a corner and run straight into some pet. “Oof, sorry, I was going too fast and did not see you.”
You look up; it is none other than the mysterious black cat.
You jump back as she raises her sabre. She makes toward you. “There he is, quick, follow me. I see you found a sword.”

“Why are you doing this?” you huff as you try to keep up.

“What! You are chasing this orange cat all over PnF land to invite him to lunch. I thought he had done some unspeakable crime.”
“Oh, no,” laughed the mysterious black cat. He is an outstanding orange cat, and I am quite fond of him, but I can never find him, and it is a long time since he and I compared notes and had a cozy chat.”

You wave off the mysterious black cat in the high red boots. “Go! I don’t want to follow you anymore. I hope you find the orange cat. All this for a lunch date.” You turn and walk away, shaking your head. The mystery is solved.

I fell asleep with paws curled, eyes closed, and ears flopped over my head. I was so tired from a morning of leaping about looking for carrots. I entered a dream; I am sure it was a dream. The mist of dozing gave way to the clarity of dreamland, and suddenly I was in a whole other world.
This was my street with my house, but there were houses I had never seen before, a house of straw and a house of brick with little pigs running around. I walked, in my dream, and saw a wolf holding a dandelion and huffing at it, sending seeds sailing into the air. Farther on, I spied some sheep all black of wool and looking neat, with piles of fur at their feet. Along the lane, I saw a cat in fancy dress with a floppy hat, and that cat carried a sword. That cat looked so jaunty that I had to follow.
The cat led me to a goose surrounded by baby pets, all listening raptly to stories told. I wandered, in my dream, to a house with flower bowers, and when the door opened, a wolf in a nightdress smiled at me. I passed a well and a clock, which made me stop and think. What did this dream mean, and where would it end?

First, my paw twitched; then my ear wiggled, and then one green eye slowly opened. What is this? Oh, I must be awake now. I was dreaming such a dream. I wanted to stay; I wanted to leave.
I will lay here a little longer and plan my day. There are so many things I want to do, so many things I could do. First, I should go see how the carrots are growing; I might be able to get a nibble for my breakfast. After that, I would like to hop down to the pond and say hello to the fish and the frogs. After that, I will see how the day goes. I have never known a day where something fun did not appear.

Oh! Pardon me. I did not see you arrive. I was looking out over the fields. Do you see it? The crops are growing well. Soon I will have plenty of carrots and lettuce to eat. That delicate green that blankets the field fills my bunny heart with joy. I can’t think of much in my world that brings more happiness than the thought of little plants growing into luscious food that I can eat.
Shall we go down and take a closer look?

Today is a glorious day. The sun is starting to peek above the horizon. It is time for my early morning run. I run for the exercise. I run because I love to run and feel the wind rush past my ears. I run because I need to check on all the fallen logs in the forest to see if anything tasty is hidden there. I run because I have an abundance of energy.
This afternoon, I will most likely be ready for a long nap. This is the way for bears. We go until we don’t. I would be pleased for you to join me in my early morning run.

You have followed the mysterious black cat, but before you can find out where the cat is going, the red-booted cat turns to look at you.
“We have to stop meeting like this. The mysterious cat in the high red boots holds up the sabre. “Be off with you. This is not something that concerns you.” The cat pauses, “Unless you have news of that orange cat.”

You step backward holding up your hands to show you mean no harm and shake your head. “I have not seen an orange cat. I don’t know why I followed you. Curiosity is all I can think of. I have never seen anyone like you in PnF town. Anyone would be curious.”

“I have to be off, I am on an important mission, and I must find that darn cat. If you insist on following me, at least get a sword and remember the stories about what curiosity can do.”
With that being said, the mysterious black cat in the high red boots vaulted onto a roof and raced away.

An old bear is a wise bear, and this bear is very wise indeed. He has seen a lot in all his years, and he has made friends with all who live in PnF land. He loves to sit and think about things. He will sit for hours to think about how the body moves when playing a sport, and how the wind can affect the outcome if the grass is wet or dry. If the rain is falling or if the sun is in the player's eyes.

If you see this bear gazing off into the distance, keep walking; this old bear is deep in thought, and even a pot of honey will not bring him out of his thoughts.

There is an old yellow bear, you may have seen him walking around town, but you have surely seen him when you attend the PnF sporting events. This old bear loves sports, and even though he cannot participate as he did in his younger years, he loves to raise a paw and cheer on the participants while yelling out, “Reach for the stars.”

When you are as old as this silly old bear is, and when you have lived in a place for a long time, you make friends with everyone. This old bear spends lots of time talking to all the pets who live in PnF land.

He loves to chat about the weather, the different flavour honey has depending on the types of flowers the bees visited, and this old bear loves to discuss the PnF games, how the participants are doing and what their dreams are, and what new games could be added. Maybe a honey-tasting event; that is one game this old bear could participate in.

When I need a new house, which is at least once a year because straw does not last long, but when the wind blows when the ground shakes…pardon? Huff and puff? What is this huff and puff? Oh, a wolf, you think a wolf can blow down a house? I assure you this is not the case. In fact, the wolves of PnF—that live up amongst the trees on that mountain— are good friends of ours.

Three little pigs are we. I am the middle pig, and I love sticks and wood in general. I tend the orchard and all the trees in the small forest behind our houses. Gathering up old branches and nurturing the new saplings is my job. I turn the branches into sticks, which is what I use to make my house.
A stick house stands up pretty well to most…a wolf; you heard a story about a wolf blowing down pig's houses. That does not happen around here. Where is this place that a wolf would do that to a pig? Come along with me, and I will show you my forest and orchard.

Three little pigs are we. I am the youngest pig. I love to play in the mud. We have the most wonderful wallow—near the barn where my oldest brother stores his hay—where I like to roll around, and I also use the mud to make bricks. Oh yes, you can make bricks using mud. It makes a marvelous sturdy house. A wolf? You are worried a wolf will come along and blow my house down. What a strange idea. Please, don’t have any worries on that score; the wolves around here are very friendly.
Would you like to come along and see how I make the bricks? You can even roll around in the mud if you like, it feels terrific.

Oink! Good day to you. Did you come to help out with the building? I am here to help build and take care of anything that needs to be taken care of. The three brother pigs are hard at work designing and building their new homes. We won’t talk about what happened to their old homes.
Some days, I have to help gather straw, and some days I have to make mud bricks, which is my favourite job. On other days, I might gather sticks from the forest. Then again, there are days I have to help with the actual building. Sometimes I get to work on the roof; working with straw is the easiest roof to make. I have also placed windows and doors; I am getting quite good at that now, and I have had a lot of practice.
With all the knowledge I have gained in helping out the three brothers, I can now build my own home too. It is going to be a marvellous sight when all the houses are built. So can you help me fill this wagon with some sticks?
