"Relax, Zipper McFly!" said Ronald soothingly. "It's a sugary pastry in the shape of a beaver tail, sprinkled with cinnamon or with jam spread on top! No pets are harmed!"
Great Blue Heron, Stanley Park, Vancouver
Stanley Park is home to one of the largest urban heron rookeries in North America, with 100-200 or more fledglings every year. Surprisingly, great blue herons nest high in the treetops and it is fascinating to watch them as the adult birds fly to and from the nest. It takes about 60 days for the fledglings to fly and 90 days for them to become independent and leave the nest.

Minter Gardens was opened by Brian and Faye Minter in 1980 and spans 32 acres at the foot of Mt. Cheam. It's not as large or well-known as Butchart Gardens in Victoria but it is still a beautifully landscaped must-see destination.

Koo was distracted by the sounds of loud rustling as Zipper McFly unfolded a very large tourist map, in the course of which he succeeded in knocking Koo’s hat off. “Put that away, do!” said Koo, irritated. “We’re about to pose on either side of this amazing scene—the picture will all be of your map if you don’t fold it up pronto!”

Stargazers have nearly unlimited opportunities to view the natural wonders in the night sky over Lost Lake as long as there are no clouds. There are no other obstacles here. The only possible competition to a display this dazzling might be sparks from a crackling campfire.

Seton Lake is a naturally formed freshwater fjord which is located by the First Nations town of Lillooet and is nestled into the outer edge of the Coastal Mountains, often referred to as Canada’s version of the Himalayan Mountains. There is also a scenic passenger train ride that takes you along the shores of Seton Lake and goes from Lillooet to Seton Portage and back again and is said to be one of the most scenic rail trips in the world.

"Canim" means a type of large canoe in the Chinook language, but canoeing is only one of the many activities available here. If you prefer cold-weather sport there is fun aplenty! Snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, dog-sledding and ice fishing are the favorite activities to do here in the winter. There aren't many sunny days left and these painted turtles at Shuswap Lake, British Columbia are taking full advantage of that fact to warm up. Do you think they have seen the local lake monster in the deep waters below? What monster, you ask? You have never heard of the legend of "Shugumu" or "Shuswaggi?" It's a 25-foot-long serpentine creature, so be on the lookout! Shuswap Lake is a lake located in the southern interior of British Columbia, Canada that drains via the Little Shuswap River into Little Shuswap Lake. Little Shuswap Lake is the source of the South Thompson River, a branch of the Thompson River, a tributary of the Fraser River. It is at the heart of a region known as the Columbia Shuswap or "the Shuswap", noted for its recreational lakeshore communities including the city of Salmon Arm. The name "Shuswap" is derived from the Shuswap or Secwepemc First Nations people, the most northern of the Interior Salish peoples, whose territory includes the Shuswap.]

Yoho National Park is in the Rocky Mountains, in eastern British Columbia, Canada. Waterfalls include Wapta Falls, on the Kicking Horse River, and towering Takakkaw Falls. A trail circles turquoise-colored Emerald Lake, with a nearby natural stone bridge. The Lake O’Hara area contains alpine lakes, cliffs, and wooded trails. Viewpoints overlook trains entering the Spiral Tunnels on Kicking Horse Pass.
