The first painted eggs came from Mesopotamia, and because eggs were forbidden food during Lent, people painted eggs while Lent was being observed—after Lent, they would eat the eggs on Easter Day.

Beautifully decorated eggs “pysanka” are associated with Ukraine, and the oldest painted egg that was unearthed in northern Ukraine is dated to the end of the 17th century.

"Mmm. Or would it be the hummingbird, maybe?"

If you can't spell Echidna, you can just type in spiny anteater! Because they are my favorite dinner! AND what makes me special, I am a mammal that lays eggs! Those platypus' get all the limelight!

“Ooh, it's just starting to get a bit cool, Legendary Dragon Slayer!” said Arthur. “Can you hold my map and itinerary while I dig out my scarf?"
Legendary Dragon Slayer good-naturedly took charge of Arthur's possessions while he emptied his rucksack of a pack of sandwiches wrapped in greaseproof paper, a Thermos flask, a pair of galoshes, a bag of chocolate peanuts, a paperback thriller, a bottle of orange squash, an address book, some postage stamps, an assortment of different coloured biros, a bottle opener, a couple of old bus tickets, a handful of golden and silver moles, a door key, some very old receipts, a screwdriver, a bottle of multivitamins, a lottery ticket and a selection of rather battered sachets of salt, sugar and salad cream before locating the scarf right at the bottom. This he donned and then Legendary Dragon Slayer helped him put everything back in his rucksack.

fancy was distracted by the sounds of loud rustling as Legendary Dragon Slayer unfolded a very large tourist map, in the course of which she succeeded in knocking fancy’s sunhat off.
“Put that away, do!” said fancy, in some irritation. “We’re about to pose with this amazing creature—the picture will be of your map if you don’t fold it up pronto!”

Well, not just an ordinary cicada, I'm a Canthgaster Cicada! Look at me with my nose in the air, why, some might think I'm a bit stuffy! But honestly, I'm just following my nose to the best eating spots!

Nocturnal by nature, you'll find me hiding by day in the dark leafy greens in your garden. We tried to ramp up our street cred by saying we were vampires, but we lacked the fangs to back up the claim.
