@ Tunnel of Maple Trees
Mac and Pu[ are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Autumn in Amber
Autumn has well been described by Keats as the "Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness" and pets will here enjoy a ramble through woods with tumbling golden and orange leaves. They can gather hazelnuts, horse chestnuts and fruits, and perhaps forage for mushrooms and dill. Then there are vast fields of wild flowers to explore, and an opportunity to admire the sunset while resting by a rustic barn. Watch your paws or claws crossing the river on the stepping stones—but perhaps splashing in the swirling water is part of the fun!

As you near this autumn realm and hear the thunder of the falls close by, you get to walk through a vividly colorful tunnel of maple leaves with the light of the evening sun at the tunnel's end to attract you further.

Mac and Ucil had shaken paws and took some time to enjoy the super view in a companionable silence!

As you step out of the tunnel of fall-colored leaves, you are greeted with even more beauty to behold as you see flowers silhouetted by the setting sun. Now you know that the day's journey is almost done!

Mac was very happy to meet pinkguick here! They both swapped tales of their experiences of their travels so far!

Mac and bielzibub pooled their silver moles, hoping to buy a small souvenir or two to remind them of this beautiful place!

You pause for a moment to make sure that the pictures you've been taking of your breath-taking journey today have been capturing what your eyes have been seeing. Even though there is so much beauty for just two eyes to take in, you are pleased with your photos thus far, especially of the light at the end of the tunnel of maple trees!

@ Handful of Horse Chestnuts
“Hey, Peridot!” called out Mac. “Come and have some of this—it’s delicious!”
Peridot was glad to relax and enjoy the food Mac shared with her.

Not only were you enveloped with maple trees, but you also saw some chestnut trees mixed within, and so you grabbed a handful of chestnuts as a souvenir!

@ Bouquet of Fall Flowers
“I’m going to have to spend a lot of time when we get back looking up what all these flowers are!” said Mac to lady lovely.

As you left the woods, with another tree line to your left, you noticed some large blooms of wildflowers along the edge of the trees, and so you picked a few to spruce up your room when you settle in later in the evening.

@ Fragile Flowers
"Gordon, just take a look all around you and breathe deeply! Get that good fresh air in your lungs! Does it get any better than this?" asked Mac, who had just met Gordon at this Autumn Experience stop.

As you continue through the field, you choose to leave the daintier purple flowers alone, simply enjoying their fragrance and their beauty in the evening sun.

“These make a fine display, don’t they, Mac?” said b-rok, when he and Mac had shaken paws.

With all of the flowers you are admiring, you almost forgot the ones you picked up in the autumn realm of green that morning. You check to be sure they are still fresh - and they are! - and remember that you have a note to fill out for tonight's host.

@ Wild White Mushrooms
Skye and Mac, after shaking paws, admired the crop of harvest produce in front of them. “I didn’t know it looked like that just after harvest,” said Mac. “I’ve only seen it in the shops!”

Continuing on the path, you notice along the tree line something white. Not sure if you were seeing flowers, you approach and find that they are wild mushrooms, the edible kind, and so you grab a few to add to a possible stew later in the evening!

Mac normally avoided tourist hotspots but he was glad he had come, especially since meeting his friend Minerva here!

"How on earth do you identify what this is from the thousands of things it could be?" asked Audra.
"Well," said Mac, "you go through a checklist. Like what sort of leaves does it have, how are they arranged on the stem, do they have stalks, what's its habitat; that kind of thing. I'll lend you a book when we get home."

As you look to your left, with the waterfall thundering to your right, you see how swiftly the river runs past you as you ensure you have enough stepping stones to get across. One wrong step and you may be staying somewhere further south than you planned!

Inga and Mac counted out their silver moles and bought some of the harvest food. “That one wins first prize for me!” declared Inga.

As you settle in on your second rock in your river crossing, you remember that your host from last night in the autumn realm of green gave you fresh oranges plucked right off of a tree in their own backyard! Time to get refreshed!

@ Fallen Leaves Floating By
“I could stay here forever, Mac,” said POPPER. “This is an amazing place!”
“Well, you never know what lies ahead, POPPER. I wouldn't be surprised if the next stop is even better!” said Mac.

As you make your way to the next rock, you noticed flower blooms and leaves floating by. The leaves may have fallen from trees and were blown into the water, perhaps before the waterfall. You stretch out your paw and snag a twig of orange-colored leaves to stick out of your backpack!

@ Plucked Flowers Floating By Too!
“These make a fine display, don’t they, Mac?” said B. Ugger, when it and Mac had shaken paws.
Plucked Flowers Floating By Too!
After you cross to your next rock, with the shore almost within reach, you decide to add to your collection of souvenirs by grabbing some of the plucked blooms floating by and wrapping them in paper for safe keeping. These were put in the water by young pets in the autumn realm of green, hoping they would float and float for a long distance.

Franny and Mac counted out their silver moles and bought some of the harvest food. “That one wins first prize for me!” declared Franny.

As you jump and thump from rock to rock, you check your supply of hazelnuts after noticing you hadn't closed your container as well as you thought! Whew! Most are still there!

As you land on the last rock, you notice a huge bloom coming your way on the water. It bumps into the rock, making it an easy grab with your paw!

Mac and Mia were so rapt gazing at the scenery they almost forgot to shake paws before moving on to the next stage!

As you step onto the shore, you continue to enjoy the sunset and notice the host home close by! What a welcome sight after a long, but joyful day of hiking into a new realm!

Mac thought the scenery at this new stop was lovely and asked Lucky if it would be possible to set up camp for the night!

Wily shook paws with Mac and was just enjoying the view when she was distracted by loud rustling as Mac unfolded a very lengthy Autumn Experience itinerary, in the course of which he succeeded in knocking Wily’s hat off. “Put that away, do!” snapped Wily. “I’m about to take a photo of this amazing scene—the picture will be of your map if you don’t fold it up pronto!”

On your left is another tree line through which you see some of the last rays of the sun poking through the fall leaves. This makes you feel even more relaxed!

fluffy and Mac shook paws and then they both admired the magnificent floral display beside them.

As you pass this patch of growth, you pluck a few sprigs in hopes of decorating up the doorway or the table of the home where you'll lay your head down soon.

“Great to meet you again, Cherrie!” said Mac. “Come and have some of this farm-grown organic food—it’s absolutely yummy!”

“These are great as a cake flavouring,” said Mac.
“You can add it to savoury dishes as well. It’s very versatile,” observed Norris.

"This is a glorious specimen, Misty", observed Mac. "What a shame that in a month or so all this colour will be gone!"
"You know the best way to get colour in your garden all year, Mac?" said Misty. "Buy a garden gnome!"

Mac is enjoying the Autumn Experience when Chocolicious comes along. "Look! A special prize!" says Chocolicious. Mac looks down and sees something valuable. Chocolicious generously lets Mac keep it!
