Episode 1/25

@ Scarlet Pathway
Drippy and Landon are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Autumn in Purple
A country ramble awaits the pets and after exploring woodland paths, a small settlement will be found. At the spice store they will find cinnamon, chillies, star anise and chestnuts, plus purple flowers for perfumery. They will skirt a small lake before seeing a host of pink and purple-hued flowers and plants. Don't forget to grab an apple or two to munch as you head out onto the next stage of our tour!

As we begin our journey we are welcomed by a wonderful scarlet pathway. With the vivid canopy above, the crunchy leaves under our feet, and the sun-kissed trees on the side of the trail, we anticipate what beauty lies ahead.

Episode 2/25

@ Illusion of Nightfall
“What have you got in your tote bag, Katrice?” asked Drippy. “It looks very full!”
“I’ve come prepared for anything the weather can throw at us, Drippy,” responded Katrice. “There’s deck shoes, snowshoes, tennis shoes, flip-flops, flippers, walking boots, Wellington boots—you name them, I’ve got them!”
Illusion of Nightfall
Proceeding along the trail something unexpected happens right away. The canopy becomes so dense it gives the illusion of impending nightfall. The light beckons you ahead.

@ Undulating Road
Antipodes was hailed by Drippy, who had also just arrived on the scene. “What a great view, Antipodes!” said Drippy. “I could stay here for hours!”

The light leads us to the remnants of a paved gently undulating road shrouded with trees just beginning to lose their leaves. We wonder what pets have journeyed through here in times gone by.

@ Autumn Rice Field
“Let’s pose with one of us at each side and I’ll set the self-timer to take a shot,” said Drippy to Tiara Maxwell. “It’ll be a wonderful souvenir of our time here!”

This journey is definitely full of surprises! One never knows what to expect as they round the bend of life and this rice field is the perfect example. Who knew rice could grow here in the cool autumn temperatures?

@ Sunlight Road
“Shall we take a selfie?” Drippy asked Odyssey as they drank in the peaceful scene and admired each other’s purchases of harvest produce.

The undulating road has smoothed out and we are bathed in the warm rays of sunshine as they illuminate the path ahead and the glory of the autumn leaves.

@ Wild Blueberries
“I hope we can buy more of this at our local farmer's market,” observed Drippy, as he and Noctema tucked into a delicious food sample!

Just as your tummy begins to rumble you spot these deeply colored wild blueberries in the brush beside the trail. The color is much deeper than the berries you have seen at the market and your mouth begins to water. Perfect timing and oh-so-refreshing!

@ Fresh Chestnuts
Drippy and Olivia shook paws before sitting down to enjoy an autumnal harvest snack. “There’s nothing like farm-fresh food, is there, Drippy?” said Olivia.

As soon as my eyes catch the sight of these baskets of freshly harvested chestnuts, washed and ready to purchase, a familiar song gets stuck in my head. Is it too early to sing Christmas carols?

@ Vision in Violet
“I’m going to ask if I can take a cutting of this,” RUMLIA said to Drippy. “This would look just fine in a half barrel in my front garden!”

Pets who love the color purple will be captivated by the intense color of this gorgeous violet flower. The vendor claims it will last for weeks as a cut flower so no reason to leave without buying a bouquet.

@ Cinnamon Sticks and Star Anise
cuddles and Drippy counted out their silver moles and bought some of the harvest food. “That one wins first prize for me!” declared cuddles.

Nothing smells like autumn like the aroma of hot spiced apple cider. Combine cinnamon sticks, star anise, oranges studded with whole cloves, brown sugar, allspice, nutmeg, and apple cider into a pot and steep them all together for a favorite fall drink.

“What’s this flower called?” Drippy said to Flu Flu. “Er—I only know the Latin name for it,” said Flu Flu and hastily changed the subject.

“This reminds me of Meadowlands,” observed Drippy, musing as he and Miss Tan took a moment to admire the produce beside them. “Such a lovely, peaceful scene.”

@ Log Cabin in the Woods
Drippy opened his rucksack to change his hat. Isabella could see Drippy had a baseball cap, a sombrero, a beret, a straw boater, a cricket cap, a sou'wester, a large, floppy sunhat and a pith helmet!
“Did you bring a mortarboard too?” Isabella asked Drippy.
Log Cabin in the Woods
Ahhh, here it is, our lodging for tonight. We came upon this log cabin just in time as I need to stop and rest awhile. This cozy cabin in the woods looks so warm and inviting. We should get a good night's sleep in this peaceful spot! I do hope they have a porch swing to relax on!

@ Sunset Field
Drippy and Crowley, having shaken paws, got so engrossed in conversation about the beautiful scenery that they had to hurry along so as not to be left behind! They regretfully bade au revoir and auf Wiedersehen to each other!

Bill bent down to sniff the flower in front of him but recoiled hastily. “What’s up, Bill?” asked Drippy.
“There’s a huge bumblebee on it!” said Bill.

“These make a fine display, don’t they, Drippy?” said Jade, when she and Drippy had shaken paws.

What an extremely rare sight! I bet you didn't know there was a variety of lilacs that blooms in the fall. Well, there is! It's called Josee Reblooming Lilac. Lilacs, not just for spring anymore!

"I wish I knew more about horticulture, Sabrina" said Drippy. "Sometimes I can't tell if something's a plant or a weed!"
"Oh, there's a sure-fire way of telling the difference, Drippy! Pull on it—if it comes out of the ground easily, it's a really valuable plant.”

“I could stay here forever, Drippy,” said Kacey. “This is an amazing place!”

@ Candle and Purple Flower
"How on earth do you identify what this is from the thousands of things it could be?" asked Aki.
"Well," said Drippy, "you go through a checklist. Like what sort of leaves does it have, how are they arranged on the stem, do they have stalks, what's its habitat; that kind of thing. I'll lend you a book when we get home."

Casper bent down to sniff the flower in front of him but recoiled hastily. “What’s up, Casper?” asked Drippy.

"This is a glorious specimen, Jade", observed Drippy. "What a shame that in a month or so all this colour will be gone!"
"You know the best way to get colour in your garden all year, Drippy?" said Jade. "Buy a garden gnome!"

“Hey, Yay!” called out Drippy. “Come and have some of this—it’s delicious!”
Yay was glad to rest and enjoy the food Drippy shared with him.

Pale pink and dark purple leaves make this a quite dramatic poinsettia plant! And no, it's not too early to think about poinsettias because if we want them to look like this they need to be placed into a dark room several months before Christmas so that the leaves change colors.

Drippy and Tiara Maxwell shook paws, then looked around in awe, wishing they hadn’t already eaten their lunch! This was the most perfect place for a picnic!
