@ Rustic Reindeer Range
Fresco de la Rey and Graham had shaken paws and were now introducing themselves to the next critter who had come to meet them on this leg of the quest, who was eager to make friends and to show off a carefully tidied natural habitat!

Fresco de la Rey and Ivory were entranced at reaching this stopping place and eagerly posed for a picture standing on either side of the attractive creature they had just met!

Snowy white with a splash of orange for a beak and legs these geese can truly sneak up on you on a winter day. At least they do not have quite the same reputation as their Canadian counterparts *wink wink*

“Let’s pose with one of us each side of our new friend and I’ll set the self-timer to take a group shot,” said Fresco de la Rey to Isabella. “It’ll be a fab souvenir of our time here!”

One of the friendliest birds of the Canadian winter. Many children have memories of standing outside with arms extended and feed in hand awaiting a bird to land and feed.

The kings of the north reside here. While they appear large and overbearing they truly can be friendly and will invite you in for halibut.

“You never know what sort of critter to expect next, do you, wiggles?" whispered Fresco de la Rey. “You know, small, cute and furry or really quite, um, large, with—er—very sharp teeth.” wiggles reassured Fresco de la Rey that all the critters were looking forward to meeting them, regardless of size, furriness, cuteness and/or type of teeth.

In the peaceful morning you can barely see their outline in the mists coming over the lake. Listen carefully and you can hear their calls to one another as they gracefully glide across the water.

@ Puffin Hills
Fresco de la Rey and Maxwell agreed that the variety of environments on their expedition was the best ever! Fresco de la Rey and Maxwell exchanged opinions on which their favourite terrain had been so far, and which was the most interesting creature they had met in their travels!

The penguins of the northern hemisphere! Ok, not quite but adorable nonetheless. These critters can even be found roaming through town when they are not on the hillsides.

@ Sunset at Sea
Fresco de la Rey and Spot got so engrossed in the conversation they were having with their fascinating new friend that they had to hurry along so as not to be left behind! They regretfully bade farewell to their new chum and promised to visit again!

This lil fella appears grumpy as he is often mistaken for a seal. He really would like to wear a sign saying I am not a seal but has thus far resisted. So please be kind when entering the beach here and do not upset the natives. They are quite friendly.

Fresco de la Rey opened his rucksack to change his hat. Rosie could see Fresco de la Rey had a large, floppy sunhat, a balaclava, a rain hat, a woolly bobble hat, a beanie, a deerstalker hat and a swimming cap! “Did you bring a fez too?” Rosie asked Fresco de la Rey.

Hold onto your rocks! These penguins are notorious rock thieves. They sneak up on one another’s nests and steal pebbles to better their own nest. It appears these two penguins may be conspiring together. So hold onto your goods.

It is ok. You can breathe. We just recommend staying in the middle of our shark cage here while we are at depth. Going close to the edge near the bars may be a little risky and ill advised. But isn’t that shark ever so graceful swimming around and stalking us?

Swimming and lazing around in the tropical waters one may be lucky to catch sight of these beauties floating by. Amidst the corals their colours almost glow as if illuminated by black light. Certainly a rare treat for anyone to see.

Snap on your scuba gear and go for a swim among these gentle giants. They are more likely that other whales to breech so do take care when in the water. If you aren’t so brave perhaps a Zodiac tour is more your speed.

Fresco de la Rey has had a wonderful day, and has met lots of animals for the very first time, but now it is time for Fresco de la Rey to go back to your page and relax.

Your pet will need to wrap up warmly and perhaps don snowshoes for this part of the quest! The journey starts in beautiful snowy scenes where some quite rare animals and birds are waiting to welcome your pet to their wintry world. The quest continues to cliffs, then rocky and sandy seashores and culminates in your pet sailing on the sea to view the watery world and its inhabitants! The octopus has promised to put in an appearance, and the shark has been practising his fiercest, most glary expression, but that’s to conceal his heart of gold and cuddly disposition! Bon voyage!
