@ Tunnel of Maple Trees
Butterfree and Laila Lu are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Autumn in Amber
Autumn has well been described by Keats as the "Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness" and pets will here enjoy a ramble through woods with tumbling golden and orange leaves. They can gather hazelnuts, horse chestnuts and fruits, and perhaps forage for mushrooms and dill. Then there are vast fields of wild flowers to explore, and an opportunity to admire the sunset while resting by a rustic barn. Watch your paws or claws crossing the river on the stepping stones—but perhaps splashing in the swirling water is part of the fun!

As you near this autumn realm and hear the thunder of the falls close by, you get to walk through a vividly colorful tunnel of maple leaves with the light of the evening sun at the tunnel's end to attract you further.

@ Silhouette of Flowers at Sunset
Butterfree and Silk were so rapt gazing at the scenery they almost forgot to shake paws before moving on to the next stage!

As you step out of the tunnel of fall-colored leaves, you are greeted with even more beauty to behold as you see flowers silhouetted by the setting sun. Now you know that the day's journey is almost done!

"Put your camera down for a minute, Butterfree," said Esmeralda, "and just drink in that view!"

Butterfree and BoBo agreed that the variety of scenery on their Autumn Experience trip was the best ever! They exchanged opinions on which their favourite scene had been so far, and which was the most delicious harvest food they had eaten in their travels!

Even though there is so much beauty for just two eyes to take in, you are pleased with your photos thus far, especially of the light at the end of the tunnel of maple trees!

@ Handful of Horse Chestnuts
Butterfree and HappyCheerling shook paws before sitting down to enjoy an autumnal harvest snack. “There’s nothing like farm-fresh food, is there, Butterfree?” said HappyCheerling.

Not only were you enveloped with maple trees, but you also saw some chestnut trees mixed within, and so you grabbed a handful of chestnuts as a souvenir!

@ Bouquet of Fall Flowers
“My uncle grows these in his back garden,” observed Butterfree.
“Wow! He must surely have green fingers!” replied Kia.

As you left the woods, with another tree line to your left, you noticed some large blooms of wildflowers along the edge of the trees, and so you picked a few to spruce up your room when you settle in later in the evening.

Butterfree tumbled out of the Autumn Experience tourist bus, almost flattening Miss Mousse in the process, then she wondered where the muffled groans were coming from!

As you continue through the field, you choose to leave the daintier purple flowers alone, simply enjoying their fragrance and their beauty in the evening sun.

@ White Rose and Pink Daisy
Choose a name bent down to sniff the flower in front of her but recoiled hastily. “What’s up, Choose a name?” asked Butterfree.
“There’s a huge bumblebee on it!” said Choose a name.

With all of the flowers you are admiring, you almost forgot the ones you picked up in the autumn realm of green that morning. You check to be sure they are still fresh - and they are! - and remember that you have a note to fill out for tonight's host.

@ Wild White Mushrooms
Jubb Jubb and Butterfree counted out their silver moles and bought some of the harvest food. “That one wins first prize for me!” declared Jubb Jubb.

Continuing on the path, you notice along the tree line something white. Not sure if you were seeing flowers, you approach and find that they are wild mushrooms, the edible kind, and so you grab a few to add to a possible stew later in the evening!

Butterfree normally avoided tourist hotspots but she was glad she had come, especially since meeting her friend Queenie here!

"This is a glorious specimen, B. Ugger", observed Butterfree. "What a shame that in a month or so all this colour will be gone!"
"You know the best way to get colour in your garden all year, Butterfree?" said B. Ugger. "Buy a garden gnome!"

“Oh hello, Butterfree!” cried Pansy. “Didn’t we bump into each other at Crocodile Creek a while ago?”

As you look to your left, with the waterfall thundering to your right, you see how swiftly the river runs past you as you ensure you have enough stepping stones to get across. One wrong step and you may be staying somewhere further south than you planned!

“This reminds me of Meadowlands,” observed Butterfree, musing as she and Tiana took a moment to admire the produce beside them. “Such a lovely, peaceful scene.”

As you settle in on your second rock in your river crossing, you remember that your host from last night in the autumn realm of green gave you fresh oranges plucked right off of a tree in their own backyard! Time to get refreshed!

@ Fallen Leaves Floating By
“I could stay here forever, Butterfree,” said Choose a name. “This is an amazing place!”
“Well, you never know what lies ahead, Choose a name. I wouldn't be surprised if the next stop is even better!” said Butterfree.

As you make your way to the next rock, you noticed flower blooms and leaves floating by. The leaves may have fallen from trees and were blown into the water, perhaps before the waterfall. You stretch out your paw and snag a twig of orange-colored leaves to stick out of your backpack!

@ Plucked Flowers Floating By Too!
"I wish I knew more about horticulture, Hester" said Butterfree. "Sometimes I can't tell if something's a plant or a weed!"
"Oh, there's a sure-fire way of telling the difference, Butterfree! Pull on it—if it comes out of the ground easily, it's a really valuable plant.”
Plucked Flowers Floating By Too!
After you cross to your next rock, with the shore almost within reach, you decide to add to your collection of souvenirs by grabbing some of the plucked blooms floating by and wrapping them in paper for safe keeping. These were put in the water by young pets in the autumn realm of green, hoping they would float and float for a long distance.

Dorlinger and Butterfree counted out their silver moles and bought some of the harvest food. “That one wins first prize for me!” declared Dorlinger.

As you jump and thump from rock to rock, you check your supply of hazelnuts after noticing you hadn't closed your container as well as you thought! Whew! Most are still there!

“I’m going to have to spend a lot of time when we get back looking up what all these flowers are!” said Butterfree to milo.

"Wasn’t it worth coming all this way, Butterfree," said Grace, "for this experience alone?" Butterfree, admiring the scene they were now in, heartily agreed!

“Isn’t this amazing, Ivory?” declared Butterfree. “I’m seeing so many flowers and shrubs that I’ve never seen before!”

As you pass this patch of growth, you pluck a few sprigs in hopes of decorating up the doorway or the table of the home where you'll lay your head down soon.

“I hope we can buy more of this at our local farmer's market,” observed Butterfree, as she and Lucifer tucked into a delicious food sample!

Butterfree is enjoying the Autumn Experience when Audrey comes along. "Look! A special prize!" says Audrey. Butterfree looks down and sees something valuable. Audrey generously lets Butterfree keep it!
