@ Canopy of Maple Leaves
George and Flicka are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Autumn in Green
Harvest-time in the countryside—what better time can there be? On this part of the tour, pets will start in a shady wood and have a picnic by an old country barn before continuing. They will discover an open air market of farmers' produce and be able to choose from the displayed apples, grapes, coffee beans, strawberries and chillies before viewing the coffee berries still growing. There are views of cornfields and flowers before finishing with a stroll along the river to admire the autumnal foliage.

As you stroll into this small village and begin to look around, don't forget to look up or you might miss the beautiful fall leaves overhead!

@ Path Leading to a Special Place
Kitty nearly stumbled over George, who was lying full length on the grass. “I was wishing I’d brought my watercolours,” said George. “This just cries out to be painted!”

You know that this autumn realm is going to be a special stop as the path gently leads you by a rustic fence and into a sun-dappled wooded area.

@ Weathered Barn
While George paused to enjoy the view, Pixie started scrabbling in her rucksack for her portable, folding camping chair. “What are you doing with that, Pixie?” asked George. “We’ll need to get going in a minute or we’ll be left behind!”

This autumn village is rich with history as you see the various wooden structures hand-built with time and effort, each board no doubt having a story to tell.

@ Sparkling Dew Drops
“Time to move on and shake the next paw!” observed George. Avalanche agreed, but said she was going to stay here awhile and collect pine cones.

This autumn realm lays at the bottom of several hillsides, causing its grasses to still have dew on them even at noon, as you (and your shoes) soon discovered upon your arrival.

@ Prairie Grass Before the Woods
George opened his rucksack to change his hat. Coconut could see George had a baseball cap, a sombrero, a beret, a straw boater, a cricket cap, a sou'wester, a large, floppy sunhat and a pith helmet!
“Did you bring a mortarboard too?” Coconut asked George.
Prairie Grass Before the Woods
As you enter the village, you recall the beautiful prairie grass that preceded the woods, as each blade of grass, gently swaying back and forth with the breeze, began to melt the stress off your shoulders.

@ Flourishing Florist
"I think I'll take a cutting of the plant in that tub over there," said George. The label says it's 'vigorous' and 'fearless'."
Ginny sniffed. "That's gardeners' talk for 'an invasive species that will take over your entire garden if permitted'!"

At the end of the fence and treeline leading into the village, you encounter the local florist and the special roses being cultivated. This is perfect as it allows you to purchase a rose to take to your host for the evening!

@ Bouquet of Roses
"This is a glorious specimen, BERT", observed George. "What a shame that in a month or so all this colour will be gone!"
"You know the best way to get colour in your garden all year, George?" said BERT. "Buy a garden gnome!"

In fact, these roses are so special that you decide to take an arrangement with you to your host's home!

@ Strawberry Patch
Nermal Stingray and George shook paws with each other and compared notes as to how their respective trips had gone so far, and which was the most delicious harvest item they had each come across.

As you continue into the village you see behind some of the market stalls and produce wagons a strawberry patch with just ripened and delicious strawberries ready for the picking!

“Hey, Fancy Face !” called out George. “Come and have some of this—it’s delicious!”
Fancy Face was glad to rest and enjoy the food George shared with her.

One produce cart that you didn't expect to see was an overflowing cart of a variety of chili peppers, something that the locals love to munch on as an afternoon snack, as well as use in their favorite recipes.

“These are great as a cake flavouring,” said George.
“You can add it to savoury dishes as well. It’s very versatile,” observed Lucky.

Finley was glad to rest and enjoy the food George shared with him.

One of the vendors has combined his freshly picked grapes with the special roses from the florist to create unique arrangements for the townsfolk's special days.

“My uncle grows these in his back garden,” observed George.
“Wow! He must surely have green fingers!” replied Lady.

One market stall sells unique flowers, such as the Chinese lantern, the orange leaves of which form a protective cover for the plant's simple white flowers and poisonous fruit (when unripened - but not very tasty even when ripe!), which makes the orange leaves the real attention-grabber!

Puff greeted George cheerily, recommending he expended some silver moles on the fresh harvest food before them.

“This reminds me of Meadowlands,” observed George, musing as he and Boci took a moment to admire the produce beside them. “Such a lovely, peaceful scene.”

Speaking of mornings, you'll find a market stall in this village that carries a neat combination of both red and green coffee berries, another favorite morning snack with the local pets, or travelers passing through, like you!

While the red and green coffee berries sound very appealing, you may just want a regular cup of coffee, made with the finest of beans. The beans are freshly ground for your specific order, so you know that it's going to be fresh and good!

"I wish I knew more about horticulture, Blue Fire" said George. "Sometimes I can't tell if something's a plant or a weed!"
"Oh, there's a sure-fire way of telling the difference, George! Pull on it—if it comes out of the ground easily, it's a really valuable plant.”

Upon arriving at your night's lodgings, you present the arrangement of roses to your hosts, thanking them for their hospitality. A tradition in this autumn realm is to present any lodgers with a rose as well - so you find it very enjoyable to have the flower's wonderful fragrance to be in your room too!

@ Double Rainbow Dream
George and Grace, having shaken paws, got so engrossed in conversation about the beautiful scenery that they had to hurry along so as not to be left behind! They regretfully bade au revoir and auf Wiedersehen to each other!

As you lay your head down for a good night's rest, you find yourself dreaming of the double rainbow you saw as you approached the outlying prairie. It made you feel like you were in for a double blessing once you came into the village.

“These make a fine display, don’t they, George?” said Murgatroyd the Malevolent, when it and George had shaken paws.

The next morning after breakfast, you begin to head out for the next autumn realm and are blessed with seeing soft, small yellow flowers opening to the sun's rays while a very faint mist begins to lift.

As you begin to make your way out of the village and back towards the woods, you take the time to stop by the village pond with its quiet waters and reflections of the morning's sunrise. You even take a moment to skip a stone or two!

A little further along the shore and you are blessed with the fall colors that greeted you the day before, only this time it is a blessing that's doubled as these colorful trees are mirrored upon the still waters of the village pond.

George and BoBo shook paws, said “How do you do?” and posed for a souvenir photo. “Why am I always on the left?” grumbled George. “Let’s change sides.”
“No,” said BoBo. “This is my best side.”

As the sun continues to rise, it lends its light upon the many trees that make up the wooded border of this autumn realm. You are glad for the day you had in the quiet village, but are excited for the new possibilities that lay beyond the woods!

@ Prairie Grass Awaits
“I could stay here forever, George,” said Kitty Boo. “This is an amazing place!”
“Well, you never know what lies ahead, Kitty Boo. I wouldn't be surprised if the next stop is even better!” said George.

“You know, Cicero said 'If you have a garden and a library you have everything you need',” mused Amelia.
"I don't think I've met Cicero," said George. "Is he on this tour?"

As you reach the end of the prairie grass, you again experience the sparkling dew of the morning mist as it lingers on some of the realms' outer flowers. It has been a good journey!!

George is enjoying the Autumn Experience when Tommy comes along. "Look! A special prize!" says Tommy. George looks down and sees something valuable. Tommy generously lets George keep it!
