@ Scarlet Pathway
Bug and Choose a name are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Autumn in Purple
A country ramble awaits the pets and after exploring woodland paths, a small settlement will be found. At the spice store they will find cinnamon, chillies, star anise and chestnuts, plus purple flowers for perfumery. They will skirt a small lake before seeing a host of pink and purple-hued flowers and plants. Don't forget to grab an apple or two to munch as you head out onto the next stage of our tour!

As we begin our journey we are welcomed by a wonderful scarlet pathway. With the vivid canopy above, the crunchy leaves under our feet, and the sun-kissed trees on the side of the trail, we anticipate what beauty lies ahead.

Episode 2/25

@ Illusion of Nightfall
“I’ve written a postcard to Mrs Eucalyptus about this amazing Autumn Experience!” said Bug. “She’ll wish she were here! Where’s the nearest postbox?”
Blaze shielded his eyes and rotated 360°, elaborately scanning the horizon. “I don’t know how it comes about, but they appear not to have thought to provide a postbox here, Bug. How remiss of them!” Seeing Bug’s ears beginning to droop, Blaze added, “Don’t worry, you can post your card after this leg of the Experience!”
Illusion of Nightfall
Proceeding along the trail something unexpected happens right away. The canopy becomes so dense it gives the illusion of impending nightfall. The light beckons you ahead.

Episode 3/25

@ Undulating Road
"Wasn’t it worth coming all this way, Bug," said Amanda, "for this experience alone?" Bug, admiring the scene they were now in, heartily agreed!

The light leads us to the remnants of a paved gently undulating road shrouded with trees just beginning to lose their leaves. We wonder what pets have journeyed through here in times gone by.

@ Autumn Rice Field
The quiet and serenity of the next scene made Bug and Tester 3 feel like they were the only pets left in PnF Land ...

This journey is definitely full of surprises! One never knows what to expect as they round the bend of life and this rice field is the perfect example. Who knew rice could grow here in the cool autumn temperatures?

@ Sunlight Road
“What an amazing view!” exclaimed Bug after shaking paws with Firefly, who agreed with them. Bug was excited to meet up again with Firefly. They both took a moment to admire the amazing scene around them.

The undulating road has smoothed out and we are bathed in the warm rays of sunshine as they illuminate the path ahead and the glory of the autumn leaves.

@ Wild Blueberries
“Great to meet you again, Sif!” said Bug. “Come and have some of this farm-grown organic food—it’s absolutely yummy!”

Just as your tummy begins to rumble you spot these deeply colored wild blueberries in the brush beside the trail. The color is much deeper than the berries you have seen at the market and your mouth begins to water. Perfect timing and oh-so-refreshing!

@ Fresh Chestnuts
“Hey, Chewbie!” called out Bug. “Come and have some of this—it’s delicious!”
Chewbie was glad to rest and enjoy the food Bug shared with him.

As soon as my eyes catch the sight of these baskets of freshly harvested chestnuts, washed and ready to purchase, a familiar song gets stuck in my head. Is it too early to sing Christmas carols?

@ Vision in Violet
“What’s this flower called?” Bug said to Jodie. “Er—I only know the Latin name for it,” said Jodie and hastily changed the subject.

Pets who love the color purple will be captivated by the intense color of this gorgeous violet flower. The vendor claims it will last for weeks as a cut flower so no reason to leave without buying a bouquet.

@ Cinnamon Sticks and Star Anise
“These are great as a cake flavouring,” said Bug.
“You can add it to savoury dishes as well. It’s very versatile,” observed Lady Thea.

Nothing smells like autumn like the aroma of hot spiced apple cider. Combine cinnamon sticks, star anise, oranges studded with whole cloves, brown sugar, allspice, nutmeg, and apple cider into a pot and steep them all together for a favorite fall drink.

“You know, Cicero said 'If you have a garden and a library you have everything you need',” mused Bentley.
"I don't think I've met Cicero," said Bug. "Is he on this tour?"

Teeka and Bug shook paws with each other and compared notes as to how their respective trips had gone so far, and which was the most delicious harvest item they had each come across.

Ahhh, here it is, our lodging for tonight. We came upon this log cabin just in time as I need to stop and rest awhile. This cozy cabin in the woods looks so warm and inviting. We should get a good night's sleep in this peaceful spot! I do hope they have a porch swing to relax on!

While Bug stood drinking in the amazing view, Emerald searched in her backpack for her camera, eager to capture the scene!

“Isn’t this amazing, Peanuts?” declared Bug. “I’m seeing so many flowers and shrubs that I’ve never seen before!”

No rose is a mysterious as the purple rose and its fragrance is just as fascinating. This single rose is simply stunning when placed in a bouquet with other lavender-hued flowers.

"How on earth do you identify what this is from the thousands of things it could be?" asked Talos.
"Well," said Bug, "you go through a checklist. Like what sort of leaves does it have, how are they arranged on the stem, do they have stalks, what's its habitat; that kind of thing. I'll lend you a book when we get home."

What an extremely rare sight! I bet you didn't know there was a variety of lilacs that blooms in the fall. Well, there is! It's called Josee Reblooming Lilac. Lilacs, not just for spring anymore!

Bug and Chessie shook paws, said “How do you do?” and posed for a souvenir photo. “Why am I always on the left?” grumbled Bug. “Let’s change sides.”
“No,” said Chessie. “This is my best side.”

“My uncle grows these in his back garden,” observed Bug.
“Wow! He must surely have green fingers!” replied Roxas.

"This is a glorious specimen, Hearts", observed Bug. "What a shame that in a month or so all this colour will be gone!"
"You know the best way to get colour in your garden all year, Bug?" said Hearts. "Buy a garden gnome!"

"I think I'll take a cutting of the plant in that tub over there," said Bug. The label says it's 'vigorous' and 'fearless'."
Mr. Dylan sniffed. "That's gardeners' talk for 'an invasive species that will take over your entire garden if permitted'!"

@ Apple Harvest
Inspired by the sunny day, Sir Barkey Barksalot said, “Wouldn't it be fun to work on the harvest?”
Bug took a more pragmatic view. “You’d have to be up before dawn every day and work for 12 hours practically non-stop!”
Sir Barkey Barksalot hastily revised his romantic harvest vision.

@ Pink Poinsettia Flowers
"Screech, was that last one we looked at a thorn bush with roses? Or a rose bush with thorns?" asked Bug.

Pale pink and dark purple leaves make this a quite dramatic poinsettia plant! And no, it's not too early to think about poinsettias because if we want them to look like this they need to be placed into a dark room several months before Christmas so that the leaves change colors.

“Oh hello, Bug!” cried Webbly. “Didn’t we bump into each other at Crocodile Creek a while ago?”

Soft and wispy, like a daydream, these delicate-looking flowers are anything but that. They are actually a sturdy wildflower, blooming all summer long through the end of autumn.

Bug is enjoying the Autumn Experience when Roskaizan comes along. "Look! A special prize!" says Roskaizan. Bug looks down and sees something valuable. Roskaizan generously lets Bug keep it!
