@ Tunnel of Maple Trees
Kibbles and Choose a name are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Autumn in Amber
Autumn has well been described by Keats as the "Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness" and pets will here enjoy a ramble through woods with tumbling golden and orange leaves. They can gather hazelnuts, horse chestnuts and fruits, and perhaps forage for mushrooms and dill. Then there are vast fields of wild flowers to explore, and an opportunity to admire the sunset while resting by a rustic barn. Watch your paws or claws crossing the river on the stepping stones—but perhaps splashing in the swirling water is part of the fun!

As you near this autumn realm and hear the thunder of the falls close by, you get to walk through a vividly colorful tunnel of maple leaves with the light of the evening sun at the tunnel's end to attract you further.

@ Silhouette of Flowers at Sunset
Kibbles and Fin agreed that the variety of scenery on their Autumn Experience trip was the best ever! They exchanged opinions on which their favourite scene had been so far, and which was the most delicious harvest food they had eaten in their travels!

As you step out of the tunnel of fall-colored leaves, you are greeted with even more beauty to behold as you see flowers silhouetted by the setting sun. Now you know that the day's journey is almost done!

“I’ve written a postcard to Mrs Eucalyptus about this amazing Autumn Experience!” said Kibbles. “She’ll wish she were here! Where’s the nearest postbox?”
CatchThis18 shielded his eyes and rotated 360°, elaborately scanning the horizon. “I don’t know how it comes about, but they appear not to have thought to provide a postbox here, Kibbles. How remiss of them!” Seeing Kibbles’s ears beginning to droop, CatchThis18 added, “Don’t worry, you can post your card after this leg of the Experience!”

As you look further past where you are now standing, you see a vast farm field to cross with welcoming trees and hillsides awaiting.

You pause for a moment to make sure that the pictures you've been taking of your breath-taking journey today have been capturing what your eyes have been seeing. Even though there is so much beauty for just two eyes to take in, you are pleased with your photos thus far, especially of the light at the end of the tunnel of maple trees!

@ Handful of Horse Chestnuts
Sophia and Kibbles shook paws with each other and compared notes as to how their respective trips had gone so far, and which was the most delicious harvest item they had each come across.

Not only were you enveloped with maple trees, but you also saw some chestnut trees mixed within, and so you grabbed a handful of chestnuts as a souvenir!

@ Bouquet of Fall Flowers
“These make a fine display, don’t they, Kibbles?” said Hermione, when she and Kibbles had shaken paws.

As you left the woods, with another tree line to your left, you noticed some large blooms of wildflowers along the edge of the trees, and so you picked a few to spruce up your room when you settle in later in the evening.

Julius was hailed by Kibbles, who had also just arrived on the scene. “What a great view, Julius!” said Kibbles. “I could stay here for hours!”

@ White Rose and Pink Daisy
"I think I'll take a cutting of the plant in that tub over there," said Kibbles. The label says it's 'vigorous' and 'fearless'."
Dave sniffed. "That's gardeners' talk for 'an invasive species that will take over your entire garden if permitted'!"

With all of the flowers you are admiring, you almost forgot the ones you picked up in the autumn realm of green that morning. You check to be sure they are still fresh - and they are! - and remember that you have a note to fill out for tonight's host.

@ Wild White Mushrooms
Kibbles was excited by seeing all the different harvest produce. “I’m going to apply for an allotment and start growing my own food!” he announced to Dragoon, when they met and shook paws.

Continuing on the path, you notice along the tree line something white. Not sure if you were seeing flowers, you approach and find that they are wild mushrooms, the edible kind, and so you grab a few to add to a possible stew later in the evening!

Whoot bent down to sniff the flower in front of her but recoiled hastily. “What’s up, Whoot?” asked Kibbles.
“There’s a huge bumblebee on it!” said Whoot.

@ Running River After the Waterfall
Kibbles was in a hurry to move along and shake some more paws, but Julia decided to stay where she was for a while, and sketch the scenery for this week's Art Challenge!

As you look to your left, with the waterfall thundering to your right, you see how swiftly the river runs past you as you ensure you have enough stepping stones to get across. One wrong step and you may be staying somewhere further south than you planned!

@ Orange You Glad It's Snack Time?
“These are great as a cake flavouring,” said Kibbles.
“You can add it to savoury dishes as well. It’s very versatile,” observed Marley.

As you settle in on your second rock in your river crossing, you remember that your host from last night in the autumn realm of green gave you fresh oranges plucked right off of a tree in their own backyard! Time to get refreshed!

As you make your way to the next rock, you noticed flower blooms and leaves floating by. The leaves may have fallen from trees and were blown into the water, perhaps before the waterfall. You stretch out your paw and snag a twig of orange-colored leaves to stick out of your backpack!

@ Plucked Flowers Floating By Too!
“Isn’t this amazing, Morri?” declared Kibbles. “I’m seeing so many flowers and shrubs that I’ve never seen before!”

After you cross to your next rock, with the shore almost within reach, you decide to add to your collection of souvenirs by grabbing some of the plucked blooms floating by and wrapping them in paper for safe keeping. These were put in the water by young pets in the autumn realm of green, hoping they would float and float for a long distance.

@ Plenty of Nuts
“Great to meet you again, Minnie the Moo-cher!” said Kibbles. “Come and have some of this farm-grown organic food—it’s absolutely yummy!”

As you jump and thump from rock to rock, you check your supply of hazelnuts after noticing you hadn't closed your container as well as you thought! Whew! Most are still there!

“I’m going to ask if I can take a cutting of this,” Ali Haider said to Kibbles. “This would look just fine in a half barrel in my front garden!”

“You know, Cicero said 'If you have a garden and a library you have everything you need',” mused Daba.
"I don't think I've met Cicero," said Kibbles. "Is he on this tour?"

Svaha greeted Kibbles cheerily, recommending he expended some silver moles on the fresh harvest food before them.

Koolio Sun and Kibbles, after shaking paws, admired the crop of harvest produce in front of them. “I didn’t know it looked like that just after harvest,” said Kibbles. “I’ve only seen it in the shops!”

"I wish I knew more about horticulture, Rosa" said Kibbles. "Sometimes I can't tell if something's a plant or a weed!"
"Oh, there's a sure-fire way of telling the difference, Kibbles! Pull on it—if it comes out of the ground easily, it's a really valuable plant.”

Kibbles is enjoying the Autumn Experience when Wuzzle comes along. "Look! A special prize!" says Wuzzle. Kibbles looks down and sees something valuable. Wuzzle generously lets Kibbles keep it!
