@ Sled Dog in Training
Foxy and Sugar Candy have been given a free map to help them enjoy their Winter Tour! Before unfolding it, they read the cover:
Winter Wildlife
A cute little fellow greets the pets this morning to herald the arrival of the morning's transport. The pets will pass wintry landscapes and greet all kinds of wildlife. They have the opportunity to explore bridges, a forest, a river and a snowbound wooden cabin before heading home in the sunset to that night's lodging. While passing the lumber store, they meet two more appealing little creatures keeping out of the cold. The pets then go inside for welcome bowls of soup and wind up their day by creating hot drinks with special chosen garnishes.
Sled Dog in Training
This pup may be young but he will learn much just by running alongside the team and hearing the musher call out the directions. Some day he may even be the lead dog.

@ Straight Ahead, Team!
“I'm already looking forward to tonight's hot drink by the fire, Foxy,” said Puff.
"Hey, a snowshoe expedition will warm you up!" replied Foxy.

Straight Ahead, Team!
Eagerly jumping in their harnesses, the sled dog team lunges forward at the sound of the driver's command to "Hike!" The sled glides along the snowy path effortlessly thanks to the well-trained team. What seems like work to us is actually a great source of joy for a sled dog. Every time a musher decides to go out, every dog in the kennel is excitedly barking and jumping, hoping they get chosen to be on the team.

@ Snowy Bench
“A picture of this would look lovely printed on Christmas cards, wouldn't it, Foxy?” Pinky said.
“It certainly would, Pinky!" said Foxy.

Hikers welcome a sight such as this during a long, snowy trek. Chances to sit for a bit to rest are far and few between on the trails. Benches in places like this are usually erected in memory of a loved one who enjoyed the outdoors or as an eagle scout project.

@ Fox on the Prowl
“I was pretending to be an Arctic explorer in the husky sled on the way here, Foxy,” revealed MELODEE.
"Is that why you kept yelling: 'Mush! Mush!' at them?" asked Foxy. "Hey, what would happen if you shouted the wrong command and they suddenly did a U-turn?"
"I reckon we'd all be flung out headfirst into the nearest snowdrift," grinned MELODEE.

Fox on the Prowl
Foxes have a keen sense of hearing and can hear its prey scurrying underground even under the cover of snow. It is poised to pounce quickly and seize the opportunity for a tasty hard-to-find winter snack.

@ Through the Frozen Wetlands
“Hey, have you seen what the next stop is, Foxy?” said Choose a name. "It looks fantastic!"
"I'll get my camera ready," said Foxy.
Through the Frozen Wetlands
The carefully constructed boardwalk allows hikers to safely traverse the wetlands while protecting its inhabitants. While they are hibernating at the moment, at the first sign of spring, the environs come alive with the chorus of spring peepers and other critters who call this land home.

@ Squirrel in the Snow
"It's turned a bit cold, Foxy, I'm going to put my beanie hat on," said Rick.
"Good scheme! I'll dig my mittens out as well," said Foxy.

I know I hid that corn cob somewhere around here but a recent snowfall has covered it up. Now I will have to check every lumpy spot in the snow to find it. Boy, will I be glad when I do! I'm hungry!

"It's turned a bit cold, Foxy, I'm going to put my beanie hat on," said DILLIGAS.
"Good scheme! I'll dig my mittens out as well," said Foxy.

The freshly plowed path beckons you to the cozy cabin tucked into the dense evergreen forest. Oh, I can already feel the warmth of the wood-burning stove and can't wait to kick off my boots and relax under a warm quilt with a cup of hot cocoa.

"Do you think we'll see penguins like we did on Snow Beach that time, Tammie?" asked Foxy.
"Oh gosh, Foxy, do you remember those sharks, and the octopus as well? Poor Fresco took one look and hid in the bottom of the boat!" responded Tammie.

"Do you think we'll see penguins like we did on Snow Beach that time, Badger?" asked Foxy.
"Oh gosh, Foxy, do you remember those sharks, and the octopus as well? Poor Fresco took one look and hid in the bottom of the boat!" responded Badger.

The snow-covered fence marks the border of this sparse remote land. With one lone tree off in the distance and no hoof or paw prints in the freshly fallen snow, there doesn't appear to be much activity here. Perfect, just the way I like it!

@ European Crested Tit
rainbow cookie was distracted by the sounds of loud rustling as Foxy unfolded a very large tourist map, in the course of which he succeeded in knocking rainbow cookie’s hat off. “Put that away, do!” urged rainbow cookie. “We’re about to pose beside this amazing scene—the picture will be entirely of your map if you don’t fold it up PDQ!”
European Crested Tit
A common songbird found throughout the deciduous and coniferous forests in Central and Northern Europe, the crested tit does not migrate. It is very vocal with its nearly constant song of zee, zee, zee.

@ Misty Evergreen Forest
Foxy opened his rucksack to find his hat. Symphony could see Foxy had a beret, a balaclava, a cricket cap, a Tam o' Shanter, a woolly bobble hat, a beanie, a deerstalker hat and a Peruvian chullo!
“Did you bring a Stetson too?” Symphony asked Foxy.
Misty Evergreen Forest
An unusually warm day has caused snow to melt on the hillside at the edge of the dense forest. A layer of mist hovers within the stately evergreens, shrouding any residents from our view.

@ Snowy Owl Solo

A single snowy owl sits motionless on the ground. Under normal winter conditions, it would be well-camouflaged but the absence of snow allows us to catch a rare glimpse of its beautiful pristine feathers.

"How many needles grow on a pine tree, Lilac?" said Foxy.
"Goodness, I don't know, Foxy. How many?"
"All of them!"

@ Snowy Owl Duet
“If there's time at the end when we get back to our accommodation, I might do some initial sketches for a watercolour painting," Balthazar said, offering Foxy a toffee from the bag and then unwrapping one for himself.
“That sounds like a good plan, Balthazar!" said Foxy. "And very in keeping with the hygge theme!"

Snowy Owl Duet
Look whoooo stopped by. The solo snowy owl's mate. Looks like we get a double treat of beautiful white feathers as this species of owl is commonly spotted in the daytime, unlike its brown cousins.

@ Making Tracks
"Do you think we'll see penguins like we did on Snow Beach that time, Fala?" asked Foxy.
"Oh gosh, Foxy, do you remember those sharks, and the octopus as well? Poor Fresco took one look and hid in the bottom of the boat!" responded Fala.

Making Tracks
A lone skier and an unidentified hooman make tracks in the freshly-fallen snow. The nearby building provides a shelter for any adventuresome passersby that need it.

@ Sunset Masterpiece
“Ooh, it's just starting to get a bit cold, Foxy!” said Wawatay. “Can you hold my gloves and map while I dig out my scarf?"
Foxy good-naturedly took charge of Wawatay's possessions while he emptied his rucksack of a pack of sandwiches, a Thermos flask, a pair of galoshes, a bag of toffees, a paperback novel, a bottle of mineral water, an address book, some postage stamps, an assortment of different coloured biros, a bottle opener, a couple of old train tickets, a handful of golden and silver moles, a door key, some shopping receipts, a screwdriver, a bottle of multivitamins, a lottery ticket and a selection of rather battered sachets of salt, sugar and tomato ketchup before locating the scarf right at the bottom. This he donned and then Foxy helped him put everything back in his rucksack.

"This is fabulous, Redington" enthused Foxy. "I'll have this photo printed and framed and display it next to my plush seal that I got in the little gift shop near Snow Beach and the model of St Basil's Cathedral from Icon!"
"You'll have a fine collection of mementos, Foxy!" said Redington.

They say when you cut wood that it warms you twice. Some pet has already experienced the first warmth. Now the wood is stacked and ready to be used to warm a second time.

Butterflies are a universal symbol of transformation and change, as no creature undergoes such an amazing metamorphosis as the caterpillar to butterfly. On a spiritual level the butterfly is associated with the soul and rebirth. These delicate frosty butterflies with their wings rimmed in violet are a true delight.

Anything you could possibly want for your hot cocoa is in this handy tray. I'm just going to pile mine high with marshmallows and a piece of dark chocolate candy.
