Easter and spring are times of joy as the earth awakens, plants are pushing forth from the soil, and the days are becoming warmer. Many baby animals are born in the spring, and life is burgeoning. @ Marine: Sea Horse While Astrid paused to drink in the view, FLAPPY started scrabbling in her rucksack for her portable, foldable camping chair. “What are you doing with that, FLAPPY?” asked Astrid. “We’ll need to get going in a minute or we’ll be left behind!” Marine: Sea Horse If I just hang on lightly, I can catch those little tidbits floating on by. I blend right into the sea grasses, no one will suspect a thing!

Marine: Humboldt Penguins Waddling in the cool waters off the coast of South Africa, dressed up in their best black tie, the little penguins keep a sharp eye out on the waves, you never know when you'll have a surprise visitor!

@ Marine: Humboldt Penguins on the Beach Lilly was distracted by the sounds of loud rustling as Astrid unfolded a very large tourist map, in the course of which she succeeded in knocking Lilly’s sunhat off. “Put that away, do!” said Lilly, in some irritation. “We’re about to pose with this amazing creature—the picture will be of your map if you don’t fold it up pronto!” Marine: Humboldt Penguins on the Beach Who's going in first? @ Marine: Mallard and Duckling “If there's time at the end of the day when we get back to our accommodation, I might do some initial sketches for a charcoal picture of one of our new friends," Buffy The Vampire Slayer said, offering Astrid a toffee from the bag and then unwrapping one for herself. “That sounds like a good plan, Buffy The Vampire Slayer!" said Astrid. "Very relaxing, and your portrait will be a great souvenir of our visit to all these interesting creatures!" Marine: Mallard and Duckling Optical illusions! "He was balancing on a log trying to take a selfie with one of the critters we met, and it rolled over and pitched him into a bank of nettles!" Seattle joined in Astrid's heartless laughter. “He was still brushing bits of nettle out of his fur when we went for lunch!” Marine: Crocodile Barely cracking the glossy surface, my stealth mode is millions of years in the making! Some say I'm still left from the dinosaurs, but we both know that I'm just perfect and never needed to change!

@ Marine: Flamingos Bobbing “Ooh, it's just starting to get a bit cool, Astrid!” said Fresco de la Reye. “Can you hold my map and itinerary while I dig out my scarf?" Astrid good-naturedly took charge of Fresco de la Reye's possessions while he emptied his rucksack of a pack of sandwiches wrapped in greaseproof paper, a Thermos flask, a pair of galoshes, a bag of chocolate peanuts, a paperback thriller, a bottle of orange squash, an address book, some postage stamps, an assortment of different coloured biros, a bottle opener, a couple of old bus tickets, a handful of golden and silver moles, a door key, some very old receipts, a screwdriver, a bottle of multivitamins, a lottery ticket and a selection of rather battered sachets of salt, sugar and salad cream before locating the scarf right at the bottom. This he donned and then Astrid helped him put everything back in his rucksack. Marine: Flamingos Bobbing Delicious shrimps! Just under the surface, tasty little crustaceans, and for their gratitude for nibbling them, they've turned me pink!

Choose a name agreed. “D'you remember that scorpion? It was quite a shock coming across him in the light of the dim and flaring lamps, although he turned out to be very nice in the end.” "It's hard to believe that was two years ago, Choose a name," remarked Astrid. Marine: Baby Leatherback Turtle The longest journey starts with one step! But this journey is not only long, but watch how fast I go! That shadow overhead just was the incentive I needed to kick it into high gear!

@ Marine: Sea Squirts “Whatever were those screaming noises you were making earlier, Grin Grotto?" exclaimed Astrid. Grin Grotto looked embarrassed. "That wasn't screaming. That was me, er, singing, to enable the safari guide to find me when I couldn't find my way out of that cave!" Marine: Sea Squirts Translucent in color, these colorful creatures anchor themselves to the roots and rocks in the warm waters in the Indian River. Just don't startle them, they don't respond well!

Frosted Azure Waterfall The pristine waters fall freely, yet the last frost of the season delicately coats the top of each tier, adding an otherworldly glow as the sun refracts off them.
