Sue enjoyed the flight but as the aeroplane neared the runway she had to calm her fears again, but for a different reason. She was arriving in Las Vegas to run a five-day hen party. To work in the USA was the pinnacle of her career as a party planner to date!

Sue took a cab to the hotel where she was later to meet her group of young bachelorpettes. On the journey she fell in love with the scenes and atmosphere of Las Vegas!

Sue was ready in good time to go down to the foyer with her clipboard of information, eager to meet her group. When they arrived, she took her usual care to greet them in a calm, competent yet friendly manner and to put them at their ease.

The first evening in Las Vegas would be spent going for a special meal out together. Sue and the bachelorpettes loved the friendliness displayed by local pets!

There would certainly be no gambling this early in the trip! Sue was adamant that no pet should be given the chance to fritter her spending money away so soon! The cab whisked the group through the Strip to the restaurant.

The Santa Fe spring rolls stuffed with spinach, black beans, coriander, corn, jalapenos, diced red peppers and jack cheese. served with freshly made salsa, guacamole and chipotle ranch dressing were voted a huge success! Next came golden fried potato shells filled with cheddar cheeses and green onions. served with sour cream dip.

After a relatively early night, Sue marshalled her group together for a special road trip down the iconic Route 66 the next morning!

They paused for a break at an olde-time provisions store at a railroad crossing.

They arrived at their destination! They were going on a helicopter trip around Nevada! There were some outbreaks of anxiety in the bachelorpettes but Sue quelled her own fears in soothing her charges' nerves!

Later that afternoon the hen party arrived back in Las Vegas for more hugely enjoyable activities. They were easy to spot in a crowded scene as they were all wearing the special hen party pink T-shirts and deeley boppers!

How romantic! Sue had hired gondolas for a relaxing lake trip, starting from Venice. The pets were serenaded by Italian gondoliers as they drifted along the lake!

They then visited Paris -- the Las Vegas one! Some of the group had been on the PnF Romantic Paris trip just a few months ago and they eagerly discussed which Paris they preferred!

The fun continued into the early hours but eventually Sue brought the party proceedings to a close. It would be another activity-packed day the next day and the bachelorpettes needed to get some sleep!

The bachelorpettes had a lie-in the next morning -- and some of them needed it! But then it was time to visit the Las Vegas Motor Speedway to view some exciting races!

It was back to partying! The group posed for selfies with the iconic flamingos before embarking on the evening's fun!

They all felt a frisson pf excitement when they entered the casino. Some of the young pets were nervous, not knowing how to play. Sue kept a careful eye on the group but they were all very sensible, and kept their stakes low.

They all enjoyed playing roulette, which had very simple rules. "Why do the croupiers speak in French?" queried one bachelorpette, clutching a pawful of casino chips.
"It's because roulette originated in France, so they use that language out of tradition," replied Sue, who had researched the point as part of her preparation.

Sue noticed when the bride-to-be had been absent for a little while. She went to look for her, and found her in tears in the foyer. "Whatever's the matter, petal?" asked Sue. The pet gulped dolefully. "How do I know I can love him forever?" What if I just -- go off him?" Sue led the pet to a nearby sofa, bought her a cold orange juice and talked reassuringly to her until the bride-to-be cheered up.

But Sue couldn't help being reminded of her own former love she had lost. "I am sure I would do much better now," she reflected. "I was too young; that was half the trouble. And to be honest, I adore my job but it would be lovely to come home to that special partner." She gave herself a mental shake. It was time for the Elvis Presley Tribute Show!

Sue and the hen party settled back to enjoy rhinestone-jumpsuit-clad, blue-suede-shoe wearing, sunglass-toting Elvis after Elvis belting out Presley hits. All of a sudden, Sue shot up in her seat. There on stage in front of her was her former love, Blue! He was the best impersonator of the evening!

The busy party planner lost no time hurrying backstage after the show to find her long ago partner, who was equally stunned to see her again after all this time! Duty called for both of them, but they arranged to meet on the last evening at a fruit cocktail/karaoke bar, and after a hoofshake which neither seemed to want to end quickly, they parted.

On their last day, Sue was busy making notes while the hen party had great fun visiting a last few iconic places in Las Vegas. Dare we peek into Sue's diary ...?

@Vroom! Route 66 homewards!

It was time to go home. The bachelorpettes had had a wonderful time, and Sue was very happy with how the last few days had gone. She had enjoyed her last evening in Las Vegas very much and whatever happened, she was looking forward to the future.
