@ Tunnel of Maple Trees
Hydro Jen and Sam are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Autumn in Amber
Autumn has well been described by Keats as the "Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness" and pets will here enjoy a ramble through woods with tumbling golden and orange leaves. They can gather hazelnuts, horse chestnuts and fruits, and perhaps forage for mushrooms and dill. Then there are vast fields of wild flowers to explore, and an opportunity to admire the sunset while resting by a rustic barn. Watch your paws or claws crossing the river on the stepping stones—but perhaps splashing in the swirling water is part of the fun!

As you near this autumn realm and hear the thunder of the falls close by, you get to walk through a vividly colorful tunnel of maple leaves with the light of the evening sun at the tunnel's end to attract you further.

As you step out of the tunnel of fall-colored leaves, you are greeted with even more beauty to behold as you see flowers silhouetted by the setting sun. Now you know that the day's journey is almost done!

"Wasn’t it worth coming all this way, Hydro Jen," said Sam, "for this experience alone?" Hydro Jen, admiring the scene they were now in, heartily agreed!

As you look further past where you are now standing, you see a vast farm field to cross with welcoming trees and hillsides awaiting.

Hydro Jen gazed at the scene around them in awe, while Sonata grumbled a little about Hydro Jen's so-called shortcut, if her blisters were anything to go by!

You pause for a moment to make sure that the pictures you've been taking of your breath-taking journey today have been capturing what your eyes have been seeing. Even though there is so much beauty for just two eyes to take in, you are pleased with your photos thus far, especially of the light at the end of the tunnel of maple trees!

@ Handful of Horse Chestnuts
“This reminds me of Meadowlands,” observed Hydro Jen, musing as it and Schnupfen took a moment to admire the produce beside them. “Such a lovely, peaceful scene.”

Not only were you enveloped with maple trees, but you also saw some chestnut trees mixed within, and so you grabbed a handful of chestnuts as a souvenir!

@ Bouquet of Fall Flowers
“I’m going to have to spend a lot of time when we get back looking up what all these flowers are!” said Hydro Jen to Mandy.

As you left the woods, with another tree line to your left, you noticed some large blooms of wildflowers along the edge of the trees, and so you picked a few to spruce up your room when you settle in later in the evening.

@ Fragile Flowers
Hydro Jen was in a hurry to move along and shake some more paws, but Jasper decided to stay where he was for a while, and sketch the scenery for this week's Art Challenge!

“Isn’t this amazing, Orchid?” declared Hydro Jen. “I’m seeing so many flowers and shrubs that I’ve never seen before!”

With all of the flowers you are admiring, you almost forgot the ones you picked up in the autumn realm of green that morning. You check to be sure they are still fresh - and they are! - and remember that you have a note to fill out for tonight's host.

@ Wild White Mushrooms
“These are great as a cake flavouring,” said Hydro Jen.
“You can add it to savoury dishes as well. It’s very versatile,” observed NUTTER.

Continuing on the path, you notice along the tree line something white. Not sure if you were seeing flowers, you approach and find that they are wild mushrooms, the edible kind, and so you grab a few to add to a possible stew later in the evening!

@ Path Covered by Fallen leaves
Benjamin B. Buzzer shook paws with Hydro Jen and was just enjoying the view when he was distracted by loud rustling as Hydro Jen unfolded a very lengthy Autumn Experience itinerary, in the course of which it succeeded in knocking Benjamin B. Buzzer’s hat off. “Put that away, do!” snapped Benjamin B. Buzzer. “I’m about to take a photo of this amazing scene—the picture will be of your map if you don’t fold it up pronto!”

It is so enjoyable to not only see the variety of fall colors beside you, over you and underneath you - but to also hear the sound of the leaves as they crackle under your paws!

@ Surprising Purple Petaled Flowers
“I’m going to ask if I can take a cutting of this,” Rosa said to Hydro Jen. “This would look just fine in a half barrel in my front garden!”

@ Running River After the Waterfall
While Hydro Jen paused to enjoy the view, Spirit started scrabbling in her rucksack for her portable, folding camping chair. “What are you doing with that, Spirit?” asked Hydro Jen. “We’ll need to get going in a minute or we’ll be left behind!”

As you look to your left, with the waterfall thundering to your right, you see how swiftly the river runs past you as you ensure you have enough stepping stones to get across. One wrong step and you may be staying somewhere further south than you planned!

@ Orange You Glad It's Snack Time?
“I hope we can buy more of this at our local farmer's market,” observed Hydro Jen, as it and COVID-19 tucked into a delicious food sample!

As you settle in on your second rock in your river crossing, you remember that your host from last night in the autumn realm of green gave you fresh oranges plucked right off of a tree in their own backyard! Time to get refreshed!

@ Fallen Leaves Floating By
On his way round The Autumn Experience, Hoots bumped into Hydro Jen. They both paused to drink in the beautiful scene before them before going on to the next location.

As you make your way to the next rock, you noticed flower blooms and leaves floating by. The leaves may have fallen from trees and were blown into the water, perhaps before the waterfall. You stretch out your paw and snag a twig of orange-colored leaves to stick out of your backpack!

@ Plucked Flowers Floating By Too!
Paxton and Hydro Jen shook paws and then they both admired the magnificent floral display beside them.

After you cross to your next rock, with the shore almost within reach, you decide to add to your collection of souvenirs by grabbing some of the plucked blooms floating by and wrapping them in paper for safe keeping. These were put in the water by young pets in the autumn realm of green, hoping they would float and float for a long distance.

@ Plenty of Nuts
Dai and Hydro Jen, after shaking paws, admired the crop of harvest produce in front of them. “I didn’t know it looked like that just after harvest,” said Hydro Jen. “I’ve only seen it in the shops!”

As you jump and thump from rock to rock, you check your supply of hazelnuts after noticing you hadn't closed your container as well as you thought! Whew! Most are still there!

@ Red and Yellow Flower
"I think I'll take a cutting of the plant in that tub over there," said Hydro Jen. The label says it's 'vigorous' and 'fearless'."

On her way round The Autumn Experience, Choose a name bumped into Hydro Jen. They both paused to drink in the beautiful scene before them before going on to the next location.

As you step onto the shore, you continue to enjoy the sunset and notice the host home close by! What a welcome sight after a long, but joyful day of hiking into a new realm!

“Oh hello, Hydro Jen!” cried Peanuts. “Didn’t we bump into each other at Crocodile Creek a while ago?”

“What’s this flower called?” Hydro Jen said to Alexandra. “Er—I only know the Latin name for it,” said Alexandra and hastily changed the subject.

As you pass this patch of growth, you pluck a few sprigs in hopes of decorating up the doorway or the table of the home where you'll lay your head down soon.

“Great to meet you again, Redington!” said Hydro Jen. “Come and have some of this farm-grown organic food—it’s absolutely yummy!”

Hydro Jen is enjoying the Autumn Experience when Dory comes along. "Look! A special prize!" says Dory. Hydro Jen looks down and sees something valuable. Dory generously lets Hydro Jen keep it!
