Saksun, Island of Streymoy Streymoy is the largest island in the Faroe Islands and Saksun is a tiny remote village nestled between high mountains overlooking a circular lagoon. The lagoon was once a harbour but a storm filled the harbour with sand and formed the lagoon which fills with seawater from the Northern Atlantic Ocean, twice a day. A truly stunning place.
