Feeling a draft of cool air, Buffy The Vampire Slayer sits up and rubs her eyes, trying to work out where she is? Buffy The Vampire Slayer also wonders who the 3 spectres are, and what their business with her could possibly be?

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 2/25

The spectres introduce Buffy The Vampire Slayer to their dragon friend, Zilant, who has very sensitive hearing. Zilant is disturbed by a strange wailing sound drifting on the wind, and is looking for assistance to discover where the sound is coming from. Buffy The Vampire Slayer and the spectres are only too happy to assist Zilant, even though none of them has particularly good eye sight...

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 3/25

Happy to be of further service, the spectres turn their robes inside out and then recruit Äbädä the Owl to be the team's "eyes in the sky." Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Zilant raise their eyebrows at such strange behaviour, but shrug it off when the team finally sets off in pursuit of the wailing sound.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 4/25

As the team nears the river, the wailing sound becomes clearer, as if it is being conducted by the water. While Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Äbädä take a closer look, Zilant begins collecting up little crystals, wondering why there are so many of them?

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 5/25

As the team nears Äbädä's cottage in the forest, the number of crystals increases significantly, and the spectres realise that the sound is also bouncing off the crystals, which is distorting where it is coming from.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 6/25

After a quick consultation, Buffy The Vampire Slayer and the team members realise that they are going to need to collect as many crystals as they possibly can along the way, if they are to have any hope of working out which direction the wailing is coming from.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 7/25

Zilant is almost certain the wailing is travelling downstream along the river, but who is he to argue with the spectres, especially about collecting crystals, which just so happens to be one of his most favourite past times ever?

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 8/25

When the team meets a quokka, who has been visiting her otter cousins upstream, Äbädä takes a rest on the quokka's raft, because he's not used to flying long distances in daylight, and he thinks he might be becoming boggle-eyed with the exertion!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 9/25

The wailing rips through a nearby ghost town like a hurricane, uprooting trees and driving most of the residents underground, which is really rather apt when you think about it!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 10/25

The cacophony increases in volume as Buffy The Vampire Slayer and the team pursue the wailing along Ghostenhagen Ravine! "Good grief," grumbles Buffy The Vampire Slayer, "There's enough noise bouncing off those ravine walls to wake the dead!" Which is precisely what has occurred!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 11/25

The wailing flows along the river into the haunted forest, where the sound bounces from tree to tree, tangling in the branches and waking all of the little bats. While Zilant stops to admire his reflection in the water, Buffy The Vampire Slayer lumbers onwards, determine to solve the mystery of the source of this incessant wailing!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 12/25

Buffy The Vampire Slayer and the team stop to ask the Aye-Ayes whether they have any idea who is making the wailing noise? The Aye-Ayes have no idea, but it has been driving them batty for days, so they really hope Buffy The Vampire Slayer and the team can solve and silence this particular mystery!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 13/25

Obviously Zilant isn't the only dragon in the forest who is being disturbed by the mournful wailing floating through the air! When the team encounters Erbüke near his castle, he flies on down to find out whether or not the spectres are responsible for the haunting noise!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 14/25

Buffy The Vampire Slayer and the team are distressed to find the faerie spirit Irshi shedding tears of empathy, in response to the haunting wail, which is disturbing all of fae kind in PnF Land!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 15/25

Buffy The Vampire Slayer and the team call a greeting to Herbert, only to discover that Herbert has abandoned his favourite hobby, fishing, because the haunting wail has frightened all of the gingerbread fish out of the river! This really won't do at all!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 16/25

As Buffy The Vampire Slayer and the team greet Esmeralda, they learn that none of the cows on Esmeralda's farm have any milk left for their poddy calves, because it has all dried up in fright, thanks to the dreadful wailing flowing down the river!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 17/25

Any hopes the team has for the wailing to cease are quickly shattered as the team begins to approach the mouth of the river, where the volume of the wailing is even stronger, as it bounces off the rocks!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 18/25

As the river broadens and deepens, the spectres fly down for a closer look under the surface, where a pile of skulls marks an ancient pet burial ground. Buffy The Vampire Slayer fears the wailing might be coming from the skulls themselves, but the spectres quickly reassure her that it is coming from further along...

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 19/25

Buffy The Vampire Slayer and the team are disturbed to discover that most of the residents have also abandoned Halloween Town, simply to escape the noise. Buffy The Vampire Slayer fervently hopes that the Halloween Town householders will all return before All Hallows Eve, so trick 'n' treating isn't spoilt for her this year!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 20/25

Buffy The Vampire Slayer and the team enter the mouth of the river, where the spectres stop to converse with a group of frog princes. Although the spectres won't tell Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Äbädä or Zilant what information the frog princes have shared, Buffy The Vampire Slayer does sense the spectres are quietly optimistic, which is pretty amazing in this place where nothing else is even remotely quiet!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 21/25

The spectres look on with innocent expressions when Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Äbädä and Zilant discover a giant crystal! At this point, the reason for recruiting such a large team for the Quest becomes apparent, when the spectres tell Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Äbädä and Zilant that they will need to drag the giant crystal along with them to solve the mystery of the wailing!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 22/25

The river comes to an abrupt end at a cliff top, and forms into a beautiful pool, where Zilant takes the opportunity to have his weekly bath, before plummeting over the cliff to pursue the source of that haunting wail below. Rejecting the notion of bathing, Buffy The Vampire Slayer takes the opportunity to polish all of their crystals instead, while Äbädä and the spectres patiently watch on!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 23/25

Buffy The Vampire Slayer and the team flow downriver with the falling water, which cascades into a rock pool below. In fact, Zilant enjoyed sliding down the waterfall so much, he repeated the manoeuvre several times, while Buffy The Vampire Slayer silently pondered how she could go about taking this beautiful waterfall home with her?

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 24/25

Buffy The Vampire Slayer almost has a heart attack when the cacophony increases in volume, and Susulu the Mermaid pops up out of the water directly in front of her! Quick as a flash, Zilant moves a safe (and quieter) distance away from Susulu. But sticking her fingers in her ears, the intrepid Buffy The Vampire Slayer asks Susulu to explain why she is making so much noise?

With a hiccup, Susulu abruptly stops wailing, and explains that she has lost the large crystal her father, the Sea King, gave her for her birthday, and she is afraid that her father will be disappointed in her.

So without any further ado, Buffy The Vampire Slayer produces the large crystal the team found upstream, and presents it to Susulu!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is questing! Episode 25/25

Susulu is so grateful to get her birthday present back she offers Buffy The Vampire Slayer a reward of 20GM, which Buffy The Vampire Slayer gladly accepts, as everything is so expensive in PnF Land these days!

So Buffy The Vampire Slayer pockets her GM and prizes and heads home to
