“What have you got in your tote bag, Asparagus?” asked Trinity. “It looks very full!” “I’ve come prepared for anything, Trinity,” responded Asparagus. “There’s deck shoes, snowshoes, tennis shoes, flip-flops, flippers, walking boots, Wellington boots—you name it, I’ve got it!”

Trinity and Marmite got so engrossed in the conversation they were having with their fascinating new friend that they had to hurry along so as not to be left behind! They regretfully bade farewell to their new chum and promised to visit again!

Snowy white with a splash of orange for a beak and legs these geese can truly sneak up on you on a winter day. At least they do not have quite the same reputation as their Canadian counterparts *wink wink*

Trinity was excited to meet up again with Marley. They both took a moment to admire the amazing scene around them.

@ Floating Swan Lake
Inukshuk was distracted by the sounds of loud rustling as Trinity unfolded a very large tourist map, in the course of which she succeeded in knocking Inukshuk’s hat off. “Put that away, do!” snapped Inukshuk. “We’re about to pose with this amazing creature—the picture will be of your map if you don’t fold it up pronto!”

In the peaceful morning you can barely see their outline in the mists coming over the lake. Listen carefully and you can hear their calls to one another as they gracefully glide across the water.

Both Sebastian and Trinity love the scenery at the next stop, and they both enjoy introducing themselves to their new friend, who has been waiting to meet them!

The penguins of the northern hemisphere! Ok, not quite but adorable nonetheless. These critters can even be found roaming through town when they are not on the hillsides.

Trinity opened her rucksack to change her hat. fresh could see Trinity had a large, floppy sunhat, a balaclava, a rain hat, a woolly bobble hat, a beanie, a deerstalker hat and a swimming cap! “Did you bring a fez too?” fresh asked Trinity.

Plug your nose! Things are about to get a little smelly around here. Where there are this many penguins there is sure to be a lot of guano! But with such cuties running around it is easy to ignore.

While Trinity paused to drink in the view, Dave started scrabbling in his rucksack for his portable, foldable camping chair. “What are you doing with that, Dave?” asked Trinity. “We’ll need to get going in a minute or we’ll be left behind!”

This lil fella appears grumpy as he is often mistaken for a seal. He really would like to wear a sign saying I am not a seal but has thus far resisted. So please be kind when entering the beach here and do not upset the natives. They are quite friendly.

Trinity and xiaolu were entranced at reaching this stopping place and eagerly posed for a picture standing on either side of the attractive creature they had just met!

Hold onto your rocks! These penguins are notorious rock thieves. They sneak up on one another’s nests and steal pebbles to better their own nest. It appears these two penguins may be conspiring together. So hold onto your goods.

Trinity and Beatrice shook paws and said “How do you do?” to the next creature who had come to meet them, and posed for a souvenir photo. “Why am I always on the left?” grumbled Trinity. “Let’s change sides.” “No,” said Beatrice. “This side shows my best side.”

“You never know what sort of critter to expect next, do you, Angus McGregor?" whispered Trinity. “You know, small, cute and furry or really quite, um, large, with—er—very sharp teeth.” Angus McGregor reassured Trinity that all the critters were looking forward to meeting them, regardless of size, furriness, cuteness and/or type of teeth.

With the grace of a ballerina and the precision of a swordsman the betta fish darts and swims around with skilled choreography. Its fins follow it like an elegant ball gown circling a dancer darting here and there. A thrill to observe.

@ Octopus Ridge
“I’ve written a postcard to my aunty to tell her about our amazing safari!” said Trinity. “She’ll wish she was here! Where’s the nearest postbox?” Orchid shielded her eyes and rotated 360°, elaborately scanning the horizon. “I don’t think they’ve thought to provide a postbox here, Trinity. How remiss of them!” Seeing Trinity’s ears beginning to droop, Orchid added, “Don’t worry, you can post your card after this leg of the safari.”

At the very depths of the ocean you have now reached Octopus Ridge. While it may appear a little scary at first we promise you will find things to be quite welcoming here. You never know what you will discover at great ocean depths.

It is ok. You can breathe. We just recommend staying in the middle of our shark cage here while we are at depth. Going close to the edge near the bars may be a little risky and ill advised. But isn’t that shark ever so graceful swimming around and stalking us?

Trinity and Puddle Rumchuckle agreed that the variety of environments on their expedition was the best ever! Trinity and Puddle Rumchuckle exchanged opinions on which their favourite terrain had been so far, and which was the most interesting creature they had met in their travels!

Swimming and lazing around in the tropical waters one may be lucky to catch sight of these beauties floating by. Amidst the corals their colours almost glow as if illuminated by black light. Certainly a rare treat for anyone to see.

Trinity and Choose a name had shaken paws and were now introducing themselves to the next critter who had come to meet them on this leg of the quest, who was eager to make friends and to show off a carefully tidied natural habitat!

Snap on your scuba gear and go for a swim among these gentle giants. They are more likely that other whales to breech so do take care when in the water. If you aren’t so brave perhaps a Zodiac tour is more your speed.

Trinity has had a wonderful day, and has met lots of animals for the very first time, but now it is time for Trinity to go back to your page and relax.

Your pet will need to wrap up warmly and perhaps don snowshoes for this part of the quest! The journey starts in beautiful snowy scenes where some quite rare animals and birds are waiting to welcome your pet to their wintry world. The quest continues to cliffs, then rocky and sandy seashores and culminates in your pet sailing on the sea to view the watery world and its inhabitants! The octopus has promised to put in an appearance, and the shark has been practising his fiercest, most glary expression, but that’s to conceal his heart of gold and cuddly disposition! Bon voyage!
