Yan and Vinny the collector are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Fall Fairground North
All the fun of the fair is here to provide your pet with entertainment and thrills, from waterslide to big wheel. And has your pet a strong enough stomach for a death-defying rollercoaster ride? To help restore your pet's equilibrium after all the excitements of the fairground rides, there are stalls selling hot potato snacks, popcorn, toffee apples, candy and delicious cakes and other yummy delights made from the autumn harvest produce! We hope everypet will leave clutching at least one of the fun carnival novelties!

lily and Yan were choosing a drink to go with their food when there was suddenly an almighty SPLASH! from the waterslide and they were hit by flying droplets from the pool!

Fairings is the traditional name for edible souvenirs sold at fairs throughout England. These ginger fairings became associated with Cornish fairs and are still popular in the region.

While Chetet was trying to decide whether to go for a medium or large size, Yan came up to say hello. “I’m going to go for super-size!” said Yan.

"Just listen to that old fairground pipe organ, Soxy!" said Yan. "I love the painted figures, especially the conductor keeping time at the front. You can hear the music all over the fairground!"
"It certainly adds to the atmosphere," said Soxy. "Hey, the ride's about to start! Let's see if we can hear the music from the top!"

“Hi, Yan!” called out Flutter. “Are you going to join me in having a tasty snack before we go on the other rides?” Yan ordered his own portion, and Flutter passed a paper serviette to him.

Nanuk and Yan watched the antics on the waterslide as they stood in the line of pets waiting to board the next ride. "Remember when Foxy leant too far over the bridge in Meadowlands that time, and fell in the pond with a huge splash?" asked Yan. "My stomach muscles ached from laughing for days!"

Yan encountered tails at the fairground. “Have you been on this ride yet, tails?” asked Yan. “It’s quite an experience!”

"I know someone who was fired from their job operating rides at a carnival," Yan told Millie. "Their lawyer advised suing for funfair dismissal!"

The world's oldest roller coasters descended from specially constructed hills of snow in the gardens of palaces around the Russian capital, St Petersburg, in the 18th century. The slides were built to a height of between 70 ft - 80 ft (21-24 m), had a 50 degree drop. These slides became popular with the Russian upper class."Russian mountains" remains the term for roller coasters in many languages, such as Spanish (la montaña rusa), Italian (montagne russe), and French (les montagnes russes). Ironically, the Russian term for roller coaster, "amerikanskie gorki", translates literally as "American mountains."

Yan was listening enraptured to the music emerging from the nearby carousel. “My Mum used to sing this, Faεяydaε!” she exclaimed excitedly. "Music allures, graceful and sweet, bidding us dance, airy and fleet—” she waltzed in a ragged circle and accidentally bumped into the carnival novelties stand. “Ooh! I’ll buy one of those while I'm here, Faεяydaε!” she said.

Bun Bun hesitated as she and Yan approached the next ride. "I don't know, Yan, it makes me feel a bit scared!"
"Would you say it was on a par with coming face-to-face with those wolves suddenly in the Labyrinth?" asked Yan cheerfully. "Look, you don't have to do it if you don't want; you can watch me go round and then decide."

As sunset falls, you enjoy the ever-changing view as you chug a little further upwards and then pause as each pod takes on its precious cargo of pets eager to enjoy the ride. Then when all the pods are full, the wheel starts to turn, building up speed!
