Episode 1/25

@ Tunnel of Maple Trees
Paisley and Dumbledore are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Autumn in Amber
Autumn has well been described by Keats as the "Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness" and pets will here enjoy a ramble through woods with tumbling golden and orange leaves. They can gather hazelnuts, horse chestnuts and fruits, and perhaps forage for mushrooms and dill. Then there are vast fields of wild flowers to explore, and an opportunity to admire the sunset while resting by a rustic barn. Watch your paws or claws crossing the river on the stepping stones—but perhaps splashing in the swirling water is part of the fun!

As you near this autumn realm and hear the thunder of the falls close by, you get to walk through a vividly colorful tunnel of maple leaves with the light of the evening sun at the tunnel's end to attract you further.

"No, Sparkles, what does it need?"
"Nothing, Paisley. This scene is flawless!"

As you step out of the tunnel of fall-colored leaves, you are greeted with even more beauty to behold as you see flowers silhouetted by the setting sun. Now you know that the day's journey is almost done!

@ Sunset Across the Field
"Lucky, just take a look all around you and breathe deeply! Get that good fresh air in your lungs! Does it get any better than this?" asked Paisley, who had just met Lucky at this Autumn Experience stop.

As you look further past where you are now standing, you see a vast farm field to cross with welcoming trees and hillsides awaiting.

@ Picture of the Tunnel of Trees
On her way round The Autumn Experience, Paws bumped into Paisley. They both paused to drink in the beautiful scene before them before going on to the next location.

You pause for a moment to make sure that the pictures you've been taking of your breath-taking journey today have been capturing what your eyes have been seeing. Even though there is so much beauty for just two eyes to take in, you are pleased with your photos thus far, especially of the light at the end of the tunnel of maple trees!

@ Handful of Horse Chestnuts
“Hey, Hershel!” called out Paisley. “Come and have some of this—it’s delicious!”
Hershel was glad to rest and enjoy the food Paisley shared with him.

Not only were you enveloped with maple trees, but you also saw some chestnut trees mixed within, and so you grabbed a handful of chestnuts as a souvenir!

@ Bouquet of Fall Flowers
"How on earth do you identify what this is from the thousands of things it could be?" asked Frisky.
"Well," said Paisley, "you go through a checklist. Like what sort of leaves does it have, how are they arranged on the stem, do they have stalks, what's its habitat; that kind of thing. I'll lend you a book when we get home."

As you left the woods, with another tree line to your left, you noticed some large blooms of wildflowers along the edge of the trees, and so you picked a few to spruce up your room when you settle in later in the evening.

“Oh hello, Paisley!” cried Paxton. “Didn’t we bump into each other at Crocodile Creek a while ago?”

As you continue through the field, you choose to leave the daintier purple flowers alone, simply enjoying their fragrance and their beauty in the evening sun.

@ White Rose and Pink Daisy
Peridot bent down to sniff the flower in front of her but recoiled hastily. “What’s up, Peridot?” asked Paisley.
“There’s a huge bumblebee on it!” said Peridot.

With all of the flowers you are admiring, you almost forgot the ones you picked up in the autumn realm of green that morning. You check to be sure they are still fresh - and they are! - and remember that you have a note to fill out for tonight's host.

@ Wild White Mushrooms
“Great to meet you again, Silk!” said Paisley. “Come and have some of this farm-grown organic food—it’s absolutely yummy!”

Continuing on the path, you notice along the tree line something white. Not sure if you were seeing flowers, you approach and find that they are wild mushrooms, the edible kind, and so you grab a few to add to a possible stew later in the evening!

Paisley and Chessie shook paws, said “How do you do?” and posed for a souvenir photo. “Why am I always on the left?” grumbled Paisley. “Let’s change sides.”
“No,” said Chessie. “This is my best side.”

It is so enjoyable to not only see the variety of fall colors beside you, over you and underneath you - but to also hear the sound of the leaves as they crackle under your paws!

Snickerdoodle and Paisley shook paws and then they both admired the magnificent floral display beside them.

@ Running River After the Waterfall
Paisley and Starlight were so rapt gazing at the scenery they almost forgot to shake paws before moving on to the next stage!

As you look to your left, with the waterfall thundering to your right, you see how swiftly the river runs past you as you ensure you have enough stepping stones to get across. One wrong step and you may be staying somewhere further south than you planned!

“This reminds me of Meadowlands,” observed Paisley, musing as she and Fyzbana took a moment to admire the produce beside them. “Such a lovely, peaceful scene.”

As you settle in on your second rock in your river crossing, you remember that your host from last night in the autumn realm of green gave you fresh oranges plucked right off of a tree in their own backyard! Time to get refreshed!

@ Fallen Leaves Floating By
Rex was hailed by Paisley, who had also just arrived on the scene. “What a great view, Rex!” said Paisley. “I could stay here for hours!”

As you make your way to the next rock, you noticed flower blooms and leaves floating by. The leaves may have fallen from trees and were blown into the water, perhaps before the waterfall. You stretch out your paw and snag a twig of orange-colored leaves to stick out of your backpack!

"I think I'll take a cutting of the plant in that tub over there," said Paisley. The label says it's 'vigorous' and 'fearless'."
ypmblessed sniffed. "That's gardeners' talk for 'an invasive species that will take over your entire garden if permitted'!"

After you cross to your next rock, with the shore almost within reach, you decide to add to your collection of souvenirs by grabbing some of the plucked blooms floating by and wrapping them in paper for safe keeping. These were put in the water by young pets in the autumn realm of green, hoping they would float and float for a long distance.

@ Plenty of Nuts
“This reminds me of Meadowlands,” observed Paisley, musing as she and Sadie took a moment to admire the produce beside them. “Such a lovely, peaceful scene.”

As you jump and thump from rock to rock, you check your supply of hazelnuts after noticing you hadn't closed your container as well as you thought! Whew! Most are still there!

@ Red and Yellow Flower
“I’m going to ask if I can take a cutting of this,” Bones said to Paisley. “This would look just fine in a half barrel in my front garden!”

As you land on the last rock, you notice a huge bloom coming your way on the water. It bumps into the rock, making it an easy grab with your paw!

The quiet and serenity of the next scene made Paisley and Starlight feel like they were the only pets left in PnF Land ...

As you step onto the shore, you continue to enjoy the sunset and notice the host home close by! What a welcome sight after a long, but joyful day of hiking into a new realm!

@ Meadow of Yellow Flowers
Paisley gazed at the scene around her in awe, while Amethyst grumbled a little about Paisley's so-called shortcut, if her blisters were anything to go by!

With the waterfall and river now roaring on your right, the gentleness of the sunset upon a meadow of yellow flowers, which appear to be even more yellow from the sun's rays, calm your soul as you near your goal!

@ Fading Sun Rays
Arriving at such a wonderful location spurred Paisley on to get to the next stop on the Autumn Experience. However, Fidelis sat down, insisting on a rest and complaining of blisters!

On your left is another tree line through which you see some of the last rays of the sun poking through the fall leaves. This makes you feel even more relaxed!

@ Green Leafed Plant
"I wish I knew more about horticulture, Chipilona" said Paisley. "Sometimes I can't tell if something's a plant or a weed!"
"Oh, there's a sure-fire way of telling the difference, Paisley! Pull on it—if it comes out of the ground easily, it's a really valuable plant.”

As you pass this patch of growth, you pluck a few sprigs in hopes of decorating up the doorway or the table of the home where you'll lay your head down soon.

PI PI greeted Paisley cheerily, recommending she expended some silver moles on the fresh harvest food before them.

Goliath and Paisley shook paws with each other and compared notes as to how their respective trips had gone so far, and which was the most delicious harvest item they had each come across.

Paisley is enjoying the Autumn Experience when Guaca comes along. "Look! A special prize!" says Guaca. Paisley looks down and sees something valuable. Guaca generously lets Paisley keep it!
