Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane are buried in the Mount Moriah Cemetary. Interestingly the person who murdered Bill Hickok was tried twice despite double jeopardy. The town has been designated a National Historic Landmark as it showcases well-preserved Gold Rush-era architecture.
