This rocky bay provides the perfect place for anypet to rest, play with the numerous pebbles and watch the changing patterns of sunlight on the stone outcrops and distant peaks, or perhaps to dip a cautious paw into the unceasing sea waves running in and back out.

While Randy soaked in the view, Noelle was searching her backpack for the bug spray, certain that her fur would be crawling with little biting critters once the sun went down!

Anypet will enjoy exploring the sand dunes with their sharply pointed grey-green leaves and large spikes of creamy-yellow flowers of marram grass in the summer, the backdrop to a sandy beach and the sea.

Randy had to travel on alone, as Stella declared she had found her nirvana, and had no intention of moving on!

This beautiful little bay is irresistible to pets who can’t wait to scamper or flap over the golden sand to get to the top of the stony peninsula and gaze far out to the horizon over the sea.

Randy tumbled out of the tourist bus, flattening Bibbi in the process, then wondering where the muffled groans were coming from?

Nopet can resist clambering or flying to the top of this ancient look-out point over the undulating countryside to shout, “I’m the King of the Castle!”

Randy moved on to shake the next paw, oblivious to the fact that he'd also shaken Cumulus, who had wandered off to pick wildflowers along the way...

This bay is just the place for an early morning excursion beside the sea; a peaceful place to share with the scavenging birds; ideal for contemplation.

As birds fly home to roost and busy pets retire for the night, the West Pasture in Aegis becomes darker and quiet in the setting sun, waiting for the first stirrings from nocturnal pets who are active during the night.

On Sunday afternoons, many pets take an excursion in the formal gardens, which display the Dutch influence of bright tulips making a fine splash of colour against the immaculate lawn.

Randy finally makes it back to the landing stage, where Choose a name is also about to embark and go home. What an adventure it has been! Randy pockets a map of Aegis as a momento. The guidebook says:
Island: Aegis
When their vessel carefully manoeuvres past the rocks to reach the landing stage, the pets can jump out and explore this delightful little island. There are beautiful, relaxing sandy beaches, rocky hills to climb, a viaduct and old castle ruin to explore, green pastures to take a picnic hamper, woods and forests to ramble in, rivers to jump over, apples to pick and there are flowers galore!
