Alastair and Dani are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Fall Fairground North
All the fun of the fair is here to provide your pet with entertainment and thrills, from waterslide to big wheel. And has your pet a strong enough stomach for a death-defying rollercoaster ride? To help restore your pet's equilibrium after all the excitements of the fairground rides, there are stalls selling hot potato snacks, popcorn, toffee apples, candy and delicious cakes and other yummy delights made from the autumn harvest produce! We hope everypet will leave clutching at least one of the fun carnival novelties!

Fairings is the traditional name for edible souvenirs sold at fairs throughout England. These ginger fairings became associated with Cornish fairs and are still popular in the region.

“Hi, Alastair!” called out Marcus. “Are you going to join me in having a tasty snack before we go on the other rides?” Alastair ordered his own portion, and Marcus passed a paper serviette to him.

Mae got carefully down from the ride, stumbling slightly and holding tightly onto the sides. "I say, you do look a bit green, Mae, old thing!" said Alastair. "I'm reminded of when you got seasick on our Crocodile Creek trip!"
"I was not seasick," said Mae with dignity. "I had merely eaten something that disagreed with me."

"You get a marvellous view from the top of this ride, don't you, Alastair?" said Bolly idly. "Look, isn't that the windmill in the purple rea- —AARGGHH! AAARRGGGHHHH! OH-H-H-H! MAAAAAKE I-I-I-T STO-O-O-O-O-O-OP! AAARRGGGHHHH! STOP L-L-LAUGHING, YOU H-H-HORRIBLE CREATURE!"

Big wheel installations became an icon of World's Fairs and Exhibitions and an example at Earl's Court in London erected in 1894 expressed fine engineering combined with opulence. Meanwhile, across the Pond, George Ferris led the way in big wheel design.

Sweetie pie and Alastair watched the antics on the waterslide as they stood in the line of pets waiting to board the next ride. "Remember when Foxy leant too far over the bridge in Meadowlands that time, and fell in the pond with a huge splash?" asked Alastair. "My stomach muscles ached from laughing for days!"

The world's oldest roller coasters descended from specially constructed hills of snow in the gardens of palaces around the Russian capital, St Petersburg, in the 18th century. The slides were built to a height of between 70 ft - 80 ft (21-24 m), had a 50 degree drop. These slides became popular with the Russian upper class."Russian mountains" remains the term for roller coasters in many languages, such as Spanish (la montaña rusa), Italian (montagne russe), and French (les montagnes russes). Ironically, the Russian term for roller coaster, "amerikanskie gorki", translates literally as "American mountains."

As sunset falls, you enjoy the ever-changing view as you chug a little further upwards and then pause as each pod takes on its precious cargo of pets eager to enjoy the ride. Then when all the pods are full, the wheel starts to turn, building up speed!
